- Hammer107, on 03/03/2008, -103/+1654That scumbag is a real man he is.....that is humiliating that a US soldier would act like that.....I pray that he gets what is coming to him.
- magoblygoo, on 03/03/2008, -397/+55what is supposed to have coming to him? a bullet? nothing over their is worth a human life. call me bias but, when i was over there, nothing meant more to me than having the guy to my left and right make sure that he got to see his family again. this guy may have been acting stupid and thought that animal cruelty was funny. that doesn't make it right because he is military or American, but he doesn't deserve what coming to him. maybe you should think next time you open that big hole in your face.
- NaziHatinChimp, on 03/03/2008, -20/+202Allow me to take a moment to think before I open the hole in my face.
*Thought for a moment*
***** that guy ***** him.
"call me bias but, when i was over there, nothing meant more to me than having the guy to my left and right make sure that he got to see his family again." I wasn't aware that being a good soldier and not throwing puppies off a cliff was mutually exclusive. Just because you go to Iraq, doesn't mean you get a throw puppies off a cliff card. You did your time, deal with it. I ain't gonna cry for you or that *****.- magoblygoo, on 03/03/2008, -126/+11I didnt ask you to cry for anyone.
- SilentJay74, on 03/03/2008, -7/+287There is a followup story to this right now. He was not a soldier but an ***** who happens to be a Marine. In my opinion, being a former Marine and all, this son-of-a-bitch does not deserve the title Marine. He has been identified as Mortari on the video. So people claim to have found his Bebo profile. In this profile he claims to be heading back to Hawaii soon. I called the bas Provost Marshal (Military Police) in Hawaii. They have all the links for this video and they will be investigating the matter. This is conduct unbecoming of a United States Marine, and is punishable by Court Marshal. Please do not judge everyone in uniform based on the actions of this one *****.
- urbandistrict, on 03/03/2008, -49/+9But that's just it, he *is* a Marine. As a Marine you should know this sort of thing happens all the time. I hate to scoff at the high-morals argument but battle-stress apparently makes you do stupid things. I certainly would not shred a tear for him should an IED lead him down the same path he led that defenseless animal.
- SilentJay74, on 03/03/2008, -1/+58Dude I agree that he has the title Marine, but a jackass like this does not deserve that title. I earned it on Parris Island, I fought in Afghanistan and Iraq, at no time did I or would I ever, find an excuse to throw a puppy off of a cliff. This guy has been reported to the base provost marshal where he is stationed. I would highly recommend everyone to do the same. He is stationed in Hawaii. Here is the base website:
http://www.mcbh.usmc.mil/ - johnnick, on 03/03/2008, -1/+37Well done, Jay. Thank you for taking the initiative to make sure this gets investigated properly.
- SlappyMc, on 03/03/2008, -2/+23Good Work jay..
- SenorCardgage74, on 03/03/2008, -7/+11So he's a Marine when he does something good and not a Marine when he does something reprehensible?
- SilentJay74, on 03/03/2008, -2/+22As a Marine your honor is supposed to set you apart from everyone else. Honor is the one thing that as Marines we should always hold dear. Doing something like this, is dis-honorable. PERIOD. When you lose your honor or do not act like a professional Marine that you are supposed to be, then you do not deserve me ever calling you Marine.
- christianw, on 03/03/2008, -13/+10jay thank you for the info...
that said, lets see that douchebag try to pick on someone his own size. i guarantee you, if he tried to throw me off a cliff it would be the last effing mistake he ever made.
freakin coward.........
p.s.
RIP Puppy doggie =( - bbardlbradd, on 03/03/2008, -1/+9Marines are highly professional people, and in general, more so than anyone in any other branch of our military. Things like this are not morally acceptable to the people that they fight for, and I'm sure people's lives weren't saved or their mission required this marine to do this.
I hope he's treated like the puppy. - coyote1284, on 03/03/2008, -2/+11@SensorCardgage
Not exactly, SJ's sentiment was that the Marine deserves to have the title stripped from him and it appears that is likely, just like the ***** that rape local girls. Thousands of US Armed Forces members live out their entire careers without behaving like animals, but unfortunately some sick ***** make it to active service. I'm not going to assume all McDonalds employees are psychopaths because of the kid who went on a shooting spree in that Omaha mall. @magoblygoo Court Marshal. That's what I hope he gets that should be coming to him. - TecHeavy, on 03/03/2008, -0/+6Thanks Jay....I hope that asshat gets in a lot of trouble for his actions.
