- moxley, on 04/22/2009, -0/+8When I was a kid of about 11 I was at my cousin's farm in MN - we went out with our pellet guns to go shooting in a swampy area on their land, but we had to pass by their pasture to do it.
Being a California boy who hadn't really been on a farm before I didn't know ***** about electric fences, so as we're walking out there I am holding my rifle and at one point the barrel rests against the electric fence (which I didn't know was electric)..I cannot explain how painful it was, as this fence was designed to keep huge cows in.
It felt like my insides were being smacked out by 1000 guys with baseball bats 1000 times a second. It was forceful in a way I cannot explain, and the weirdest part is that if you;ve ever fallen down hard, or been hit really hard it's stunning and hurts and feels forceful - but to feel that coming from the inside from every cell in my body was a really sickening sensation.
Since I didn't know the fence was electric, I didn't know what was causing this to happen, so I didn't move my barrel off of the fence, until my cousin realized why I was screaming and kicked me away from it. It seemed like an eternity, but apparently I was only on there for about 5 seconds.
