- MiloMindrbindr, on 10/12/2007, -8/+52i kinda feel like punching that guy for some reason and i dont know why...
- mozzep, on 10/12/2007, -14/+45This is a really easy trick to perform. All it involves being double and triple lifts, in which you trick the viewer into thinking you're showing them the top card, when you're really showing them the second or third card from the top. There are only 4 cards. The good part about this trick is how smooth he makes it look.
- jacobo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27i like clean tricks like this +digg
- oGMo, on 10/12/2007, -11/+33@mozzep: So how, with 4 cards, do you get 6 different types? He has a 2 of hearts, a 10 of spades, and then 4 face cards (all the kings). That coupled with the combination of laying cards down and I think it's a little more clever than you might initially think.

- Fallooza, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21K of diamonds
K of clubs
10 of spades
2 of hearts - oGMo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Ah looks like I got fooled, watching again there are only 2 kings. Still, very smoothly performed.
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Some of the related videos are better IMHO. I like this one a lot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUbK1cBHm6E
- vashmyvindows, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I think I've been doing it wrong this whole time; apparently you pronounce the "g" in king =)
- CGorman68, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15You're no doubt going to get flamed. But I at least appreciate your sarcasm. Thumbs up for you.
- nugge7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I think I just pulled a spade in my pants... Great trick!
- cach3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@oGMo
If you look carefully it is in fact only 4 cards: 2 of hearts, 10 of spades, king of clubs, king of diamonds. He shows the two kings twice. - edwardoh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7He has 4 cards, 2Hearts, 10Spades, King Diamonds, King Clubs
In the the first part he, triple lifts, double lifts, single lifts the 2Hearts (eg. it looks like he flips over 1 card but he flips over a couple keeping the 2Hearts buried as he pulls cards off the top).
Then he gets a little more complicated with the 10Spades doing lifts again, then he runs through the 10spades 4 more times but keeps showing you the bottom card for effect
Then he shows the King of Diamonds and drops the 2Hearts.
Then he shows the King of Clubs and drops the 10Spades.
Then he shows the King of Diamonds again.
Then he shows the King of Clubs again.
Obviously he does it well and by talking you through it you can hardly notice what he's really doing. Awesome trick. - Quintus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10It still looks cool
- NtHammer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7so the cards were:
red king, black king, 10, 2? - LucasVB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Seen it before, but the guy deserves a digg for his great skills.
- starphish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4He's pretty smooth at that. He uses a commonly used slight-of-hand technique where you can take a card from any deck position and make it look like it is coming from the top, the bottom, or anywhere in-between. The easiest to learn is taking the second to the bottom card and making it seem as if it is the bottom card. I have a couple tricks like that. I have a 3 Card Monte variation that uses this technique. Instead of using a "throw" technique like the street guys, I use a slight-of-hand like this guy. He's much better than me at pulling from all positions. I'm sure there are websites somewhere that can teach this.
- Ebeniz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Yes
- starphish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No, it's not news. Digg isn't a news site. From the dig "about" page: "Digg is a user driven social content website."
This is content. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3All these people trying to explain this "trick". Have none of you considered the possibility that he can manipulate space time? That's how i think he does it, No trick, No digg.
- ActiveMatx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Who cares if its not news. At this point, DIGG is more about stuff then just "news". For me, its about cool sites, and I personally thought this video was pretty nice. +Digg for me.
- teddyrux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That was absolutely phenomenal. It's worth checking out.
- priceless721, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yeah i want to hit him too and in no way is this unbelievable the guy loses all my confidence and love for having an old mac puck mouse also (By the way i love macs, seriously.) the worst apple invention ever.
- fmalloc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I think the trick is in making the watcher believe you are always taking only one card from the stack, where in fact you sometimes have to take 2 or even 3 of them (looking as 1).
- Ebeniz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Cool trick, well performed... but if you want to see unbelievable... go to "wayne houchin"'s website, click Video then UNREAL... now that's unbelievable
- mozzep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"I don't know how this trick is possible"
why don't you bother to read the first few comments before posting? - theprez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah, I liked the trick, but what the guy's saying is annoying. Maybe it's his voice.
- buzzert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@fishbert: OMG it's Gupta!
- mozzep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3actually, he did have four cards. this trick is very common and it's called Jumping Gemini.
- JeremyBanks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"As someone stated earlier"
Then why state it again, or not at least reply to the original post? - candiru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2kinguh.
- anguijm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's why Digg considers itself 'social bookmarking', which, iirc, includes things like this as well as news.
- dianesummers, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1Ecards site http://www.squidoo.com/Ecardsgreetings has simialr content!
- fishbert, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3You want some spiffy slight of hand card tricks? Do a search for Ricky Jay -- not just an awesome magician... he's also been a James Bond bad-guy.
http://www.magicdirectory.com/jay/ - MrBabyMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, CGorman68, you get the "sarcasm recognition' award. I was joking, of course.
- haasim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The most baffling trick I have ever seen was performed by an old friend. He would have someone pick a card in their head and "really concentrate" on the card. He would then reveal the card in his deck. He tried it on me and it was very unsettling, I can't even begin to understand how he did that without going into "X-Files" territory.
- kickarse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've seen much better and much cleaner. His changes were horrible!
- swazooe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what the hell this trick is crap its the 4 card monte anyone can do it after about 10 minutes
sometimes i wish when people -digg a comment you could still be able to see it *crys* all the effort to click [show comment] ...so many times - hurlothrumbo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no kidding, that's the one that should be on the front page.
- ZephyrWest, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2He must be damn good at slight-of-hand because I paused the video whenever he was about to pull a trick and it looks legit. It really does look like he's pulling cards off the top. O_o
- yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow that is cooool.
- Green_Hornet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ricky Jay is The man!!
http://linkingpage.com/jayarchive.html - allenu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Brought to you by Champion sportswear.
- w00master, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The efffect is by Darwin Ortiz. The "performer" (and I use quotes purposefully) uses the EXACT SAME PATTER as Darwin Ortiz. For god's sake, come up with your own style and patter! Please.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@ebeniz
Looked at that guy's site. Seems like a cheap huckster. His tricks are nowhere near as smooth or convincing as this one. Also he wants you to buy stuff. In the "invisible palm" there is fairly obvious use of video cropping in order to achieve the illusion. Some of the others look equally dodgy/unpolished. - EochaidRiata, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Looked like mainly seconds.
- phort99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Funny... Whenever I draw 4 cards off of a deck they're all different!
This guy is the master of subtlety. Or one of them, at least. - binderhead, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5I hate this too, but you saw the clip either way, why complain?
When someone leeches bandwidth by embedding youtube videos into their own site without a redirect, thats something worth getting whiney over.
(A bajillion idiot myspacers already do this to people by making their backgrounds call an image from someone else's site.) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1...
