- Adrnshw6, on 08/21/2008, -2/+187I really can't imagine someone being 30 in 1900 and still being alive in 2008.
- superKduper, on 08/21/2008, -4/+150There's something FISHY going on here!
Ever year or so I read about the WORLD'S OLDEST MAN DYING! I think someone is MURDERING them! It's just too much of a coincidence that they keep dying... - poprocksandsoda, on 08/21/2008, -53/+182Christians know this is a lie!!!! Genesis says no man will live more than 120 years.
(sorry if the irony isn't fleshed out since this is just my first Atheist post since losing faith) - Scottypants, on 08/21/2008, -5/+122YOU SHALL NOT PASS.......the age of 139.
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -42/+155you haven't "lost faith", you've gained wisdom
- inkubusfan, on 08/21/2008, -9/+86(insert random joke about McCain's age here)
- HMMaster, on 08/21/2008, -2/+68R.I.P
- Kidtuf, on 08/21/2008, -20/+80And the Lord said, "My Spirit will not strive (abide) with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." (Genesis 6:3)
Well damn. Looks like God just went ahead and pwned you.
Interestingly enough even after God made his statement several in the bible are said to have lived past his ruling of 120 years. So much for "all powerful". - NexusV2, on 08/21/2008, -3/+55The fact 138 is bigger than 120 means he was the oldest guy in the world...making the 120 year old guy not the oldest guy in the world..
- ZutroyZuuts, on 08/21/2008, -3/+54I don't get it. The last world's oldest man died at 113 only 4 years ago.

- tommyjames, on 08/21/2008, -4/+48this is the daily mail.... not the most reliable source
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -1/+45130 is the new 100
- matthewinDRO, on 08/21/2008, -7/+49Moses only lived to 120. I'm switching religions.
- justice7, on 08/21/2008, -28/+69i dont believe it does say that at all .. . some characters in the bible were:
* Methuselah 969 Gen 5.27
* Jared 962 Gen 5.20
* Noah 950 Gen 9.29
* Adam 930 Gen 5.5
* Seth 912 Gen 5.8
* Cainan 910 Gen 5.14
* Enos 905 Gen 5.11
* Mahalaleel 895 Gen 5.17
* Lamech 777 Gen 5.31
* Shem 600 Gen 11.10-11
i dont recall the bible ever stating no one can live over 120. Thats BS. - handheldchimp, on 08/21/2008, -1/+37You sir, have just won six internets.
- Cubeforce, on 08/21/2008, -5/+38138?! I thought the oldest person ever only barely passed 120, so how is it possible this guy was 18 years older than that..?
- rdoger6424, on 08/21/2008, -0/+31Don't insult an American Civil War vet like that!
- NexusV2, on 08/21/2008, -2/+33He wasn't exposed to things such as 4chan. I also hear he was never rick rolled.
R.I.P - jasdf, on 08/21/2008, -1/+28He was 15 when Marty went to the old west.
- Arkz, on 08/21/2008, -0/+27You want to be an elderly Asian man in 119 years? i wanna be a human brain in a super strong human looking robot body, that would be bad ass!
- Braxo, on 08/21/2008, -2/+26It seems everybody that holds the oldest person alive record always seems to lose it quickly.
- RiMac, on 08/21/2008, -3/+29Great, now we can cut him in half to count his rings and get an accurate age.
- HeyArnold, on 08/21/2008, -0/+23There can only be ONE!
- kotrin, on 08/21/2008, -2/+25i hope that's me in 119 years
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -1/+23A quick google search came up with some Revolutionary War Vet called John McCain.
- statrick, on 08/21/2008, -1/+23this is the same thought that jumped into head when i read this
- atgmac, on 08/21/2008, -1/+23It says he's 138, not 13.
- goldenratiophi, on 08/21/2008, -1/+22McCain is old.
- hauntedchippy, on 08/21/2008, -1/+22Daily Mail submission compels me to bury. Seriously, it's the Fox News of the UK
- timusca, on 08/21/2008, -2/+23The Giant Tortoise has the longest lifespan of all animals and its only about 150-180 years. You need to go beat the hell out of your biology teacher.
- Viniator3, on 08/21/2008, -7/+28Genesis 6:3 refers either to the length of time before the flood, which is plausible, or indeed it is a moratorium on all of those incredibly long life-spans common in the Genesis narrative. By the time we get past Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, etc., there is no (as far as I know) mention of anyone living past 120 in the Biblical account.
In fact, a quick read will show that maximum life span has usually been in the realm of only up to—you guessed it—120 years.

Just a thought. - grumpy1377, on 08/21/2008, -1/+21RIP, who is the 2nd oldest man? (first now)
- KennMac, on 08/21/2008, -4/+24@Cubeforce
You see; He would eat, sleep, defecate and repeat. This process would repeat for 18 years longer than the "second oldest". - Filipp0, on 08/21/2008, -4/+23Oh no! Pai Mei is gone!
- mistergoomba, on 08/21/2008, -4/+23so young
- ferrariman60, on 08/21/2008, -1/+20Ageism? That's discrimination based on a persons age. How does this guy's death prove that age based discrimination is "alive and well?" I mean, there's no doubt that people are discriminated against, but I don't see how this is ageism.
- drewsheldon01, on 08/21/2008, -2/+20One, did you even read the article
- boredrph, on 08/21/2008, -2/+20I believe the correct answer is he didn't die at 120
- Wakkyweed, on 08/21/2008, -3/+20When he turned 40 in the year 1910, did his buddies throw him an "Over The Hill" birthday party?
- vilago, on 08/21/2008, -9/+26hear-hear!
- Jeffler, on 08/21/2008, -2/+16WAKE UP SHEEPLE!
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -0/+13You mean McCain is old enough to be this dude's great grandfather.
- atgmac, on 08/21/2008, -0/+13Who's digging this comment down? Do you really believe that the mail is an accurate source?
- jamesgott, on 08/21/2008, -1/+13If this guy was Chinese, he would actually be 75, but the government would lie about his age for another world record.
- CedEx, on 08/21/2008, -2/+13Not me... I hear anyone that wins the "World's Oldest" title seems to die pretty soon after. It's like an omen or something.
- Cubeforce, on 08/21/2008, -4/+15Thanks.
I meant how come there's almost an 18 year gap between him and the second oldest ever? - Stevethegreat, on 08/21/2008, -7/+18For some reason I can't believe he was 138, he barely looks a supercentarian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercentenarian ). Madame Calment (aged 122 when she passed away) is the oldest documented person to ever live in this planet, there seems to be natural limit around the age of 120.
Unfortunately many that claimed that they lived further than that were always proved to be hoaxes and I fear that this man also fakes his time of birth, he looks like he's a 20th century child, in fact I would be impressed if he was even alive in the last decade of the 19th century - DocHoliday22, on 08/21/2008, -1/+11RIP Dude.