- urbandistrict, on 03/05/2008, -1/+2The reality is, all you have to do to "earn" that title is complete the crucible to end boot. The honor of being a Marine is just the background music they feed your brain as they churn-out another pack carrying trigger-finger.
Deny it all you want, but that's reality.
- jehan60188, on 03/03/2008, -14/+12You make a good point Jay. It's so easy to judge an entire group of people based on the actions of a select few. Unfortunately, we only see videos of soldiers throwing puppies, or hear news stories about them raping civilians.
I would love to see more stories about soldier's setting up orphanages, or hospitals.- FKnight, on 03/03/2008, -24/+11But those would be buried on Digg because the Digg party-line is to make the United States look evil as a whole.
- SlappyMc, on 03/03/2008, -1/+15http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=725_1203547076
I found that last night.. made me smile a little - coyote1284, on 03/03/2008, -2/+11You won't because stories of people doing what they're supposed to be doing doesn't get ratings/attention. "250000 soldiers enjoyed a quiet day as no one was shot at " is not news.
- TheReport, on 03/03/2008, -3/+7Just because he has probably set up orphanages and set up hospitals doesn't cancel the fact that he just threw a ***** puppy off a cliff.
- FKnight, on 03/03/2008, -24/+11But those would be buried on Digg because the Digg party-line is to make the United States look evil as a whole.
- NaziHatinChimp, on 03/03/2008, -0/+5I wasn't trying to judge all marines etc with my comment if thats what your thinking jay.
- SilentJay74, on 03/03/2008, -1/+7Oh I know you weren't judging man. My reply was more along the lines of agreeing with you. I wouldn't shed a tear for that piece of ***** either.
- blueRAP, on 03/03/2008, -12/+1So you cried for the puppy?
- JEWestbrookJR, on 03/03/2008, -21/+70I'm thinking before I open my face hole.... and I have to say I DO hope he gets what is coming to him. And I REALLY hope that it is a bullet. Any one who will abuse a defenseless little animal like that could die for all I care.
- norman619, on 03/03/2008, -42/+3Please tell us what's coming to him.
- EricSchC1, on 03/03/2008, -1/+8A fate at least as bad as the dog he tortured and likely killed.
- coyote1284, on 03/03/2008, -1/+8Court Marshal and military PMITA prison (far worse than regular PMITA prison)
- Zzone, on 03/03/2008, -3/+27@Norman
You certainly are not the sharpest tool in the shed. - TrevorBelmont, on 03/03/2008, -41/+9Human life > puppy.
- EricSchC1, on 03/03/2008, -13/+11puppy's life > idiot soldiers "defending our freedom" in an inlegal and immoral war
- coyote1284, on 03/03/2008, -7/+12"puppy's life > idiot soldiers" FTFY, the rest was just unneccesary. Tens of thousands of soldiers serve their country everyday without killing babies, puppies, or raping young girls. You won't hear about that because "eveyone did their job" is not news.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/03/2008, -0/+18At least a dog can be a good companion. I would hate to be standing next to a guy that could throw animals to their deaths all day and still not realize it's a bad thing.
- Napalmhaze, on 03/03/2008, -1/+6What is your point?. Lets suppose for a moment that Human life > Puppy. Does that give the right to some ***** to throw a puppy off a cliff? Why is that a justifiable action? Humans = Animals. If its ok to do that to them then its ok to do that to you, now kindly go throw yourself off a cliff TROLL!
- benbondu, on 03/04/2008, -2/+0Agreed. All human life is greater than animal life; even cute little puppies. There's a reason we don't execute people for killing animals. In fact, most of the western world has decided against executing people for killing people.
The dog probably died on impact. I've known guys who have done much worse things to animals when they were younger. They turned into relatively productive citizens. It's sickening, yes. But it's even more sickening to wish death on another person. I'd even go so far as to call it insane when the only reason is a dead, and as far as we know, ownerless puppy. - urbandistrict, on 03/05/2008, -0/+2Puppy > TrevorBelmont
***** idiot.
- Divals, on 03/03/2008, -0/+15@TrevorBelmont
Yeah, that puppy sure looked threatening. I bet it could've killed five, maybe six people if he hadn't taken matters into his own hands first.- TrevorBelmont, on 03/03/2008, -14/+6You misunderstand me. I didn't mean to say that the puppy had to die so that he could live but seeing as there are only three words in my comment I understand how it could be misunderstood. What I meant is that wishing a man to be killed because he killed a puppy is ridiculous. This guy clearly did something terrible and cruel but I don't think that he should forfeit his remaining years because of it. To suggest that he should is to me worse than puppycide.
