Werewolves, people that transform into wolves... hmmm I'm sure if this kid were run out of his village instead of loved he might become someone dangerous living in the bush. I doubt there are really differing degrees of the problem, just differing lengths those who are suffering from it will go to remove the hair on a regular basis.
