- jsuther, on 07/17/2009, -13/+101Those four pointy teeth in your mouth, they are called canines. Their function is ripping and tearing meet. Sorry PETA, humans are omnivores.
- GoogleDrummer, on 07/17/2009, -10/+84Does anyone else see that PETA is basically an extremist group. PETA can eat my *****, the ASPCA is where its at, they actually give a ***** about animals and are actually doing something about it.
- shutaro, on 07/17/2009, -12/+60***** PETA!
- o1dord3r, on 07/18/2009, -7/+47When i see PETA protesting outside a kfc i walk outside and eat it in front of them. They get really mad so its worth it to eat outside.
- charm803, on 07/18/2009, -4/+36Comment on the site:
"Marin says:
I built my own Sea Kitten on the PETA website. I named it "Lunch."
It was deleted later that afternoon." - Fragged58, on 07/18/2009, -4/+33Holocaust comparison?? Anyone else think that is a little overboard?
- PassThatShovel, on 07/17/2009, -10/+36I'm convinced that PETA is actually staffed by a bunch of sketch-comedian saboteurs whose goal is to bring a little cheer to our lives with nudity and hilarious stunts. So, yeah, Dugg.
- dattaway, on 07/18/2009, -6/+29Animals are made of meat for only one reason.
- Travelsonic, on 07/18/2009, -2/+24".carnivorous animals have more fang-like teeth for piercing and tearing raw flesh from the bones of their prey. They also have shorter intestines."
We don't have that, and we don't have the qualities of a herbivore either. We are omnivores, designed to eat both animal flesh and plant matter. - MisterMills, on 07/18/2009, -3/+24Here's a novel idea, I'll eat what I want and you eat what you want and we won't tell each other what to eat.
I'm proud to say I like to eat meat and I'm not going to stop. Show me all the data you want proving vegetarian/vegan is healthier, I don't care. I'd rather eat, drink, and be merry and live a short life han be miserable eating and living a way I don't want to just to tack on a few more years. - bullhead2007, on 07/18/2009, -1/+19Is this: http://bitsandpieces.us/wp-content/uploads/2009/06 ...
You?
I love you man, keep up the good work. - totallyRo, on 07/18/2009, -1/+16humans have intelligence, which allowed us to discover tools which we used in place of sharp fangs. we used tools to rip meat off the bone, and tearing flesh. which could have phased out the fangs as we evolved and used tools, therefore these teeth were not necessary and were lost during evolution. now im probably wrong, im not charles darwin, nor have i studied ancient human skulls. just taking a logical guess.
- earthceltic, on 07/18/2009, -2/+15People employing tired acronyms
- funklor, on 07/18/2009, -1/+13And herbivores have even longer intestines and the ability to digest cellulose. Of course, we're neither herbivores nor carnivores, you grade 5 science flunky.
- fury420, on 07/18/2009, -1/+12I do agree that a purely vegan diet can be quite difficult, and requires more knowledge of nutrition than most people possess in order to properly meet your nutritional needs without daily supplements, but is possible without animal products.
getting your average person to simply eat less meat is much easier & will have a much better impact on their health than attempting to get your average person to eat no meat whatsoever. I for one believe completely removing fish & dairy from one's diet is a recipe for malnutrition in 95% of people - staulkor, on 07/18/2009, -3/+14You are my hero.
- earthceltic, on 07/18/2009, -1/+10no, you will continue to live your life in your mother's basement.
- Travelsonic, on 07/18/2009, -5/+14"The gold standard for this argument: Go out, hunt and kill an animal using only what the good lord gave you."
Whether you do or not is irrelevant, our body is designed to eat both animal flesh and plant matter.
"Humans are "omnivores" in name only. The teeth and gut of the human are much more suited for a largely herbivorous diet - the same hunter-gatherer diet that kept mankind going for eons."
[citation required] - counterplex, on 07/18/2009, -1/+10Fire has been around long enough (since the hunter-gatherer times) that cooking should be allowed and humans have been making tools long enough (since the hunter-gatherer times) that they should be allowed. Next!
