No wait, I can do better.
That story is for the birds! - IAmAHumanBeing, on 06/19/2009, -0/+5I worked in the Garden Dept at Wal-Mart in Hampton, VA last year. Every now and again, a bird would land in the hanging potted plants and make a nest in one. The first time I saw one, I was cynical that Wal-Mart would see it as a profit loss and expect it to be gotten rid of. The next day one of my managers had come out and put a sign up on the pot asking customer not to disturb the bird, as it was nesting. I don't know how many times I'd go visit that bird when I was pissed off. She was my moment of happy whenever I worked there.
Anyways, lots of birds came and went doing the same thing. I loved it. Awesome thing to see a big company have a little respect for nature, even if only on a small level. - inactive, on 06/19/2009, -1/+6But can a Bird haul mulch?
- jboitnott, on 06/19/2009, -0/+4I wonder if there are any tumbleweeds in the dealership lot.
- ghatid, on 06/19/2009, -0/+3They "took it off the market" as in it just wasn't selling, and they didn't foresee it selling before the birds flew away (or ever for that matter).
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2Nice to see that their good deed was rewarded with the slight publicity from this.
- Nick217, on 06/19/2009, -2/+4how green of that dealership
- kfconme, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2It could be carried by an African swallow.
- chrisduser, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1So do cats not venture too far away from residential areas or something?
- Greengoo, on 06/20/2009, -0/+1They could grip it by the husk!
- rxbudian, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1The dealer should try to auction the car off and see how many nice people would be pre buying the car for the nice thought
- cheapdaddy, on 06/21/2009, -0/+1Gee, I guess Chevy sales ARE for the birds. Bet they'll let it go CHEEP!
- violetgreen23, on 06/20/2009, -0/+0aww I'm glad they let the nest be. :)
- inactive, on 06/19/2009, -0/+0maybe it wanted to be left alone.
- gamerbambi, on 06/19/2009, -6/+1Look at me! I am commenting and digging without clicking the article. Is because of me why Digg is all messed up!
- smashTasker, on 06/19/2009, -5/+0Your average truck driver would probably want to buy this truck even more just to kill the bird!
