- cl1tcommander, on 06/27/2008, -4/+54Ha, ha is he a south paw?
- angrycat, on 06/27/2008, -1/+3Actually a majority of cats are left pawed.
- eNyoron, on 06/27/2008, -1/+1Hate to be a spoilsport, but he was leading with his left. So he wasn't a southpaw.
- sc0tty0, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1jab left would be a righty
- RedSquaree, on 06/27/2008, -8/+4Okay, that wasn't too bad.

Fishing Line
Crappy TV
Profit- MaddieCakes, on 06/27/2008, -6/+3How many cats do you know of that will sit there and tolerate their front legs getting tugged around on fishing line? (Okay, after watching it again, I can see how they might be dangling it in front of him.)
- peticsu, on 06/27/2008, -0/+3mine does it all the time...
- SuicideMouse, on 06/27/2008, -4/+2Your cat is pretty chill if it just let's you tie strings around it's paws and move them around without notably not enjoying it and trying to stop you.
I don't think I've ever seen my fat ass cat move around so much as when I tied a wool string to his collar that was about 3 feet long with one of those vibrating balls with fur that look like rats or ferrets rolling around on the end.
***** cat broke it by running fast enough that the thing picked up off the ground and smashed against my oven. - skyroket, on 06/27/2008, -0/+5MIGHT be dangling it in front of him? THEY ARE DANGLING IT IN FRONT OF HIM!!
- skierkegaard, on 06/27/2008, -2/+4My cat does that same thing, standing on hind legs and swiping. I think it is legit, and clever to pair with boxing.
- SuicideMouse, on 06/27/2008, -5/+4It could be either the cat just doing it or someone teasing it with some kinda string or something off camera.
Someone on the site said something about how it was imitating humans and got dismissed but my cats have done things I would say could have been imitation of human behavior.
I have a cat that likes to lay flat out on his back next to someone in bed who's doing the same but if they lay on their side he will switch to another position more similar to that (still stretched out a bit so he looks more human) and if they lay in a fetal position he'll curl up like a lot of cats do when they sleep. He doesn't do this all of the time but if he copies your position then he will likely continue doing so every time you move for that night (or nap). He also sometimes sits like Garfield, sitting on his ass with his legs coming out the front relatively straight. Looks retarded and I laugh at him quite a bit.
Of course it could easily be a coincidence but it doesn't look like one once you've seem him do it a few times a week.
I'll probably be dugg down for talking about my cat so much but I think it's worth noting that there's a possibility cats (as well as other animals, parrots for instance) imitate humans on occasion for whatever reason.- PopcornDave, on 06/27/2008, -0/+3I had a cat that watched auto racing. It was the cars moving around the track that intrigued him for whatever reason.
- daqq, on 06/27/2008, -2/+15I bet you'd walk into a Toys R Us and proclaim the non-existence of Santa Claus.
Bastard.

- booyahbitch, on 06/27/2008, -6/+5Now if you could only get him to wield a wii controller and talk smack, you might really have something!!!!1
- Jupichan, on 06/27/2008, -3/+6That's one of the cutest things I've seen in a while. :3
- jamessavik, on 06/27/2008, -1/+5Kitty has a mean jab.
- palewook, on 06/27/2008, -5/+1whats next cat juggling!
- 4rp4n3t, on 06/27/2008, -0/+7I have tried that, but they always scratch me :(
- Brassbud, on 06/27/2008, -0/+0"Father, could there be a God that would let this happen?"
- Unksean, on 06/27/2008, -2/+2Funny, but would have been even better with old Mike Tyson's punchout.

- PopcornDave, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1Been done already. Apparently it's circa 1894. I can't get a direct link, but it's the one at the bottom. http://www.catboxing.com/video/cats_on_camera/boxi ...

- vladimirpoopen, on 07/24/2008, -2/+13He's not boxing. He's trying to move that damned gradient out of the way so he can get the full picture.
- unfinite, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1I think he's swatting at the moving gradient that you sometimes get when you film a CRT. Cats and dogs don't see things the same way we do. Their eyes have a different refresh rate, like cameras, so they see those moving strips all the time. [citation needed]
- PopcornDave, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1Not sure about the refresh rate, but I believe that cats see everything like life was squished to fit letterboxing on your tv. Everybody is sort of dwarfish and strange looking.
There was a horror movie that I saw when I was a kid that was probably made in the early to mid 60's where part of the film was seen through the eyes of the cat. IMDB and Google are of no help in locating the title, but it was one of the ones you'd see on the Saturday night horror movie shows.
They filmed it as a cat would see it and everything looked like some invisible plate had squished everything down about 15-20%.
- PopcornDave, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1Not sure about the refresh rate, but I believe that cats see everything like life was squished to fit letterboxing on your tv. Everybody is sort of dwarfish and strange looking.
- SuicideMouse, on 06/27/2008, -0/+3I thought I read somewhere that cats couldn't tell the difference between HD video and real life, especially as kittens (or perhaps they just havn't learned chasing stuff on TV is pointless)
I know my newest cat as a kitten would chase the mouse around on my monitor, and could watch HD video of birds and other animals for hours.
I'm pretty sure dogs can't see ***** on normal TVs, cats may be the same.
Here's some links, I can't recall if this is what I read.

