- greenmoonice, on 07/16/2009, -3/+15Crap like that happens quite a bit between roommates. As a cop I have seen quite a bit of roommate violence. Most of the time it's pushing, kicking and punches. But I have seen stabbings, attempted downings, faces cut with knifes, rapes, gang rapes and list goes on and on. On the other side I have seen drugs and guns planted on roommates by other roommates to get 'even' with other roommates. Even if other roommates don't do anything to you there actions can ruin your life. For example if there is a drug bust in your appartment becuase your roommate sells drugs you could be charged as an accessory to the crime. I remember one local case where one roommate was downloading child porn on the other's computer. There was child porn sting and both people were arrested and charged with child porn. Even though the innocent person was let off he still paid tens of thousands of dollars in legal bills and spent several months in jail awaiting trail, since in many times in cases with child porn judges are very reluctant to give low bail. His bail was set at 4 million dollars, well beyond his ablity to pay. He had to spend 6 months in solitary confinement due to safety concerns to await trial.
