      The best part is towards the end when the lighter-colored cat just gives up and gets spat out onto the carpet but acts as though nothing happened and just walks away... Ahhh good times!

    you know...if you could teach animals to do this, something like this could be bigger than the sit command. i love animals but will soon live in an apartment. even if i was allowed to have animals (i'm thinking here more along the lines of dogs than cat)s in the apartment i still wouldnt because i think it would be kind of cruel. however, should it be able to get on a treadmill and go for a run whenever it wanted, providing i was still able to take it for walks fairly regularly, i'd be able to get a dog and justify it spending most of its time inside.

    big money to be had here people...the only problem is that once you set up a successful business, it would be hard to prevent others from setting up a similar business.

  • dougmc, on 05/11/2008, -11/+9Gotta be careful with the back end of a treadmill. People have been known to get feet stuck between the belt and the floor, and flesh is pulled off _very_ quickly by the moving belt -- which also makes it very difficult to pull your foot (or hand) out.

    I imagine that most modern treadmills are constructed so that the space between the belt and shroud is very small to help prevent this, but kid's fingers still end up there occasionally, and I'll bet cat's paws could too ...

You have lost a family member. That is one of the awful things about pets (parrots excepted): you will outlive them.

        • breadfred, on 05/11/2008, -0/+6Keep going at it.20 years ago I had 2 rescue cats who did not even manage to fit through the cat flap. All their teeth had gone due to their bad diet. After consultation with the vet I fed them biscuits only, once a day. If they didn't eat it (as it was not something they were used to) I took it away after half an hour. Once a week no food at all for a day.
          They didn't like it at the time, but after a year they were nice cats, running around in the garden and nicking the cooked chicken from my neighbour.
