- raphael7, on 12/01/2008, -0/+19It is always great to see survivors from war
- Oatmeal, on 12/01/2008, -0/+13On a similar note 100,000+ gorillas were discovered in the congo a few months ago, which doubled the amount of gorillas thought to survive worldwide: http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/africa/08/05/congo.g ...
- lovemorgul, on 12/01/2008, -0/+12There are so many endangered species and hope for any of them is great news!
- bennyshoham, on 12/01/2008, -0/+9High above the war-battered plain I swing from a tree, tee hee hee
- mreade, on 12/01/2008, -0/+8Hopefully the tentative peace can last a while longer.
- jgubbe, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5If any animal is smart enough, gorillas and other primates seem like the right types for that "Survivor" job.
- Nateon, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4This is great news. I spent a few weeks studying the effects of the war and Coltan mining on the population and habitat of the gorillas and it's sad to read about what has happened to these creatures over the decade.
- redscofield, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3until they are killed for meat... or enchoached upon and lose their habitat...
i used to be optimistic... - Greenergrass, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3Wonderful and fantastic news but their life is threatened in this war area.
- colonelcupcake, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2What kind of ***** researchers just now find 125,000 gorillas?
- RobotBuddha, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2I don't even care much about most endangered species. Gorillas are something special though. It's a unique chance to observe brains that are both related to our own, but with significant variations. Most animals can be used to learn about our basic biology, but it's the higher primates that give us a chance to really understand our minds.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2well, now that everyone knows they exist...... thanks physorg!
- sanman, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2the gorillas or the guerrillas?
- fearlessfx, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2The Congo is supposed to be a treasure trove of undiscovered wildlife, if there is any place in the natural world that should be protected its this place.
- str3ama, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2I don't know why but that was awesome.
- omegared, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2what do you think of disable people than, that can not walk or have brain damage?
- ravitejag, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Wild life is made to suffer in between nations wars. Nations should take care that the wild life is not affected by their national disputes.
Man himself is a social animal and due to wars one will not be amazed to see only a few men and women left in the world to survive due to these raging wars everywhere - kivab4b, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Yeah. Whats commendable is the fact that the park director directly approached the rebel faction to get back into the park. Shows some dedication.
- str3ama, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2it was a joke I think.
- str3ama, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Amazon Rainforest, good deal of flora and fauna yet to be discovered or named. If you're really determined, you can take a trip over there and get something named after you - granted you may have to settle for a fungal growth, but hey that's pretty damn cool still.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -4/+2the gorilla is a ***** retarded creature. It's too big, slow, can barely climb and is only capable of simple first year calculus.
- jmistamista, on 12/02/2008, -3/+1Hello. I'm Amy. I'm Amy. Good Good Good Amy.
