- nancyu, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1Angela is my niece. This is a brand new website in progress. Hopefully soon it will be updated to show pictures and include more information and let people get to know Angela and her family. You will love her.
Thanks for digging it.
Love, Nancyu - nancyu, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1Angela won't be with us much longer we have been holding her hand at her bedside, trying to make her as comfortable as possible. The people at the Harris House are wonderful. They love Angela so much. There are constantly people coming in to say hello to Angela, kiss her and hold her hand and talk to her. It is such a difficult time but such a joy to get to know the people here.
Here is an email I recently recieved from the Harris House
.Hi Nancy,
Paula Varney (Adm. of Harris House) shared your e-mail with me this morning regarding a fund raiser to help Joe and Anita with expenses incurred from travel, etc. during their daughters illness. This is wonderful and I'm sure that they will appreciate it more than any of us can imagine. My name is Debbie Wing and I am the Social Worker at Harris House. I was involved in Angela's admission to Strong Nursing Home (now Harris House) all those many years ago. We all love Angela so much. She was a wonderful child who we've watched grow into a wonderful lady.
I know several of Angela's family members but I'm going blank as to whether I have met you before or not. If I'm not being too nosey, can I ask if you are related on Anita or Joe's side of the family? Angela has a wonderfully extended family who often attend our family events and I apologize if I have met you and don't remember. (I tell people that my brain is like a computer and every once in a while things get deleted.)
Once again, thank-you to you, your nephew and any others who are involved.
Sincerely,
Deb Wing LSW
And another:
Nancy, Here are some notes we put together about Angela:
Angela is a happy-go-lucky young lady with a terrific personality. She is a joy to be around. We call her “Princess” with her “Princess Smile”. She has a great sense of humor and can often be seen smiling and/or laughing. When she is laughing, she generally gets all those around her laughing (infectious laugh). She especially like it when people sing to her, but you are never sure why she is laughing hysterically, if she is especially enjoying the song or if it is your attempt at singing, that is making her laugh. Angela generally has a “whatever” attitude and usually “goes with the flow”.
Angela is a head strong woman. She knows what she likes and dislikes and will make it clear to people what her preference is. If she is enjoying your company she will smile and make eye contact, making contented utterances. If she doesn’t want you around, she has not problem telling you to “get out” while shaking her fist. Angela can at times be lazy because she knows full well that if she waits people out, they will do the “work” for her.
Angela is always happy to see her family members and her special friends that have kept in touch with her over the years. She enjoys going out and spending special time with them. Once you have spent any amount of time with Angela you quickly become attached. She is not someone you would tend to forget. She makes everyone feel good even on a bad day.

Angela Marie Lemay, was our princess with an attitude.
She was mostly sweet and loving, but occasionally, down right rude.
Her feisty personality, was what made us love her so.
If you made her mad, she just might, tell you where to go.
She was co-operative or stubborn, depending on her mood.
She was funny, she was sometimes silly, and even a bit crude.
Sometimes a quiet observer just taking it all in,
You’d think she was far away in thought, until suddenly she’d grin.
There were many tasks for which Angela had learned the skill.
But often she’d just give a look that said, “The heck I will”.
She’d say “shut up” to her roommate, and “get out” to the staff.
Then after her out burst, she’d usually have a good laugh.
She often saw the humor in other people’s woes.
But even then she made lots of friends and never any foes.
She loved to make fun of amateurs, when she heard them sing,
She’d wear her bells on her wrist, and she loved to make them ring.
A favorite tune of hers was the Happy Birthday song.
It mad her laugh so hard, that you just had to sing along.
The echo of her laughter down our halls made us glad.
Now the silence left behind, has made us very sad.
Angela rose above unexpected sadness and strife.
Her loving family and friends, gave her a quality of life.
It was indeed an honor to have called Angela “friend”.
We will all love and miss her, until the very end.
But our broken hearts will heal, and Angela would say…
“Live your lives to the fullest, knowing that, I’m okay.”
