Isn't that precisely why you should punish them? How are they supposed to figure this stuff out if you perpetually coddle them? It seems the trend the last couple of decades is to give your little precious princesses a gold star for every damn thing they do, and never sternly punish them, lest you crush their creativity and self-esteem. As if a lack of self-esteem is any kind of problem with a generation that has elevated egotism to epic heights.
Oh, and get off of my lawn, you damn kids!
