- The0, on 05/23/2009, -6/+144While the rest of us saw the guy standing on an exercise ball while lifting weights, you immediately jumped to gay anal sex. What does that say about you?
I'll leave you alone to grapple with your sexuality now. - Locke23, on 05/23/2009, -20/+156Yes it is.

- joot2112, on 05/23/2009, -0/+113I just want to add that a friend of mine was working out on a stability ball with a 20 lb weight in each hand. He weighs about 200 lbs and the ball was rated to support "up to 600 lbs". It popped. My friend got a compound fracture (i.e. bones breaking through the skin) in both arms and passed out. That brand of ball is still out there with the same weight rating, despite the company being informed and pending lawsuit. I just stay away from stability balls now.
- tricks574, on 05/23/2009, -22/+108Is it bad I can see how that would be helpful?
Also, thats only like, 135 pounds, and he's got a spotter, so it really isn't all that dangerous. - shrudheuie, on 05/23/2009, -2/+87And thats how daddy wound up in a wheelchair and you wound up an only child.

Dude I'm sorry, that's a lawsuit that I could stand behind.
Compound fractures in both arms.... god. - migvel, on 05/24/2009, -5/+45... can be stupid like all the people no matter the of color of the skin?

+1 the0 - bundwallah, on 05/23/2009, -8/+42Dumb..there's no real benefit to doing squats that way. Plus the way his ankles were positioned are a recipe for disaster. Way to much pressure on the ankles and achilles tendon.
- had3l, on 05/23/2009, -0/+33I love how the guy in the background just arrives at the gym, looks at it for a while, then carries on like it's nothing.
- AshamedAmerican, on 05/23/2009, -1/+32Get back to me when you find the video.
- tidu, on 05/23/2009, -3/+29wait for the gif to finish loading and you'll see
- bradleyland, on 05/23/2009, -0/+26You think if he fell of that ball, 135 lbs crashing down on his neck wouldn't be enough to paralyze him? You think that spotter could snatch 135 lbs out of the air as quickly as he falls?
It's dangerous. It's his choice, but it's dangerous. - Mopbucket, on 05/23/2009, -2/+28Diosjenin, it's apples and oranges comparing doing squats on an exercise ball with doing pseudo-squats on a Smith machine. You aren't using any stabilizing muscles on the machine, which is pretty much the complete opposite of the purpose of this exercise.
- hardtoconfuse, on 05/23/2009, -1/+26New muscles were discovered and destroyed that day.
- inactive, on 05/24/2009, -1/+25I weigh 480 lbs (all muscle) so when I lift a 600 lb barbell while doing this I have to get out my steel exercise ball so that it doesn't crush under the massive pressures involved.
- gemlarin, on 05/23/2009, -1/+24Tell my 4 herniated Lumbar discs that. 50lb television, 1 flight of stairs, no balancing ball act.
It takes quite a bit less than 135 lbs to severely damage a spine when you are thrown off balance. - perhapsimcrazy, on 05/23/2009, -7/+30This is actually one of the best lowerbody stability exercises you can do. All the fat kids on the internet apparently think it is impossible.

- Diosjenin, on 05/23/2009, -3/+25135lb. really isn't much for a squat. I've never weighed over 130lb. in my life, and I've *never* been able to bench within 10lb. of my body weight, but by the end of my junior year of high school I managed to max a 300lb. squat. Granted that it was on one of the vertically guided machines, but even after three years of relative atrophy, squatting 10-20 reps of 135lb. isn't a big deal.
The ball, though... - inactive, on 05/23/2009, -1/+22Follow up video?