- jlmillstein, on 03/03/2008, -0/+6Watching this video makes me sick.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/03/2008, -1/+7Humans are much more capable of things, and it's important to make sure that this power is held in check by ones self. In my honest opinion, the puppies life is worth more than a person who is mentally unstable or finds pleasure in murdering animals.
The puppy could never become as big of a problem as that guy could be. - Dokkodo, on 03/03/2008, -0/+6@jlmillstein
That's why there's no way in hell I'm going to watch it. All I need is the headline.
- JEWestbrookJR, on 03/03/2008, -3/+10Norman... here's the funny thing about a thread. Typically for an embedded comment to make sense, you have to read the comments above it. Crazy, I know! And apparently, you didn't even read all of the comment in question since I clearly stated that what I hope he has coming is a bullet. Now run along little fella, the big kids are talking.
- jamee360, on 03/03/2008, -15/+1and are u gonna pull the trigger that sends the bullet to this guys head??
didnt think so u loser, go outside and get a life! - chris13th, on 03/03/2008, -3/+9Jamee doesn't need to be on here. Ever again.
- EricSchC1, on 03/03/2008, -3/+4"and are u gonna pull the trigger that sends the bullet to this guys head??
didnt think so u loser, go outside and get a life!"
@ jamee360: anybody who thinks we a justifiable purpose for being in Iraq in the 1st place is morally suspect enough to not warrant living after terminating any living thing. Granted, he didn't commit murder in the legal definition of the word, but that guy's a scumbag and serves no purpose on the planet, let alone "defending our country" in this senseless war. - coyote1284, on 03/03/2008, -2/+3"anybody who thinks we a justifiable purpose for being in Iraq in the 1st place is morally suspect..." other than attempting to restablize an area that we were responsible for destablizing. Yeah, going after Saddam while still in the middle of going after OBL was a really ***** dumb move in the first place. And I agree, the Marine in question is a sorry excuse of a human being. I don't know where I'm going with this, just that we screwed up Iraq, we are therefore responsible to fix it.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/03/2008, -2/+3@Jamee360
I can say that there are a many things in this life that I disagree with, but I know that it would be expensive and difficult for not only myself, but everyone around me, if I was ignorant enough to assume that I should "pull the trigger that sends the bullet" to anything that I disagreed with. - jamee360, on 03/03/2008, -5/+0@bbardlbradd
all i am trying to say is that people shouting for this guy to be blown up by an IED or shot, are overreacting and that they would never actually pull the trigger to kill this guy, so why imply it.....?? - JEWestbrookJR, on 03/03/2008, -1/+4So jamee.... I think if you evaluate your comments, you will find that you are not a popular asset to this online community. The highest digg count any of your comments have is 0. Most fall in the negatives. Maybe you should just move on. Give myspace a try! Even if no one else likes you, you can fall back on being friends with that Tom guy. But no one here really gives a damn what you have to say.
- jamee360, on 03/03/2008, -4/+1@JEWestbrook
i think if u will take a step back and see that the reason my digg count is low is because i am of the minority in this discussion......ie the people who say that they realise what this guy did was wrong and he should be punished for it. ie. not the people who are demanding an eye for an eye (really?? a humans life for a dogs life??), and that this guy should be killed. And if you will take time to notice, everyone else that has made comments such as mine have a low digg count cause the majority (ie the 'mob') are so ignorant that they dont want to listen to what anyone else has to say, ie the people with perspective and intelligence.
"I'm thinking before I open my face hole.... and I have to say I DO hope he gets what is coming to him. And I REALLY hope that it is a bullet. Any one who will abuse a defenseless little animal like that could die for all I care."
now i found this nice little comment u made earlier...........interesting isnt it dont you think, i think it shows your complete and utter stupidity that you would literally kill a human to save an animal.
definition of a mob:
1. A large disorderly crowd or throng
2. To crowd around and jostle or annoy, especially in anger or excessive enthusiasm
3. a crowd bent on or engaged in lawless violence.
this, my friend is the category you fit into, and that is why society has no need for the likes of you, but you dont here us demanding that people like you be killed, so we end up having to live with ye mentally deficient fools
- jamee360, on 03/03/2008, -15/+1and are u gonna pull the trigger that sends the bullet to this guys head??
- norman619, on 03/03/2008, -42/+3Please tell us what's coming to him.
