- edverb, on 10/12/2007, -11/+165That's some world class embarrassing ***** right there.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+103That's nothing. A few years back we had a prime minister put his hand on the Queen (nobody touches the queen unless you're a blood relation and/or sleeping with the minx).
- shayne_sweeney, on 10/12/2007, -6/+97'...and/or..." -- Am I they only one who thought that was funny?
- canadianguy33, on 10/12/2007, -29/+99Dubya is an embarrassment to the American people.
Let's recap Dubya's recent foolery:
1. "I thought you were going to ask about the pig." That was Bush's response to the following very serious questions about the Middle East today asked by a reporter at his press conference with Chancellor Merkel:
"There's a concern that the Beruit airport has been bombed, and do you see a risk of triggering a wider war, and on Iran, they have so far refused to respond. Is it too far past a deadline or do they still have time to respond."
2. He eats with his mouth open, speaks with a mouthful of food and curses in public.
video: http://www.sky.com/skynews/video/videoplayer/0,,31200-bush_170706,00.html
3. He gropes this chancellor inappropriately.
Dubya lacks the capacity to identify the simple fact that there is a time and place for everything. - Saintlink, on 10/12/2007, -9/+56As a long time student of all things Germanic, I can tell you without reservation that Germans like their personal space. The "hands-off" policy of the sterotypical "German" for the most part is true. Then again, sneaking up behind anyone is enough to freak you out.
- moisie, on 10/12/2007, -11/+46Forgetting political affiliations, I just find it depressing that George Bush is the best person that any party could find to represent America.
- PhillipL, on 10/12/2007, -8/+41I miss boring liberal pushovers. Things were a lot better around here when they were in charge.
- Bioshocker, on 10/12/2007, -4/+37"Elected twice, the second time by a large margin"
If you think the second time was a "large margin", you have a poor grasp of numbers. Winning 70%:30% is a large margin. Winning 51:49 is not. - warmonger48, on 10/12/2007, -8/+37So he's managing to turning the G8 summit to the Benny Hill show?
- drsnooks, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30"and/or sleeping with the minx"
It's one of the great ironies of history that the ruling classes, who believe they are there by divine right, always sought to maintain their "purity" through inbreeding. This has gone on for so many years that the latest generation seem to consist almost entirely of teeth, and yet still it goes on. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+36Bush's G8 conversations really exposed him as an imbecile he is. He creepily molests foreign dignitaries, drop an *S* bombs, talks with his mouth full like a ***** hillbilly, chews with his mouth open, and can't even be bothered to look at someone when he's talking to them.
Anyone who had doubts about his moron status should have realized he was a lost cause when he stood at that door in China:

That's called diplomacy, something here in America we have forgotten all about.
Imagine: the boy king George does this to you, while the cameras are on, and what would you do? Yeah you smile and get back to work.
Let's see now, how has our fearless leader acted while out of town, representing this country before the world.
- In Germany, couldn't stop joking about the pig he was to feast on;
- During pre-meeting press conference with Putin, answered the first eight questions first, not bothering to let Putin take the lead;
- During same, got pawned by Putin over "Iraqi democracy";
- Inappropriately man-handles the Chancellor of Germany, while the world is watching and everyone else is working;
- Stuffs bread rolls in his mouth while he talks over his shoulder with the UK's PM;
- Swears while discussing current troubles in the Mideast, not bothering to care if the world is watching and listening.
Meanwhile, people are killing each other all over the middle-east and Persia. In places the US has direct influence. Given a different president, I would have hoped America's image to the world would have been made stronger. Instead, our leader acts likes a schoolboy and our country's standing in the world falls lower once again.
I may have disliked everything Reagan stood for, but at least he knew how to act on the world stage. We had global enemies then and he knew world summits were not places to act immature. For him, they were a chance to built America's image as a serious power in the world not to be trifled with. - Imagine3, on 10/12/2007, -7/+29She smiles at the end. She liked it. lol
- da5idblacksun, on 10/12/2007, -21/+43The man has issues.
- Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26"She smiles at the end. She liked it. lol"
It was a grimace, not a smile. I personally think Bush has the hots for Merckle.. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -24/+46Bush was never elected. Not in 2000 nor in 2004.

- actionscripted, on 10/12/2007, -7/+24Anyone every considered that perhaps he is MEANT to be an embarassment? Perhaps put in power by some secret society as a pawn to bring about the changes we've seen recently?
I need more tinfoil... - edverb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19...and in between she practically squirms out of his clutches. You "conveniently" left that part out.

