Seems normal to me. Hell, I'd scream too if someone approached me with a dart gun. - ricker2005, on 03/06/2009, -2/+11This comment appears constantly on Digg in one form or another. And it's just as retarded now as it was the first time somebody used it.
Not only are some people capable of caring about more than one important thing simultaneously, but many can actually multitask too. - Scrappy1850, on 03/06/2009, -1/+10he would rip off your face and eat it if he had the chance!
- cpoc86, on 03/06/2009, -0/+8Wasn't this how 28 Days Later started? We're *****...
- MacEnvy, on 03/06/2009, -0/+8The Humane Society has nothing to do with PETA. Thankfully.
- TomT127, on 03/06/2009, -0/+6Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape!
- onestrawplz, on 03/06/2009, -1/+6That site was put out by the Center for Consumer Freedom. The CCF also attacks Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and essentially anyone else who speaks out against fast food, alcohol abuse, and tobacoo. The Center for Consumer Freedom has a bigger agenda than PETA does, being lobbyists for the meat, alcohol, and tobacco industries.
- Notyavgkat, on 03/06/2009, -5/+10people can be very bad sometimes
- inactive, on 03/06/2009, -3/+8We were injecting them with newly created strands of AIDS last week. Don't think there is a much better way to tell a chimp to go ***** himself than that.
- dullnation, on 03/06/2009, -0/+5oh no you dih'nt
- Coffeedemon, on 03/06/2009, -2/+7One story existing does not cause the others to cease existing.
- DildoBaggins202, on 03/06/2009, -3/+7Its ridiculous how these people among many others in the world treat animals of any kind. whether it be chimpanzees, dogs what ever, they are still living creatures just like us, no matter their intelligence or physical abilities they should not be subjected to these things. Animals around the world are going extinct due to deforestation, abuse etc... people need to understand that all creatures have the right to live in good conditions.
- lolfantastic, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4You take anything from its environment and throw them in a cage and they're bound to get messed up. Jail/Zoo, same thing.
- inactive, on 03/06/2009, -2/+5Evermin, you must be a hit at parties. "How are we going to drink and have fun when there's corruption?" Stop being so damned pretentious.
- laborcszanto, on 03/06/2009, -10/+13What do chimps taste like? Don't say chicken, it's racist.
- MacEnvy, on 03/06/2009, -0/+3Haha, that was a great 30 Rock last night. Lithgow rocks.
- satanherself, on 03/06/2009, -0/+2Animals will have affection for you unconditionally where as people are not like that. Animals are simplistic by nature they don't mess with your head or use you. What you see is what you get with them. To abuse an animal is one of the lowest examples of human behavior.
- blakestah, on 03/06/2009, -0/+3Rhesus monkeys are the AIDS model, not chimpanzees.
If you cannot tell a monkey from an ape...

- onestrawplz, on 03/07/2009, -0/+2@solid
It's clear that they care more about making money for the industries than for personal health of consumers. They try to block anti-drunk driving adverts, for ***** sake. No one said you shouldn't be allowed to drink, but clearly drunk driving is a problem and more education is required. The CCF doesn't want this education. Same with anti-tobacco ads. These are the people who don't want you to know that cigarettes contain tar.
@chadillac
the domain is owned by the Center for Consumer Freedom. Read my post.
@gguillorn
Look, I disagree with the drinking age too, but there are far more important things, frankly. MADD does some pretty good educational programs that makes people think twice against drunk driving, and I'm sorry, but education is not something the CCF should be fighting against just because it *might* hurt liquor sales. - uncopyright, on 03/06/2009, -3/+5Wow, does everything that is federally funded fail?
- freezerburn666, on 03/06/2009, -3/+5poor cousins :( i hope they find a place for them that will treat them right
- askantik, on 03/07/2009, -0/+1So true. Zoos are ***** up.
- bsd13, on 03/08/2009, -0/+1Why would this surprise anyone? How did they think that animals you're willing to do all manner of experimentation on would be treated?
- blakestah, on 03/07/2009, -0/+1A chimp is not the same as a pet dog - they definitely do not have affection for humans unconditionally. Also, these are allegations of abuse from an agency that solicits donations by exposing allegations of abuse. The primate center denies the allegations. There will be an investigation. I predict the primate center is found to have a model animal care and use program.
- inactive, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1It's all about equality my friend. One world. one love or something like that.
- vcudigg, on 03/08/2009, -0/+1"The Michael Vick Center For Monkey's" should have raised a red flag...

- skatoolaki, on 03/06/2009, -1/+2Seems like every time we're in the news (Louisiana), it's something embarrassingly bad.
- macsox, on 03/06/2009, -1/+1Let me guess: they're toiling in a hidden diamond mine?
- lovemorgul, on 03/06/2009, -6/+6very troubling news
- Gguillorn, on 03/06/2009, -0/+0okay, sounds good.
- 1mean1, on 03/08/2009, -0/+0A primate has the unfortunate vulnerability of not expressing her/his opinion in unicellular human language of any sort. Just like many other "lower" animals the lack of unicellular human language has demoted them to that rank of "lower" animal but the interesting fact which is always the same message in all articles about mistreatments of either primate or other "lower" animals is the nature of unicellular humans showing their tendencies of ABUSE. Abuse towards lower animals and primate was generated when the first unicellular homosapiens made an axe to kill for food. The scale of abuse increased and nowadays everybody enjoys the debate. This sells newspapers, enraged the acitivists, law suits are engendered but NOTHING is ever achieved and NO real sustainable apologies are ever expressed to the primates or to the "lower" animals.
Might as well get rid of ALL primates and "lower" animals so that the debates stop and unicellular human can really get on with real diplomacy with each other instead. - tripleberry, on 03/07/2009, -0/+0So basically the government takes money out of the paycheck of one primate who exhibits signs of isolation, self degradation psychosis, and all sorts of emotional and physical problems...ME.....and pays someone else to treat monkeys in a way that will cause them to exhibit signs of isolation, self mutilation psychosis, and all sorts of emotional and physical problems...that's just great.
- blankman, on 03/06/2009, -3/+3Ha, they made goth emo monkeys
- thesatorialist, on 03/06/2009, -2/+1Fair enough. But it is easy to write or call your local political reps, and that DOES matter, since politicians are very sensitive to their constituents (when it means votes). So here you go: https://community.hsus.org/campaign/FED_2009_apepr ...
Write or call your local, state and fed reps.
Even if you support animal testing, you can support humane treatment for our close cousins. - Gguillorn, on 03/06/2009, -1/+0***** MADD, they raised the drinking age to 21...bastards.
- carabou, on 03/06/2009, -3/+2my bad, you have a point.
- Fruit45, on 03/06/2009, -2/+1we should use rapists and murderers in prison for these experiments, not innocent animals.
- frishackbanned, on 03/06/2009, -2/+1Anyone who thinks this is important enough to do something about is not worthy of life.

the paper work doesn't lie. - solid12345, on 03/06/2009, -4/+2How dare someone stand up for the right to consume what I want!
- blakestah, on 03/06/2009, -5/+3Do you think the Humane Society has any trouble at all rounding up enough DIGG accounts to make the front page?
- ricker2005, on 03/06/2009, -6/+4"They should not be subjected to this long-term, decade-long isolation, and all these painful and physical procedures and the psychological torment in these laboratories."
This is really what they're after. The Humane Society wants animal research stopped entirely, apparently ignoring the fact that doing these types of experiments on closely related species is less objectionable to the majority of humanity than using people. -
