- pentupentropy, on 04/28/2008, -11/+178Crap. Absolute crap. I'd call my mom.. but the fact is she's been dead for 7 years. However, when she was alive, I spoke with her often. We had a close relationship and I love talking about both my parents with other people. My parents were the best. My mom was the type of mom who would beat your kids if they acted out of line with her, but she was also the mom every one of my friends called at 3 am when something terrible was wrong. Mom's are the best. Mine was anyway.
- unknamed, on 04/28/2008, -2/+89I talk to my mom every night... right before she tucks me in and tells me a bedtime story.
- KnightWhoSaysNi, on 04/28/2008, -3/+89Same with me. The reason I don't call my mom is the same reason I don't call anyone: I hate talking on the phone!
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -11/+94I don't phone my mom because the sex line cost $10 per minute.
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -6/+78Not true from myself and most guys I know. I talk to my mom, on average, at least 3-4 times a week. I love my mom. She's a wonderful woman. I could understand some guys not talking about their mothers if she was some crack whore living on the street. lol
- truthmatters, on 04/28/2008, -6/+63I think most women will agree that how a man treats his mother is a huge reflection of his character. If he's kind, attentive, and respectful to his mother, that usually translates to his other female relationships and attitude towards women in general.
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -5/+54I logged in just to digg your ass down and call you a ***** retard.
***** RETARD - KibibyteBrain, on 04/28/2008, -1/+48I think part of the problem with the article is that it doesn't understand that men don't use the phone that often generally. So you might think 3-4 times a week is a lot, but for some girls I know that would be about average for how often they call people they barely know. So the fact that lots of guys call their mothers as often as they do is a real sincere proof of effort beyond what they do naturally, in a manner of speaking. I hate using the phone over IM and email, so the only people I usually call at all are carry out food places and my mom.
- zephc, on 04/28/2008, -1/+47Don't take your parents for granted, they may be gone before you know it.
- fLUx1337, on 04/28/2008, -3/+46I don't phone my mother because she always asks me if I have a girl yet........and I hate lying to her!
- teh_techie, on 04/28/2008, -8/+46Everyone is saying the article is crap and not true.. that you DO in fact talk to your mothers...
It's pretty obvious the digg demographic (you know what I'm talking about) would talk to their mothers... since they likely LIVE with their mothers... - TheThirdLevel, on 04/28/2008, -2/+39Contrary to this article, not all men are matricidal.
Sorry, Stewie. - EvansHall, on 04/28/2008, -2/+38I talk to my mom all the time. I have more problems talking to my dad.
- mparker7410, on 04/28/2008, -2/+33I dislike talking to anybody over the phone and have no problem admitting to a close relationship with my Mother.
- jgambleii, on 04/28/2008, -1/+32I second KaiSe7eN's eloquent sentiment.
- zephc, on 04/28/2008, -0/+27Mom! More Hot Pockets!
- fkr3, on 04/28/2008, -9/+36I love your mum too, but I only call her when I'm drunk.
- consoneo, on 04/28/2008, -11/+37Jesus... 3-4 times a week? Isn't that a bit excessive?
- evileddy60, on 04/28/2008, -3/+28BS!
I call my mommy all the time! - RandomNetUser, on 04/28/2008, -1/+23If I could click that digg button any harder, I would.
- equallyunequal, on 04/28/2008, -1/+22Rubbish, I call my mother everyday! From the basement!
- fkr3, on 04/28/2008, -4/+23Motion passed.
- tabion, on 04/28/2008, -4/+22... and masturbate underneath the covers
- luke374, on 04/28/2008, -0/+17I have so many friends that every time they're talking to their mom on the phone they're pissed off and cussing at them. And for that, I think they're retarded.
- URnotheonly1, on 04/28/2008, -0/+17I talk to my mom all the time. I will agree, dad is more of a problem
- xTRUMANx, on 04/28/2008, -2/+19Ba-Dum Tish
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -4/+21My Mom is dead so the phone rings until the answering machine picks up every single time. But I did call and talk with her everyday when she was alive. I love and admire my mom.
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -1/+17I'm with you, pentupentropy. I'd call my mom, too if she was still alive. Every day she was alive and I was out on my own, I called her.
That could also be because I was an only child and she was a single mom. She was the only thing that I knew I could count on in life. - fLUx1337, on 04/28/2008, -2/+17How well did that go down with your folks? They okay with what you are?
