- TBM1748, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Not to be a troll but this has shown up every two months for the past year and a half. Still cool and walmart is getting them in this week also.

Not that expensive either. - Shadowe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Micheal Connely created the one you see in the video, then sold the rights to Air Hogs. the Storm Launcher is the production model of the prototype you see in the video.
- GoddamedGeorge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I just ordered one! I have been flying RC planes for over 15 years, and when I first saw this thing take off, I was saying "*****, I must HAVE one of these things!!"
www.stormlauncher.com is the page to order from. As far as RC plane and radio combo deals go, the price is VERY reasonable, considering you get all of the extras you woulnd't get if you bought it from the 2 places listed on the bottom of the page. - takeiteasy2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7This really is the coolest thing. Where do I get one?
- hongy_r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6RC = remote control.
- jayripley123, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Better yet, why is it not getting dugg?
- lozaning, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4i have a hard time beleaving this thing is made by air hogs. i have 2 air powered planes and 1 remote controlled 1. all 3 were ***** made and broke. not to mention they were all severaly underpowered
- mlkmnz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yup. Coming up, Blackbox's "Ride on Time", C & C's "Gonna make you sweat" and last but not least Miami Sound Machine's "The rhythm is gonna get you".
If you look closely, one of the guys in the video appears to have a mullet. Explains a lot. - ivc-, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here are some better build versions:

http://www.trendtimes.com/hydrofoam.html - snackdrag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2AirHogs has decided to buy the rights to Silverlit Toys products, and of Michael Connally's for the HydroFoam aka Storm Launcher, there is a TRUE 4 channel Storm Launcher in the works with ailerons. The currect AirHogs storm Launcher uses proportional thrust and an elevator instead. Out of the box it's easy-ish to fly. There are brushless motor upgrade kits for it. Or you can wait for the official 4g.
ALL OF THE OTHER HYDRO-FOAMS are knock offs without the aerodynamics Michael Connally put into the real one. He has plans for them on www.rcgroups.com - Jivedaddy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This thing does look awesome, I wonder though how durable it is?
- ne0shell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Be careful - there's something similiar called the "XPV" which looks almost identical. I bought one and it's a rip off. There's no trim control to balance the two engines and of course one is running faster than the other making it very good at doing circles on the ground and not much else. When it does take off it climbs about 6 feet and spins into a nose dive. I'm fairly skilled with RC planes and no amount of control input can overcome the issues with the XPV.
- christiancadeo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2and every time it shows up I still digg it as it is sweet.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why is it that hydrofoam would make a great transfomer
think about it
4 modes
bot plane car and boat - schadenfreude56, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Many companies make similar products. Here are a two examples that I could quickly find:

- Obsession88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Pretty f'n cool, I just wonder how hard it is to fly/drive.
- mrKhoa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can someone tell me what the model of this thing is exactly? Is this the AirHogs Stormlauncher, or is it just something that looks like it?
- uncleboogie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just bought the Storm launcher from TRU last week and it is the best R/C out for $100. You will want to make a couple easy mods so it will be lighter and fly better. This thing rocks over land and water, but the real fun starts when you take it to the air. You will need some practice flying but I recomend the SL to anyone who wants to get into R/C vehicles.
- green1152, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder how hackable the airhogs version is.. Maybe the engine could be overclocked or something.
- gotamd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1***** you
- Nothlit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, the same thing happened to me. But if you go to http://digg.com/users/bossy1 and block him, his comments won't show up here and the page will be fine.
- hm2k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This video has been around for many months now.
There's a new video here: https://www.spinmaster.com/product.php?productid=16204&s=storm - gotamd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Here you go: https://www.spinmaster.com/product.php?productid=16204&s=storm
Only $80 and it'll do that :) - Eagle.007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1a youtube of this was on the front page with 900+ diggs less than 3 weeks ago

http://www.michaelconnally.com - ynggrsshppr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think the spam broke my web browser. I can't click on the links... and this page isn't showing up correctly.
Anyone else having this problem with Firefox? - schadenfreude56, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's not the airhogs one--it's one of a much better quality. The airhogs ones are made for little kids to play with; this one is made for people who have more experience flying RC planes.
- bs0l, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1freakin amazing.
- glbbrown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This was cool two years ago.........
- breakbeat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Plus one had a Dewalt logo on it. I doubt someone would take the time to do that to something made by Air Hogs.
- skyhighrockets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm seeing commercials for something like this a lot on TV.
Man, CartoonNetwork is on too much at my house. - trauts, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Excellent stuff, thanks dude.
- ImPerial99, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2dude! major thanks for the order page, i thought these were custom deals only.
- ImPerial99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1haha...good point
- ImPerial99, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2you tell me.....
- breakbeat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0500 error at the first link. :(
- nicnic77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thats a lot of spam!
- snackdrag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0there's no official 4 channel one yet. unless you get the kits plans and build it yourself from www.rcgroups.com. But they WILL be making a 4channel eventually. the 2 motor one uses differential thrust for left and right.
- GoddamedGeorge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I looked at the video more closely, and the yellow "Dewalt" one has only one motor, where the ones for sale have two. Still, I'm looking forward to getting the one I ordered, and if it doesn't stand up and fly like the ones on the video, then I'm gonna hack the hell out of it and put in a much bigger motor and battery pack!
- pandaura, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Anyone have comparisons on the different brands?
- MScrip, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0People commented on the earlier thread that the boat/plane in this video is the prototype from a few years ago. The AirHogs toy that you can buy is a little different.
It looks cool though. I hope it can do at least some of the tricks! - GoddamedGeorge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0That's what I was thinking!! A lot of RC flyers design their own planes (I have a couple), and I was thinking these were a couple of planes that the guys flying them came up with. It REALLY surprised me to see they're for sale on TV infomercials. I can't wait for the one I ordered to come in!
