- stignordas, on 04/30/2008, -6/+58Love foreign advertising, controversial ads like this probably wouldn't make it in the U.S. Go Canada!
- KatoHamatsu, on 04/30/2008, -2/+6Britan still has the monopoly on clever ads.
- FarmPunk, on 04/30/2008, -3/+3Only if you speak english.
- taiakpun, on 04/30/2008, -1/+9What is so controversial about this? I live in Calgary and think the ad is quite imaginative.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 04/30/2008, -0/+4This would especially never fly in San Francisco where a zoo patron was recently killed by a tiger who got out of its enclosure.
- deathsquadx, on 04/30/2008, -0/+7That person was a good example of why you shouldn't ***** with an animal that can kill you.
- worldchanger, on 04/30/2008, -0/+15"foreign advertising"
you make it sound like Canada is frigging Mongolia or something.- Intamin, on 05/01/2008, -0/+3Haha, it will be if Bush makes it any harder to cross the border...
- KatoHamatsu, on 04/30/2008, -2/+6Britan still has the monopoly on clever ads.
- MTessa, on 04/30/2008, -0/+28Wow. I'm not sure that makes me want to take a behind the scenes tour. Anyone else want to stay on the other side??
The Calgary zoo's got some chops or Tbones with that ad.- PDubNYC, on 04/30/2008, -1/+0ZOINKS!!! I mean who knew that tigers eat meat, and that we are made up of meat?!?!?!? Blows my mind.
- chaosgone, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1I think I will pass on the behind the scenes tour. I don't feel like being a tiger's lunch today!
- puffinstuff, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3The tables have turned.
- homedaddy, on 04/30/2008, -1/+75Times are tough. The Calgary zoo needs to find a way to get fresh meat for their animals.
- meandnips, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2Very clever, love the socks and the half empty drink.
- DiggieDarko, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2Not sure I get it?
- thealliedhacker, on 04/30/2008, -0/+16Looks like somebody's a pessimist
- dsinning, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1half full drink, half full....
- kingvik, on 04/30/2008, -0/+9It's not half full or half empty, it's twice as big as it needs to be.
- MuddyMudskipper, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2that should win an award for clever montage of stock photos... not as easy as you might think.
- DiggieDarko, on 04/30/2008, -0/+4The wristband gives it a nice 80's flair.
- CatalunyaBob, on 04/30/2008, -3/+4If I were a tiger, it'd rather it be charred over mesquite with a nice glaze of smoked & rendered baby fat.
- DickyT83, on 04/30/2008, -2/+5They're just bustin our chops.
- PabloMac, on 04/30/2008, -0/+7I didn't digg or bury this story, as I don't really have a steak in it.
- ConceptualTrap, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3Well, I buried this story. I thought it was all fluff and no meat.
- PabloMac, on 04/30/2008, -0/+7I didn't digg or bury this story, as I don't really have a steak in it.
- suntzusputnik, on 04/30/2008, -0/+36that's GRRREEAT!
- BRapscallion, on 04/30/2008, -0/+8...and for dessert, a German illusionist...
- MariaEspanol, on 04/30/2008, -1/+4The steak looks a little pear shaped to me, should have more fat.
- surKaz, on 04/30/2008, -2/+2Great... a 'behind the scenes, inside the animals' look at Calgary Zoo..
- scott12087, on 04/30/2008, -4/+5Dugg for the Slurpee
- dzw120, on 04/30/2008, -4/+2Given that this ad is based in North America, that steak definitely needs to be more marbled.
- sailadayaway, on 04/30/2008, -8/+3Calgary was in Canada the last time I checked.
- Calcularius, on 04/30/2008, -1/+32Canada was in North America the last time I checked.
- Merendino, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3Nice.
- jggr, on 04/30/2008, -0/+9Nice is in France. Which is in Europe, not North America.
- mcdropkicker, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Nice. Dugg for the wit.
- sailadayaway, on 05/01/2008, -0/+1this is all too true... i need to read a little slower...
- RaspberryBarret, on 05/01/2008, -1/+0USA out of North America!
- Calcularius, on 04/30/2008, -1/+32Canada was in North America the last time I checked.
- sailadayaway, on 04/30/2008, -8/+3Calgary was in Canada the last time I checked.
- Merendino, on 04/30/2008, -0/+5I agree that its a good ad but, humans are the top of the food chain.
Look up "Apex Predator"- ddawggin, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2True, I don't see tiger run zoos with humans as exhibits.
Besides, have you ever had tiger? Delectable.- Merendino, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1No but I'd be down for a taste. Seems like they would taste okay, with a few spices!
- chaosevil, on 04/30/2008, -1/+3Take away our WMDs and guns and the food chain flips.
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/30/2008, -2/+5Take away their claws and teeth and strength and things stay right where they are.
- Merendino, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Exactly blackinthemiddle. Chaosevil, our weapons were created from the use of our very large brains. Our brain IS our weapon. And a ***** deadly one at that.
- SSCrow, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2we would loose to a tiger hands down if were to not have any weapons that are not naturally attached.
- Vapor17, on 05/01/2008, -1/+2really? 'cuz i thought we would win
- tomz17, on 05/01/2008, -0/+1You miss the point... it's human intelligence that puts us way ahead of the tiger. Sure a tiger would win in a direct confrontation with a single human, but that is a highly concocted situation... humans are able to arrange themselves into societies, divide labor, foresee circumstances, build defenses, plan hunts, design weapons, etc. etc. Human vs tiger is not even remotely a fair fight... we've been to the moon... we post on digg... humans have an ABSURD advantage. We are the top of the food chain by every metric that matters.
