We see it on TV -- in shows like King of Queens, though I would probably argue that Kevin James is kind of a stud, and really, that's exactly the point I plan on making-- and we see it in our friends.

I almost always immediately disregard the "perfect" looking guy, because I assume (maybe sometimes unfairly, but usually not) that he is full of himself, and expects the attention, and wouldn't value me as a companion or girlfriend because he feels he could have anyone he wants, and I would be just one more girl he could have whenever he wanted. It's almost a point to prove to those guys, for me. No, just because you're hot, doesn't mean every girl in the area is going to fall for you before you even open your mouth! I usually do go for the off-looking guys, because they appreciate the attention more and make you feel valued and special instead of like a groupie.