This one is just for fun: http://tinyurl.com/593q3e - SuicideMouse, on 06/27/2008, -0/+2Sorry to double post but I missed the edit count, I found two more links that go against my previous belief to some degree about dogs being able to watch TV.
A site about pets in general with some info.

and Yahoo Answers... probably not the most reputable source but whatever.

- m0neybags, on 06/27/2008, -8/+2Fake
- Branchex, on 06/27/2008, -2/+6Now if only I could get that cat and a tiny kangaroo, I could make fortune on boxing matches.
(joke)- cdigioia, on 06/27/2008, -0/+3I'd pay
- SuicideMouse, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1We could use a monkey as a referee.
- PopcornDave, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1Sylvester never had a chance against that giant mouse so why would your cat?
- enderklein, on 06/27/2008, -1/+4Dugg for video taping your cat watching TV
- Sparq, on 06/27/2008, -2/+5I sort of hate these video, as the bit of string held just out of camera shot enticing the cat to perform makes it more of a circus act than something genuinely cute.
- Shigglyboo, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1didn't think of that.... grr, now I feel cheated.
- bblande, on 06/27/2008, -1/+3My two cats (who are sisters) already participate in cat boxing on a daily basis.
- diggerphelps, on 06/27/2008, -2/+25float like a butterfly
stink like a litterbox - hagfish70, on 06/27/2008, -2/+3Muhammad Kiti?
- LooRoo, on 06/27/2008, -8/+0this is older than the internet
- TeraRealm256, on 06/27/2008, -9/+1BURIED!! It's CATOYSHOPPED!!
- oninbonin, on 06/27/2008, -3/+1Wii Kitty!
- justice7, on 06/27/2008, -1/+4My cats already do this on my TV. It doesn't seem to matter which show is on though, i think they just like the feeling of swiping the glass on their paws. The movement on the screen also gets their attention. I don't think its so much that they are imitating anything. Whoever filmed this likely put boxing on to make it appear that way.
- cdigioia, on 06/27/2008, -0/+5Exactly...some cats do this all the time.
And to compound the fact - I think this cat's movements were too natural for fishing line
- cdigioia, on 06/27/2008, -0/+5Exactly...some cats do this all the time.
- cpsutcliffe, on 06/27/2008, -2/+2Pussy!
- synack, on 06/27/2008, -3/+1Why is this cat not wearing boxing gloves?
- aleksabrooks, on 06/27/2008, -1/+0This cat is in a freestyle:)))
- Jenadae, on 06/27/2008, -2/+2Sadly the fishing line reflects the light on the last second of the video :( was cute though!
- anotherjack, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1Where? What quadrant? Is it moving? Details!
- Etchii, on 06/27/2008, -1/+26I CAN HAZ BELTZ?
- TheMachine1, on 06/27/2008, -1/+3Oh dear there are street riots in Sudan over the title of this video.
- tripledjr, on 06/27/2008, -1/+2OR cat attacks string and Ali would beat the ***** out of that cat.
- aleksabrooks, on 06/27/2008, -4/+4Haha!! That's cool!! Animals understand everything, my cat likes to watch Discovery and tries to talk to animals on tv:)))
- DrSnugglebunny, on 06/27/2008, -1/+2He coulda been a contender.
- dafragsta, on 06/27/2008, -1/+1Non-human animals are awesome and way underestimated.

- boejangles, on 06/27/2008, -0/+9AWE... HE THINKS HE'S PEOPLE !
- SebG, on 06/27/2008, -2/+3Yeah, its obvious that its staged. There is something above the cat, just out of the view. Any intelligent person would catch that
- hagfish70, on 06/27/2008, -1/+2Wow. You must be SUPER intelligent then!
Dumb ass...
- hagfish70, on 06/27/2008, -1/+2Wow. You must be SUPER intelligent then!

- cowsgonemadd3, on 06/27/2008, -0/+2The cat probably does the same thing to paris hilton videos too.
- PopcornDave, on 06/27/2008, -0/+2No, the cat probably tries to bury the television.
- flogistan, on 06/27/2008, -0/+2Should have gone with Meowhammad Ali
- Zombi, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1That was adorable
- scoottie, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1i wonder if there was something attached to a string just outside of the cameras view.
- TsuruchiBrian, on 06/27/2008, -0/+8Some muslims might try to kill your for naming your cat Muhammad.