Anyone who voted for him must have a poor grasp on just about everything... - Shibmaster75, on 10/12/2007, -8/+23Do a little research on the relationship between Bush and Merkel before going all Sexual Harassment on that Clip. Just spend 5 minutes reading, looking and questioning what is blogged, and you will see they are good friends. He considers her one of his favorite world leaders even though she won't cow tow to his ideas on Guantanamo and other issues dealing with the middle east. Here is a link to a photo slid show of the Presidents last visit to Germany for that Pig Roast. Look at her facial expressions. This is not some stereotyped victim woman who would just smile if she was told to. Come on people the clip is seconds long. - boycy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19It hurts me how this man is such an utter idiot. It physically hurts me how anyone who has so little clue about everything got to where he did. Seriously though, he's the kind of prat you'd hesitate to employ in a fast food restaurant for health and safety reasons.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+25Bush, man, what are you doing? This isn't recess or a family reunion at the ranch!
- alecks, on 10/12/2007, -10/+24In 1555, Nostradamus wrote:

By a large margin? you poor confused bastard. It was one of if not the closest election in the history of the US. - alanspach, on 10/12/2007, -11/+24Remember when his daddy puked all over that japanese banquet.
Classy Folks those W's - adb22791, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13She definitely didn't look happy. You'd think he'd figure out how to not look like such a moron, but it seems he still hasn't gotten the message.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+25The village idiot.
- commongiga, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12"hey brother"
- PhillipL, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16The phrase "large margin" margin is relative as is "great president" and "great guy" you have to compare him to pretty close elections, and crappy presidents to validate a comment like that.
- kakapu4u, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14Yes he's not a stiff. That's his problem; he's too interested in being buddies and not interested in being respectful. I don't want to see our president with his arm around the Japanese prime minister, acting like they're pals. They're not. The only thing they have in common is their authority.
I feel bad for any other world leader with whom he tries to act like buddies, including publicity laden trips to his ranch so they all can act like they're interested in cowboy life. They're not. They want to get to business in the interests of their own country and world peace, in that order. If they wanted a vacation, they would be with their own families somewhere else.
Spare the jokes, the massages, the driving other world leaders' personal antique autos, and once again the jokes. You are not a comedian. The only thing worse than a bad comedian is a bad comedian who thing's he's a hit. Here's a hint: if you're rich and/or powerful and people laugh at your jokes, it's not because you're funny.
He's not the greatest embarrassment to the American people. Our greatest embarrassment is that he was re-elected, and I apologize to the world for our combined incompetence that lead to 8 years under his "leadership." - drizek, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12except nostradamus never actually wrote that. Some guy on the interweb just made it up.
- tpodr, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12@leighbeadon,
I'm sorry, world summits, while the cameras are rolling, is not the time to act "human"
You're right, "projecting a custom-tailored image" is a full-time job. During a summit, while the mideast burns, is the exact time to be projecting this image. Not to be repeatedly seen on camera as a manchild, unable to even stop shoving food into his mouth long enough to talk with Blair. While the world is watching and listening.
Leave the "acting human" to closed door sessions and the Crawford ranch. But when the president of my country is before the world stage, I would have hoped his behavior and manners would be more suited to the situation. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+17It's just not this dumb mother ***** week, is it?
First he says ***** before checking for live mics, then this. - sewalsh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9what about the video with the Italian prime minister?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAPpHWhNTOI - Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11What is with world leaders and odd behavior? First, Putin blows on some kid's stomach, and now this................
What the world leaders need to do, they just need to stop this *****. :) - ytrabbit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I think this is what happens when Bush steps outside the American media and his White House handlers.
- CoryTrevor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yea, I was talking about that in a "200 Dead in Tsunami" thread, but this is a Bush did something stupid thread.
- HP844182, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9@dougm68
Look what he's doing to our country! - Bioshocker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"Ever heard of the popular vote? That's what I was talking about... and last time I checked a million voters is a large margin."
Oh hey, thanks for coming back and proving that you really do have an incredibly poor grasp of numbers. A margin is a proportional measure, not an absolute one. 1 million among a pool of 2 million is a huge margin. 1 million among a pool of 2 billion is not a huge margin.
1 million votes as a proportion of the ~122 million people who voted is not a "large margin". Neither is the 3 million which is closer to the actual separation. - rekka, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11I shan't be happy until I see full on sex between them.
y'know. Just to make Tony jealous. - youareretarded, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Respect is something that is earned and is not a given.
- jperdomo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10I'm disgusted by President Bush and his policies all the time. Yet, this is stupid. She did not look creeped out. Just annoyed by an unexpected pounce on to her shoulders.
- electrichead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You should've seen the kind of ***** Jean Chretien got to. But he was actually able to pull it off.
- pathogenal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6just reminding the rest of the world we could creep up, and massage it in from behind any time we want.
- Joe_rigby, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9As much as I don't like George Bush, I have to say, he wasn't really massaging her, it's this thing you do, kind of like a joke - You come up behind people you're definetly friends with and squeeze like a v-shape with your hands on the shoulder muscles and it kind of tickles and it always makes whoever tense up -
That's what I think it was, but I do believe it was funny. - kefs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5link to video:
http://www.bild.t-online.de//BTO/news/aktuell/2006/07/18/merkel-bush-liebes-attacke/video/merkel-bush-attacke-neu,layout=2.html - leighbeadon, on 10/12/2007, -9/+14World leaders (and other famous figures) live very different lives from you or I--they travel on different circuits, talk to people we will probably never talk to, etc... Also, projecting a custom-tailored image of themselves to the world is a full-time job: the wall is always up. Of course we *know* they are still human, but that's WHY this is fun: you so rarely get to actually SEE a "human moment" involving world leaders.
And I agree, it was just that: a human moment. He was joking around, and she knew it, it was far from a horrible debacle. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if Bush is the guy they all make jokes about every time he goes to the bathroom at international meetings... "Did you see him try to rub my shoulders? Ach." -
