The parent forced the zoo to kill all the meerkats (five of them) and send them in to get tested for rabies (negative) rather than make their little hellspawn take rabies shots (which would have amounted to five to ten shots in the arm - they don't do the tons of stomach shots any more).

Other than very rare albinos, tigers are of course orange and black. The albinos are usually killed by predators because they stand out like a sore thumb in their environment. The fact is that "white tigers" are bred though regressive genes. Mom and Dad (almost always mother/son, brother/sister, father/daughter) are carriers of this gene and a certain percentage of their offspring will be white. The ones that look like the tigers used in magic shows/zoos are not the norm. This is what they usually look like:

They use them in shows and circuses because they're less likely to attack a person because of their diminished mental capabilities. But the fact remains that ALL tigers with this regressive gene should be removed from the gene pool, due to ignorance of breeders and the foolish enthusiasm for the unusual of the general public, and the lack of empathy for these beautiful animals. It's sad that they had to kill the tiger, but it's also the guy's fault for going in there when the animal wasn't properly contained in a holding area.

Some fancy looking pen with concrete floors and tourists looking over them is not how tigers are meant to exist. It's a brutal prison, making money is a zoo's primary goal.
A single tiger's natural habitat consists of up to 450km2 (over 100,000 acres.)
And don't call white tigers a rare species, that's like inbreeding people with down syndrome and calling them a rare species of humans.
