- TooMuchPizza, on 09/07/2009, -0/+12I expected to see President Bush attacked by birds and left disappointed :(.
- FortyCaliber, on 09/07/2009, -3/+13In America we have this problem with the homeless. Unfortunately they are protected (laws against murder.)
Personally I think we should goose them all and feed them to the Canadians. - Ghostalker, on 09/07/2009, -1/+10"Last year U.S. government agents poisoned, shot and trapped 1.7 million starlings, more than any other nuisance species, according to new figures, only to see them roaring back again."
I approve of this use of my tax dollars. - mikemehak, on 09/06/2009, -5/+14In Canada we have this problem with geese. Unfortunately they are protected.
Personally I think we should capture them all and use them to feed the homeless. - TwwIX, on 09/07/2009, -0/+9Add Mockingbirds to the list. Annoying little *****.
- cme884, on 09/07/2009, -0/+8I wonder what morons filled that damned Shakespeare club in the 1890s. You'd think that one person in the group would say 'you know what... that might not be the best idea.' Must have had a lot of time and a lot of money...
- greentable, on 09/07/2009, -1/+7Don't forget about mockingbirds. Annoying little *****.
- keraneuology, on 09/07/2009, -0/+6I like starlings. The most annoying bird is without a doubt the Canada Goose, which spreads more crap than any politician.
- inactive, on 09/07/2009, -0/+6and magpies, and crows, and seagulls, and pidgeons.
- VenDrake, on 09/07/2009, -4/+10Add Mockingbirds to the list. Annoying little *****.
- Krekko, on 09/07/2009, -0/+5Umm, No, Canadian Geese are 10 times worse. I grew up on Long Island (NY), and all the damn Geese would do is ***** all over our damn soccer fields. You know what it feels like running and playing over a field where hundreds of damn geese defecate!?
Edit: We are talking pretty big turds too. Not the small splash that most birds give. - rpl0001, on 09/07/2009, -0/+5leave it to some stupid theatre geeks to ***** up our eco system
- inactive, on 09/07/2009, -2/+7It's perfectly legal to hunt geese.
- lougoose, on 09/07/2009, -2/+6Pigeons: rats with wings.

Or Roseanne
Or Fran Drescher - Checkerd, on 09/07/2009, -0/+3They aren't a problem as long as you don't kill their fiancées.
- wmuldoon, on 09/07/2009, -0/+3Nope.
- MysticKatDaddy, on 09/07/2009, -0/+2We used to shoot a dozen by the shotgun blast on the farm. Those birds are rotten. I don't think cats will even eat them.
- iamabootdisk, on 09/07/2009, -0/+2free to kill.. and you don't even need a license.... wal-mart here i come!
- topgigmedia, on 09/07/2009, -0/+2If you are a Lakers fan, I believe Larry is the most hated bird - even after all of these years.
- palehorse864, on 09/07/2009, -1/+3What about those murderous crows?
- Berkana, on 09/07/2009, -0/+2You idiot. You think you can get away with spamming here?

Profile deleted in 3...2...1... - elYorte, on 09/07/2009, -0/+2Wow, Mike Stark managed to write 800+ words on birds. I hope they gave him some vacation time.
- sab0tage, on 09/07/2009, -0/+2The best way of getting the buggers to move on is to play them a tape of distressed starlings, after an hour or two a night for a couple of days they will be gone.
- 13373h4X0r, on 09/07/2009, -0/+2You fly back to school, now, little Starling. Fly, fly, fly...
- Jerky1312, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1A wild Quaker parrot that doesn't like a specific starling...

- inactive, on 09/07/2009, -2/+3...we do? Unless you live in a train yard how the hell many geese do you encounter?
- themanicho, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1Is that a twitter? :D
- randmcnally, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1whoa whoa, don't go ragging on Canadian Geese dude, that's a crime up here too. they are awesome, and technically aren't planes etc getting in their way? they were here first!
- greggoodwin, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1Dug because the article title starts with "Shock and caw".
- misskari, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1We had a family of starlings living in the exhaust vents of our new house.
We had to have a professional come out and seal off the vents... There was over 10 lbs of nesting material in there.
Starlings are the only bird that will stowaway in a vent. Turds. - Berkana, on 09/07/2009, -2/+3Here's an idea for controlling their population: find a delicious way to prepare them. If there's anything Americans are good at, it's eating.
Kentucky Fried Starlings comin' right up. ^_^ - xxacefirexx, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1Is this article about birds or Bards?
- crowbarred, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1bothers .... rejoice
- retral, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1I'd take 'starlings' over Canada Geese.
- Berkana, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1That is amazing.
- obeythefist, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1Funny the article is cited in SLC. Because when I read the headline I thought it would be about seagulls.
- muzzy, on 09/07/2009, -0/+1It's the Seagulls around here...
- nepidae, on 09/07/2009, -2/+3fois gras
- MelvinSchlubman, on 09/07/2009, -1/+1> don't go ragging on Canadian Geese dude
"The Canada Goose ....... It is quite often called the Canadian Goose, but that name is not strictly correct, according to the American Ornithologists' Union.[2]"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_Goose
They stop and hang out here in Fort Collins, Colorado during migrations. Our former city logo included them for a long time:
http://www.logodesign.com/logo_design/wp-content/o ...
They fly low and honk while flying, which is fun to be under. They don't seem to drop deuces from the air, but I avoid being directly underneith.
They take their time when crossing streets, so they stop traffic. But, they seem to avoid the busier roads.
They're nice to have around, except for what they deposit on the golf courses..
That's all I know. Out. - renanrrinaldi, on 09/07/2009, -1/+1What's the word?
