- GreenGrassyNoel, on 02/29/2008, -5/+17what a disappointment
I was expecting carnage. - OwdenBowden, on 02/29/2008, -0/+8Having a Bullie I know how Sweet Loving and Clowns they are - as apposed to what the media has portrayed them to be. My buddy met a horse while we were hiking one day and had this "What the ***** was that look about him" and then he proceeded to drag me along while he traced down the horse. Now if you would like to see a bullie in action then I can point you over to this video and you will witness why they call Dogs "Mans Best Friend" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-__He-LADAs Bull Terriers are the Clowns of the Terrier breed and in the entire Dog world. They love to play with everyone and everything. They are sweet, kind, loving.. They think they are a lap dog - they are not afraid to just fart or burp in your face and at night they snuggle up right next to you and snorer like there is no tomorrow. - noots, on 02/29/2008, -4/+3sorry, but i hate those dogs.
A friend had to get his spaniel put to sleep because it was mauled by one so badly.
they were bred to cause destruction. If you actually took the time to look at other dogs, you'd notice they are just as playful.- ricksite, on 02/29/2008, -1/+3Really, a Bull Terrier mauled another dog? Unless there was some abuse or a medical condition, I don't believe it. Bull Terriers are one of the friendliest breeds. According to the American Temperament Test Society, the Bull Terrier rates 10 points higher than many of the spaniels.
- Meekus, on 02/29/2008, -1/+2It is definitely unfortunate to hear the spaniel had to be put down. One should always first research the breed before they get their dog. When things go awry, it is often times caused by human mismanagement. Bull Terriers, many terriers actually, can be dog aggressive, not so much people aggressive. It is up to the owner to be aware of this trait. IE - it may be poor judgement for a person with an older male dog to get a male bull terrier.
These dogs are great with families who currently have no other dogs. But the family should make sure to properly socialize the dog with both people and other dogs, perhaps getting it a CGC.
My point is, don't hate and blame the breed for the lack of judgement on the part of the humans involved. You could be missing out on a good friend. - Scheissen, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1Bull Terrier's weren't bred for fighting. They were bred for what their name suggests, for corralling bulls. Their head makes it easier to avoid getting kicked.
- ricksite, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2I love Bull Terriers. "They think they are a lap dog" You must have a sturdy lap! ;) I am amazed how much they weight for their size. The aren't big by any means but they sure are dense.
- noots, on 02/29/2008, -4/+3sorry, but i hate those dogs.
- Gir53457, on 02/29/2008, -0/+4i r stoic dog. i has no time for... ok mybe a sum licks.
- skyshock1, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2***** me, that's EXACTLY what happened when my bull-terrier mix met a horse the first time. She tried to jump up and take the horse down by the throat. I guess she thought the horse was a threat or something. The horse got spooked and summarily stomped my dog. The dog went running off yelping... it sucked. They were both okay, but scared the hell out of me.
- leerayIG88, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1Carnage from Spiderman?!
- Chompy, on 03/01/2008, -0/+1Not one horse owner on Digg? The horse is licking the dog for the same reason they lick anything; SALT. It's not affection.
- Mikko92, on 03/01/2008, -1/+0I don't agree Chompy, I'm sure this horse is in love !
- w0lfh0und, on 02/29/2008, -2/+88Do we think the horse is genuinly fond of the dog or just trying to figure whether it's worth eating?
- ElAssoWipo, on 02/29/2008, -1/+26He's more than fond, he loves the dog. That's his buddy.

- Mootabolife, on 02/29/2008, -0/+6Maybe he thinks he's a mini horse with that line down his schnoz.
- ricksite, on 02/29/2008, -0/+8Horses like companionship. Race horses are often given a goat as a companion. It helps to keep them from getting stressed out.
- LUCCHINA, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2Very true.
- wushu18t, on 03/01/2008, -0/+1that horse thinks he's a cat.