- Travelsonic, on 07/18/2009, -1/+10Personal attacks on people who hate PETA? Tisk tisk.
I am sure PETA has had some impact, but how many of those things were all PETA, not partly or wholy done by other organizations or the companies PETA targeted? - MisterMills, on 07/18/2009, -2/+10Got some nerve comparing animal rights to the Holocaust. Even more to say that nobody stood up to stop it. Tell is to the roughly 40 million Allied military personnel and civilians that died during the war. Tell it to Axis soldiers and German people who stood up for those targeted, who spoke up, who aided them and were killed for it.
I cannot believe you can sit there and try to take the moral high ground. Worse yet, is that you think you are right. You aren't. I seriously find your comment offensive. People in PETA are the very same type of fanatical people who got caught up in the fervor and were murdering innocent people in WWII, more specifically willfully participating in the largest genocide the world has ever known.
Just wow, that's some serious audacity. I hope I never meet a person like you in my life. - Hraes, on 07/18/2009, -0/+8Can we please just expand this "I'll do what I want and you do what you want and we won't tell each other what to do"?
- MisterMills, on 07/18/2009, -1/+8People are animals and so are chimpanzees. Chimps use tools all the time to kill other animals or acquire food. We are using what nature gave us, that's intellect. We're just like chimps, we just have better tools.
- earthceltic, on 07/18/2009, -2/+9I've been vegetarian and vegan for over 15 years without supplements. I'm very very healthy and my doctor agrees. My cholesterol is about half of what the average americans is and when I die it will be anything but the heart disease that claims the vast majority of men in the US. Don't tell me I can't survive without supplements.
- Nunchuckattack, on 07/17/2009, -7/+14PETA makes me cry for animals. Imagine a world where there was an animal rights organization that got press that wasn't totally and completely insane... Things might actually change.
- compson13, on 07/17/2009, -5/+12they're just too extreme for me...but they're genius at getting publicity.
- Linake, on 07/18/2009, -1/+7"No spears, guns, traps, etc. Outrun/outsmart, pounce and kill. Then, proceed to eat the entire animal with no cooking, seasoning, etc. whatsoever, and using no knives or other implements to tear the meat apart."
Humans have used their intelligence to make weapons of that sort for hunting. Trapping/Shooting IS outsmarting our prey. There are many creatures on this planet who use tools for different things, and humans happen to use them for hunting. Humans also used their brains to figure out that keeping meat (and other food) in cool areas will keep it fresher for longer, and less prone to bacteria that make us sick. Cooking does this, also. We as a species have used our brains to figure out and invent these methods. The only reason that animals like lions and, say, bears don't do the same is because they don't have the brain power to do so. If they did, they would. - totallyRo, on 07/18/2009, -2/+7yeah, i read somewhere (and i can be wrong it was a while ago) that peta puts down more animals than it saves, or was it the aspca.. whichever i thought that was ironic.
- V0lk, on 07/18/2009, -7/+12wrong. And don't tell me that you read food labels and only eat the food that meets your nutritional requirements everyday. The average american just eats fast food/junk 3+ times a day.
- Travelsonic, on 07/18/2009, -2/+7Either that warrants a /s, or you need to learn about stereotypes. I'm an average American and eat fast food and junk food relatively infrequently.
- poihead, on 07/18/2009, -13/+18I am not a PETA supporter and do eat meat every so often, but I do despise ignorant fools that think that displaying their strong preference for eating meat somewhat makes them look more manly or bad ass. It just shows how they themselves are products of the meat advertising industry (or should I say sheep?)...
Dig me down if you have actually killed the chicken, cow or pig, you that proudly admit to eat them... You would likely not even know one from the other if one of them was gnawing on your tiny balls. - Jaime2000, on 07/18/2009, -1/+6Epic win.
- votic, on 07/18/2009, -3/+7they kill over 90% in some places. and they technically exist as an enemy of the United States Government as they openly support and fund terrorist groups.
- thesonofdarwin, on 07/18/2009, -3/+7How is that logical at all? It's like being an atheist just to spite or get a rise out of those darned god-believing people. If people belittle themselves in that manner just to foster their inner child, who's the bigger person?
