Did you see the clip in Norway? That must have been scary. Also does anyone know the music from the video? - atlacatl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16@lava, who said: "Thanks to Digg EVERY day I see I the greatest news story, the funniest items, and now the COOLEST VIDEO EVER! What will tomorrow hold?"
Behold: THE COOLEST COMMENT EVER. - mraustin1337, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I wish I could afford to do that...
Makes you want to travel, huh? - CaptShmo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11that guy is living one of my dreams... big digg
- mrTribal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Shut up nerd.
I hadn't seen it and I'm sure lots of other people hadn't either. - arof, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Matt came to talk at my college a couple months ago, and as part of it there was a group dance, everybody doing the Matt dance. I had a chance to talk with him, and he's definitely a cool guy. He used to work in video games (he created the idea for Destroy all Humans purely as a joke), but got tired of it and decided to tour the world (there's more to that story, but that's all at his site). After his first trip and the video he made for that, Stride (before anyone had heard of them), came to him and offered to sponsor a second trip and video, just wanting a spot in the commercial.
There's a lot of other stuff that went on during the whole trip, a lot of which was very touching and very funny. Read through the blog if you want a more complete view of his whole adventure. - dcipjr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I liked how he danced in the Canyon of the Crescent Moon from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and on the "Red moon desert" background included with XP.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8What do you mean. The song was the best part of the video! Anyone know the name of the song?
- artofwar420, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I want Stride.
- 4DFX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@over900
The song is called Sweet Lullaby, by Deep Forest (says so in credits) - jmann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I made a similar video when I was in Japan and China last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJw1I960hSU&eurl=
And yes, Matt (the guy dancing) did give me permission. If you don't believe me, go here: http://jnhoward.iweb.bsu.edu/dancingvideo.html - revolvingcur, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I like how Guam is just a junkyard.
- TheAkolyte, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Bombarded?! A Plug at the end of a movie is hardly a bombing, sir.
- ictoan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The video is his second, sponsored by a gum company; here's his first vide that he pay for all the trips himself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WmMcqp670s
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The first shot reminded me of the ending of The Truman Show
- rideroyals, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is one of my favorite videos now :]
- StickWST, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5This is very old. But I see people are also finding it for the first time so thats alright.
- KillerJ59J, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5ImTheDarkcyde: Because making and hosting* things cost time and money. They make stuff in their free time, and--as you pointed out--you waste your life here in your free time. You want to make sure people that make legit content not get a cent(sometimes just to make up for their lose) for their time and effort. Since they can't make a legit profit from their talents, how about they ditch that idea and start spamming. Yes, we all know we want 10 more spams everyday.
*Sometimes hosting is free. - raid517, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4White guys can't dance.

old as hell - BAmbrose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3is he dancing or just running in place across the world?
- jprez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i can't believe this hasn't been posted already, it was featured on CNN months ago
- FlapJaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Permission? Why would you need permission to dance around and post a video of it?
That was awesome. - mblitch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Actually from reading the blog, most of the stuff was solo. He'd just have random folks hold the camera while he did the little jig. I think it was a great idea and applaud the ingenuity and opportunity.
- Rikkochet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I saw this video a few years ago and it was around a minute long.. Now there is mention of corporate sponsorship and the video is MUCH longer than the old one I saw.
I'd guess that his first run was out of his pocket until it got popular and he got some sponsorship, but maybe that early vid I saw was just a working draft... - Skyhoper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome. Maybe one day I'll get to make my own too.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Inspired by Phil Collins? Take Me Home was an awesome video with basically the same premise, except with Phil singing instead of dancing.
- IgnatzMouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sonofabitch does get around.....
- drakino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He did a trip in 2005 for 6 months and released a video then. The 2006 video was when the chewing gum company sponsored him to go to more places. More info about the whole thing is on his website at http://www.wherethehellismatt.com/ . He;s been on several shows now, including Good Morning America.
- wakachamo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Indeed. I think that's really what makes it amazing, especially when you find he visited Antartica. :P
