- camaroz06, on 04/08/2009, -3/+188So let me get this straight....the dogs ride the trains to their correct destinations to eat food and return to their living areas as well? WTF?
I might be a bit ahead of the curve here but....

- TheMachine1, on 04/08/2009, -1/+98Its not all about food sometimes a dog goes downtown just to get laid.
- amabaie, on 04/08/2009, -1/+90Much better than the stray pickpockets on the Italian subways.
- BossKey, on 04/08/2009, -1/+78No, in a Soviet Russia joke you have to switch the subject and object. It isn't "something something," it's "something something."

- stilesja, on 04/08/2009, -1/+15Probably began following humans on the trains, after repetition they learn and continue. Dogs are fascinating animals. You won't find cats riding subways.
- ShadySpace, on 04/08/2009, -1/+14Or detached re-animated dog heads...

- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -0/+10funny how on digg you can use all kinds of stereotypes to insult russians and get dugg, but mention a european or an american, and you get buried. i visited russia recently and people there exercise better hygiene than people in NYC.
- strictnein, on 04/08/2009, -0/+10And there's a lot of them in the US?
- FlippityFlipz, on 04/08/2009, -2/+12Did you read the article? They go by their senses, which are much more powerful than humans. These dogs are smart animals, which is why they are being studied.
- inactive, on 04/08/2009, -3/+12Interesting 'story' but it doesn't sound like a very 'scientific' study.
- Marcinn, on 04/08/2009, -0/+9Soon they'll be literally asking for food!

- s4g4n, on 04/09/2009, -2/+9In Soviet Russia Dogs ride subways. FACT
- michaelpinto, on 04/08/2009, -4/+11What's with this obsession of Russian scientists and dogs? You've got Pavlov's dog being made to drool and then you've got poor Laika being murder by the Soviet space program. Let lying dogs sleep...
- blindmelon1, on 04/09/2009, -1/+7Their country has gone to the dogs.....
- SilverBack101, on 04/08/2009, -0/+6@ stilesja
There was that story from the UK of the white cat who every day would ride the bus and get off on the very same stop.

Though not as cool as dogs learning to ride the subway I admit. - Qumahlin, on 04/09/2009, -1/+7"How the hell does a dog figure out that the subway will get them from their Suburban house to downtown"
Well I don't know about you, but in most cities i've been too where the subway runs out towards "the burbs" it also means the cars are only headed back to one place...the city.
"How do they get past Subway doors?"
WTF are you talking about? Have you ridden a subway? When the doors open to let people in is there a special dog repellant that is supposed to be keeping them out, or are you making the bad assumption a stray dog is going to be afriad of pushing itself through a crowd of people.
What doesn't make sense to me is how you can be so confused at very simple questions. - MetalliTooL, on 04/08/2009, -0/+6Those are some good looking dogs. They don't look like strays at all.
- leahpee, on 04/09/2009, -0/+5I can give them rabies, though.
- jn1167, on 04/08/2009, -4/+9Maybe they should study how they can help them instead.
- AlexanderBlue, on 04/08/2009, -3/+8Q: How many Cocker Spaniels does it take to change a light bulb?
A: It doesn't matter. They're perfectly happy to pea on the floor in the dark. - formfactor, on 04/08/2009, -1/+6well played sir
- AlexanderBlue, on 04/08/2009, -0/+5Wow - slightly disturbing, but fascinating.
- GunWraith, on 04/08/2009, -0/+5Incredible story. It goes to show that animals are more intelligent than most give them credit for!
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -1/+6@ qumahlin,
like i mentioned before, i've traveled russia and going there again for eurovision. it's truly a fantastic place. of all the stereotypes i've seen about russia here on digg, none of them were even close to being true. it's a shame that that redneck garbage like you and calamier give russia and other countries such bad reputations. maybe one day your parents can afford to take you out of the trailer and take you around the world, and you'll see what a closed minded dumbass you are. -