- ddawggin, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2True, I don't see tiger run zoos with humans as exhibits.
- Calcularius, on 04/30/2008, -7/+4Zoos are barbaric. If you want to see a tiger, go to where tigers live.
- neoform, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3Given that certain animals only live in captivity now, how can you say that?
- taiakpun, on 04/30/2008, -0/+5and get eaten
- SkippyDoorknob, on 04/30/2008, -0/+14Some tigers live in zoos. I'll take your advice and go see them there.
But seriously though, many zoo animals have been rescued from conditions that would most likely have led to their death (people with exotic "pets" who can't properly feed or care for them, etc.) - partysan, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2Or go where the Père David's deer live. You know, the ones Texans love to hunt on safaris. Oh wait...
- KingGorilla, on 04/30/2008, -0/+4Have you learned nothing from this poster!?!?!
- elbonito665, on 04/30/2008, -7/+45OM NOM NOM NOM
- yikiad, on 04/30/2008, -3/+5dugg for the brazilian waxing article nest to it...
- BlackGum, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1I was unable to stand after reading page 1. Thank you for pointing that article out.
- ConceptualTrap, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1ditto, the waxing article was great.
- Cloud7654, on 04/30/2008, -1/+11This ad is for the lions, not that it changes anything.
- Teapotty, on 04/30/2008, -2/+1It says on the bottom of the poster "Come face-to-face with the top of the food chain." What about Polar Bears, they're the largest land carnivore?
- iigloo, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3What about us? I think we're on the top. Name something we can't kill and/or eat.
- chrispr, on 04/30/2008, -1/+4Taxes.
- TalaBAM, on 04/30/2008, -0/+5Wesley Snipes

- chrispr, on 04/30/2008, -1/+4Taxes.
- Ourcellardoor, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2Babies.
- MrCoke, on 05/01/2008, -1/+1Fail.
- fef560, on 05/01/2008, -0/+1***** you, I've never seen anyone eat a baby
- Ourcellardoor, on 05/01/2008, -0/+1Conventionally, humans do not eat babies, tigers (and polar bears) are more likely to. So, my comment stands.
Unless, of course, by "Fail." you meant "Success."
- MrCoke, on 05/01/2008, -1/+1Fail.
- iigloo, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3What about us? I think we're on the top. Name something we can't kill and/or eat.
- racco, on 04/30/2008, -3/+5I think you'll find that its us humans at the top of the food chain
- redscofield, on 04/30/2008, -6/+17Deb: What are you drawing?
Napoleon Dynamite: A liger.
Deb: What's a liger?
Napoleon Dynamite: It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.- ZeroNeo, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liger
- redscofield, on 04/30/2008, -0/+9it is an advert for lions though... not tigers...
- JakeyG14, on 04/30/2008, -0/+5Listen campus boy, we didn't come here for no animal lessonings!
- teh_techie, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2I was going to post that too - thanks for being on the same wavelength!
LION != TIGER
- Vandango, on 04/30/2008, -0/+19That tiger didn't go crazy. That tiger went tiger.
- stignordas, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1A tiger couldn't have said it better himself.
- ClevelandBrown, on 04/30/2008, -3/+0I am not a piece of meat.
- hohotrade, on 04/30/2008, -2/+0ad,just works sometime, dig
- fribhey, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2if lions were the top of the food chain then we would be the ones in the zoo.
- onelove, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2I used to live in Calgary, and have gone to one of the behind the scenes tours, there pretty awesome, and sad at the same time.
- chemdiva, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1They should have collection bins for habitat preservation funds or something: "does seeing these wild animals in the zoo make you sad? donate here to help preserve natural habitat!"
- Ourcellardoor, on 04/30/2008, -1/+1I'd venture to say that it would be hard to be a steak-man also.
- LogitechG15, on 04/30/2008, -3/+2It's
- mustache, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2Sooo... Why is it hard being a tiger again?
- sircomix, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2I found that rather disturbing for some reason, I think because the skin on the arms and legs looks rather corpselike. Add to that a steak and... shiver!
Very clever ad, but ew. - alpharaptor, on 04/30/2008, -0/+14are you human?
-negative, i am a meat popsicle.- stignordas, on 04/30/2008, -0/+8Leeloo Dallas mul-ti-pass
- basevillin, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3Chi-kan, guuud!
- cyrt, on 04/30/2008, -1/+3I'll bet you're thinking about eating me right now! Aren't you?!
- 032483, on 04/30/2008, -2/+1I didn't think it was that clever.
- digjam, on 04/30/2008, -5/+3Thats NOT worthy front page... and BTW why do every article from divinecaroline end up on the fp??? is it bcos of 231 friends????
- AyaJulia, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1"Although it might be poorly received in San Francisco at the moment because of the tiger attack."
Well then it's a good thing San Fransisco is about 2500 miles away from Calgary, and thus not the likely target of the ad, isn't it? Honestly.... - mcdropkicker, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Also, this ad could be used for cannibals.
- muka3d, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2Remember folks, there's no food shortage up here in Canada. Especially meat, we've got copious amounts of it and it's still cheap. I hope prices don't skyrocket here too anytime soon...
- paperkut, on 05/01/2008, -0/+0no tiger...no tourist until you finish your vegetables...
- puunjab, on 05/01/2008, -1/+1That was one of the most retarded things I have ever seen. No where in there is there even a tiger, or a remote reference to one. It could be a lion.
Lay off the tiger ***** for awhile and the tiger jizz will stop corrupting your brain.
FAG. - Souley16, on 05/01/2008, -0/+0The meatguy looks like Powder
- seabass341, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1mmm... sirloin