- totallyRo, on 07/18/2009, -1/+5like i said in the previous reply above, "using only what the good lord gave you" would be using our intelligence, and with that comes tools and traps, spears, and guns. we dont have a protective shell, or claws, or fangs, because we really are just so damn intelligent (arguable), using this is how we came out of the caves, and built planes and skyscrapers.( now while i really dont like the city, and have a mainly thoreau-esque, romantic view of nature, im just saying. ) our intelligence is our weapon, our trump card, it is our fangs, and our shell.
i see your point about waste, and to go a bit off topic ill quote carlin " the planet is fine, the people are *****", earth will survive long after we are gone, life will go on if we dont, while that doesnt give us a get out of jail free card to ***** the environment up, im just saying, no matter what (--nukes) we do, life and nature will prevail. please dont take that as IM DRIVING A HUMMER WHILE CHOKING A BABY SEAL, AND DUMPING TOXIC WASTE INTO A BED OF SPRING FLOWERS. im merely saying, if we keep ***** ***** up, we might die as a species, but earth, mother nature and life will survive; until the sun explodes or somthing crazy - Nature1, on 07/18/2009, -2/+6Honestly. I'm not vegan [just vegetarian--no fish], and I don't need any sort of supplements because I get all of the proper nutrients I need from eating regular food. People can choose to be ignorant of the fact that you can get everything you need from your food without fish or meat [or supplements], but when they bring it up they sound like complete *****.
- ivan14, on 07/18/2009, -1/+5it's spelled "MEAT" not "meet"
- JediPilot, on 07/18/2009, -1/+4So we can't user our BRAIN? WTF, DesertTripper.
- Jaime2000, on 07/18/2009, -0/+3I dunno, but I definitely thought it was hilarious, in a pathetic sort of way.
- tetsuo29, on 07/18/2009, -1/+4*****. I'm 37. I've been a vegetarian since I was 15. I'm perfectly healthy. My kids 11 & 13 have both been vegetarians since birth. Both of 'em are very healthy. It's myth-information like yours that keeps otherwise reasonable people from exploring a meatless diet.
- Travelsonic, on 07/18/2009, -3/+6"How is that logical at all? "
It isn't a matter of being logical or not, it is a very legit means of pushing buttons. - LuckyASN, on 07/18/2009, -1/+4http://alturl.com/pgif
And I'm eating a footlong tuna from subway. Take that PETA!!
Also, you can dress up these things. I always wanted a slutty dinner. - Travelsonic, on 07/18/2009, -2/+5". It just shows how they themselves are products of the meat advertising industry (or should I say sheep?)..."
Or maybe they just decided to take the polar opposite stance just to piss off PETA supporters. - Presbyterian, on 07/18/2009, -8/+11http://www.eatright.org/cps/rde/xchg/ada/hs.xsl/ad ...
It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. - BigVi, on 07/18/2009, -7/+10PETA and Focus on the Family should all just go the F away
- MisterMills, on 07/18/2009, -2/+5Pandas are also afraid of their young. Pandas also don't seem to want to *****. Pandas are the emo kids of the animal kingdom, look at all the black (note around the eyes), the laziness, and trying to not conform (non bearness, damn marsupial). Pandas just aren't meant to be. Their whole existence seems like a cruel joke of nature.
- jetboyterp, on 07/18/2009, -10/+13I Love Spotted Owls
They taste just like chicken!
This article should be renamed "10 most dumbass stunts pulled by PETA-tards" - TekTrixter, on 07/18/2009, -0/+2Wait, so your ***** is vegan-friendly?
- cly8419, on 07/18/2009, -1/+3Oh and just so you know, Psynaut00, if the Holocaust hadn't happened the dozens of other genocides around the world would have shown it is possible.
Also, you are an idiot. Hands down, no questions asked. - marmotjmarmot, on 07/18/2009, -1/+3Don't put your penis in anything crazy. Shop Vac or PETA girl, the end result is the same.