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -5/+20This is a GREAT article...if only ONE WORD of it was true. But in real life, men don't get a guilty face when asked these question. Men talk to their mothers a reasonable amount of time, and they talk about their mothers to friends when appropriate.
Yet another silly online article making ***** up to prove some non-existent point.
This article is SO bad that I am surprised it is not from divinecaroline. - dafragsta, on 04/28/2008, -2/+17That, an internet connection and a bottle of Jerkins will get you laid on Friday night.
- jgambleii, on 04/28/2008, -2/+16You may regret it less if you would stop what you're doing right now, and call her. You never know when a loved one will be taken away from you.
- IEatHamburgers, on 04/28/2008, -0/+14That's OK, I clicked it again for you :)
- El-Taco, on 04/28/2008, -1/+14buried as inaccurate. i love my mother and talk with her frequently.
- CrimsonBlur, on 04/28/2008, -3/+16Without reading the article but just the description, I can already conclude this is absolute *****. Different people have different relationships with their parents. Some people never talk to their parents, some are closer to their mother or their father. Some are very close to their parents but still never call.
The stereotype that men aren't close to their mothers and don't call is just stupid. Plenty of girls don't call their fathers (or mothers) and you don't see people pointing it out like it's a woman thing. - TeraRealm256, on 04/28/2008, -1/+13buried as inaccurate! men do phone their mothers...i do and there are others that commented that agree...
- wjackson, on 04/28/2008, -1/+13I'll be "that guy." I talk to my mom (or whoever picks up the phone when I call the house) every day. Usually the call lasts for less than a minute. It's something that started when I went to college, and it's still part of my daily routine. I don't think there's anything wrong with that (not that I'd admit it if I did, heh).
I'm a technology consultant, I'm a homeowner, I can cook, etc. I'm not dependent on her for anything; calling her is just a part of my day. Don't believe the garbage you hear...mother's are just special. Sue me. - Rev0lver, on 04/28/2008, -1/+13I always give my mom a shout to where I'm headed if I'll be out for a while. Granted it's only fair since I live at home, but I imagine I'd give her a buzz every so often to say whats up.
- midejitsu, on 04/28/2008, -1/+12I have to ask: How does being a nice guy work out for you?
- aaron117, on 04/28/2008, -0/+11Proof that the internet is full of *****!
Great relationship with my mother! - jgambleii, on 04/28/2008, -3/+14I believe you just did...
- RandomNetUser, on 04/28/2008, -0/+11I have a similar great relationship with my mom. Although, I don't call her very often, I stop in to visit once or twice a week. Usually for that weekly laundry run/fridge raid combo kinda visit.
- ScorpioPT, on 04/28/2008, -1/+11*bangs hammer*
- schmitey, on 04/28/2008, -2/+11that girl that just rejected him thought it was
- digjam, on 04/28/2008, -1/+10CALLING UR MOM A BITCH...MAKES U A SON OF A BITCH! SON OF A BITCH.
- lysdexic, on 04/28/2008, -0/+8I believe 100% that what you're saying is the truth. The problem is that those girls want a guy like you because they're all dating *****. Most women are not attracted to nice guys. They say they want them because they NEVER pick them. It's like a smoker saying, "I wish I could quit smoking," and then lighting up.
I was the nice guy, then I changed my game. Not my personality, just my game. My current girlfriend and I have talked about this. She agrees that I am a nice guy, but that she was initially attracted to me for very different reasons because I didn't show her that side of myself until she was hooked. - STARTSOMETHING, on 04/28/2008, -0/+8ok poopsiekins.
- StuTheMeatMan, on 04/28/2008, -1/+9Did nobody get he said Hillary Clinton because of the "3am terribly wrong" thing?
- Rikkochet, on 04/28/2008, -0/+8The dating phase pretty much permanently knocks "phone talking" clear off the list of things guys enjoy doing. :(
- dafragsta, on 04/28/2008, -1/+8This sounds like *****. It seems like from the few comments posted already that moms aren't being neglected. I talk to my mom sometimes 3-4 times a week and sometimes once every two weeks, but we talk pretty regularly and we have a pretty good relationship, considering how much she's ***** me up. ;) We also live ~450 miles apart, so it's not like I'm considering her stopping by as talking, and I'm usually the one doing the dialing.
