- lohphat, on 07/01/2009, -0/+15The cat "forced him to the ground"???
Man up Nancy. - gridbread, on 07/01/2009, -0/+13That cat is hilarious, I wish he had one of those pet cams strapped on.
Could turn it into a youtube show. - blackopsfreak06, on 07/01/2009, -0/+12Read a week or two ago about a woman who fought off a cougar that was attacking her daughter...then I read about our friend who was viciously attacked by a house cat...that dude is a wuss.
- serif69, on 07/01/2009, -0/+12Build one what?
- AmyVernon, on 07/01/2009, -0/+11I used to have a cat that dogs crossed the street to avoid. They freakin' rock. One night, my parents heard awful screeching in the backyard, and in the morning, there was fur ALL OVER the backyard. Our cat came strolling in with not a scratch on him. We have no idea what the other one looked like.
- cerejota, on 07/01/2009, -4/+15@mattw Shut the ***** up. Cats are superior being entitled to privilege and extra care.
- jba68, on 07/01/2009, -0/+10you know...
- Rivfader, on 07/01/2009, -4/+13lol I think its funny the dog ran away.
- inactive, on 07/01/2009, -2/+10Rampant speculation.
"dog owners are probably walking their dogs unleashed and pooping in the owners yard or near"
Response to rampant speculation.
"So it's okay for cats to go yard to yard unsupervised/unleashed"
Rampant opinion.
" Cats are superior " - simon182, on 07/01/2009, -2/+10What a pussy!
- jboitnott, on 07/01/2009, -0/+8That cat keeps giving me the evil eye!
- socalftw, on 07/01/2009, -0/+6"I willz take yor cheezeburger!"
- inactive, on 07/01/2009, -0/+5Wow, I've said this more then once in the past two weeks but once again. Come on September.
- AoiTakuma, on 07/01/2009, -0/+5The stories I read involve cougars attacking young men, I could probably get into a cougar on college coed tale though.
- cerejota, on 07/01/2009, -4/+9Is that the best you can come up with, you lame *****?
- SerenaHavoc101, on 07/01/2009, -0/+5Dugg for how the dog "ran to the safety of the middle of the street"
- cmcagle, on 07/01/2009, -1/+6I call shenanigans. Hoppy's alleged "victim" claims that he was forced to the ground and scratched by this cat. I've owned and been around many cats, some of whom were quite ill-tempered. Some of these cats have occasionally attacked me without warning. Never once have I been "forced to the ground" by a cat attack, nor can I imagine anyone larger than a small child being "forced to the ground" by a house cat. I mean seriously... we're supposed to believe that a 10-lb animal knocked over a full-grown adult, then mauled him until he had to go to the emergency room? Give me a break.
- skelooth, on 07/01/2009, -3/+7That's because a big smelly dog leaves large piles of crap he doesn't bury and is prone to attack people. ***** this? No, ***** smelly dogs. I've been attacked by multiple stray dogs while growing up, but I've never been attacked by a cat.
- SalmonGod, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4I can't understand why people prefer dogs as pets anyway.
high maintenance, loud, obtrusive, often destructive/dangerous, dirty, usually dumb as a rock, and requires months or years of effort to curb any of these qualities
vs
quiet, gentle, mostly clean, independent, will adapt to owner through regular interaction requiring no deliberate training effort
I can understand having a dog if I'm out in the country and it can live outside and entertain itself. I don't have to play with it or take it for walks or train it for indoor behavior, and it will be a useful companion when outdoors. Otherwise, the only reason I can think of is people get an ego high off from a pet that, once dominated, is pathetically malleable and will do everything it can to please its master due to its strict, natural sense of social hierarchy.
I've personally grown up having regular contact with both since early childhood and as an adult, I just don't get it. And I personally find dogs and their owners to be a regular pain in the ass where no cat has ever caused me problems ever.
Suburbian dog owners are the creepiest, because everybody in the neighborhood walks their dogs at the same time every day and it's like this regular daily pissing contest where everybody acts as if their dog is better than everyone else's and they want to show it off much the same as the suburban obsession with competitive lawn care. Plus my wife just had a major falling out with her best friend because he married this girl who is an obsessive owner of two worthless yippy lap dogs who are often dressed up in clothing and can't be left alone for more than a couple hours or they'll trash the house.
I knew 3 great, intelligent, well-behaved dogs as a child, and haven't met another since. Since then, as time goes on, I've been developing an ever growing passionate hatred for dogs in general. I know this has little to do with the article, it just inspired me to rant. I'd love to hear somebody explain to me what there is to love so much about dogs. I have to be missing something, because the majority of people I know love dogs and hate cats. - PawnsOfJoshua, on 07/01/2009, -1/+5And from the spirits of the netherworld, if you believe that sort of thing.
- cerejota, on 07/01/2009, -5/+8Dogs are inferior, get over it.
- SeanyMac, on 07/01/2009, -1/+4If a dog can't defend himself against a cat, what kind of dog is he really?
- smashblu, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3They need to do way instain cat>
- PawnsOfJoshua, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Turns them or exposes them?
- SeanyMac, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Dugg for the phrase "ran afoul."
- PawnsOfJoshua, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3I'm assuming he meant build one doobie, or maybe more, and smoke it with Hoppy to chill him out. Then we can call him Floppy.
- inactive, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Yay new Ubuntu distro....!
- inactive, on 07/01/2009, -0/+319 year old cat turns Minnesotans into pussies...
- Megatronz, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3I'd say get the cat declawed. But then again, if this cat can force grown men down to the ground, I'm not too sure that would help.
/s - Brassbud, on 07/01/2009, -1/+4My cat will attack strange dogs on our property, as did our previous cat (both spayed females). However, there was only one instance of attacking a person, and that was because they were teasing it.
Generally she only cares about other cats, and will ignore non-prey animals outside of her territory. She is friendly with our malamute. - inactive, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3That picture...looks like a poster for some 80's horror movie.
- Maddoktor2, on 07/01/2009, -1/+3I couldn't resist:
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2179/kilroycat. ... - SalmonGod, on 07/01/2009, -1/+3"I call Bull ***** on this damn cat not being put down. Dogs have been shot on site for doing less"
Please elaborate, because this has never been my experience. I've seen plenty of dogs get away with all kinds of ***** without consequence, yet kids where I've grown up would talk openly about torturing and killing cats just for fun. - SalmonGod, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2You just reminded me of Reanimator when that ressurected black cat gets thrown against the wall. :D
- allfatherblack, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2I would die of old age long before I allowed anyone to know I felt threatened by a house cat.
- beautifulady, on 07/01/2009, -1/+3I once had a sweet little female cat who chased a great dane out of our front yard. She chased him halfway down the block while he fled with, yep, his tail between his legs. She weighed 7 pounds, the dane probably about 110.
- Suzilla, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2Dugg for Julie Newmar reference.
- bicyclethief, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2I bet one of the first things Buchberger said was: Walden, you lil bitch.
- scoot2006, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2Or at least an episode of America's Funniest Home Videos. But only if Saget was hosting.
- inactive, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2yarp, yarp, yarp!
- 4321234, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2That would be nice.
- inactive, on 07/01/2009, -2/+4That's because dogs are worthless and cats protect us from plague rats.
- skit4king, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2It's great to live in that neighborhood, no rat/mice eating your food!
- PawnsOfJoshua, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YdiptluUOQ
- PawnsOfJoshua, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2Hoppy doesn't have anything on this cat.