- mickstephenson, on 03/03/2008, -4/+43Did he actually say that he wanted him to die? what he did is probably an offence which can be court marshalled for, and at least severely repremanded for making a spectacle of an already shamed US military. So punishment is what is probably coming to him.
- mccartyba, on 03/03/2008, -3/+25I may not wish him death, but if it happens... One less jackass around, I guess. I would find it quite funny if some insurgent throws him off a cliff, though. Then again, I'm sadistic. But I do love animals!
- mickstephenson, on 03/03/2008, -0/+7Yeah I feel that way too.
- DRINKxREDxBULL, on 03/03/2008, -5/+2Maybe you can pretend that is not what he meant, but a dozen or so others have.
- norman619, on 03/03/2008, -3/+1Doubtful.
- moofer, on 03/03/2008, -2/+7Looks like the military is already running damage control by having the video yanked.
Enjoy hell ass hole.
- dlllb, on 03/03/2008, -21/+67Is there any wonder no-one likes America anymore?
- norman619, on 03/03/2008, -39/+16Comments like yours illustrate the stupidity of the gerneral public. Paint judge a group by the actions of this one person. Grow up.
- prophetpimp, on 03/03/2008, -7/+14Its not stupid. Its the Truth. I use to be Pro American but seeing the stuff you guys have been doing in recent years has really really changed my View. Maybe not all of you are assholes but from the looks of it the Majority are.
- coyote1284, on 03/03/2008, -1/+12@prophet
not the majority, just the loudest, most obnoxious, attention starved of us... *****, that is the majority. - makkaveli19, on 03/03/2008, -1/+3thats funny, it's not like america does that. i get hassled for being born in a country and leaving there when i was 8. i have not been there for 11 years and somehow i'm a terrrist.
- Leetamus, on 03/04/2008, -2/+0by this one action omg your dumb
- Zzone, on 03/03/2008, -6/+37again @norman
This soldier wears the American Flag on his sleeve, he represents this country! - enmand, on 03/03/2008, -3/+22@Norman,
I'm fairly sure that what dlllb was saying, was, this stupid act, coupled with an obscenely stupid acts by American agencies, people, and the government itself is a large reason why the majority of the population of the rest of the world aren't big American-fans anymore. Perhaps some thought before you open your mouth again is in order. Besides, isn't your comment a little... hypocritical?- dlllb, on 03/03/2008, -3/+1Thats the one. Along with the alarmingly large collection of ***** wearing your flag on their sleeve posting videos of them having 'fun'... There really is no wonder. One day you'll get whats coming...
- jamee360, on 03/03/2008, -2/+1@dlllb
so would u like to enlist so as to make the the wrongs of america right?? - dlllb, on 03/04/2008, -0/+2I'm English.
- rhinitus, on 03/03/2008, -2/+0i was waiting for someone to say something stupid
- 1timeuser, on 03/04/2008, -1/+1Yeah. All us Americans just sit around throwing puppies off cliffs all day. Dont make generalizations.
- dlllb, on 03/04/2008, -1/+1What's said is said. You can hide behind your bland statements all you like but when anyone see's this kind of behaviour coming from people you give weapons and power to sometimes a generalization works best while summing up ones anger. That said, my original post was an over-generalization and was meant to be aimed at the military, not the general population. Apologies.
- 1timeuser, on 03/04/2008, -1/+1Hmmm. In my opinion generalizing in an attempt to sum things up while enraged usually leads to..... someone sounding like a racist, a xenophobe, or just a really big douche.
- norman619, on 03/03/2008, -39/+16Comments like yours illustrate the stupidity of the gerneral public. Paint judge a group by the actions of this one person. Grow up.
- petrodollar, on 03/03/2008, -9/+35I'm guessing you didn't feel quite the same way about all the innocent Iraqis who got gunned down because US soldiers couldn't understand what they were saying and thought they looked funny.
- DRINKxREDxBULL, on 03/03/2008, -35/+10I'm guessing you also don't have clue about what the ***** its like to be there, or what is actually going on there.
- petrodollar, on 03/03/2008, -6/+13I know it's stressful, and I'm sure popping of a few rounds and random passers by is good way to let off steam. I'll give them credit for having good taste in music: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids. ...
- DRINKxREDxBULL, on 03/03/2008, -18/+7Those are contractors, not soldiers *****.
- petrodollar, on 03/03/2008, -6/+13They're former soldiers who were deemed "good" enough to get hired as contractors and go fight for freedom.
- MWeather, on 03/03/2008, -4/+13Yeah, because Blackwater doesn't recruit soldiers, right?
- mickstephenson, on 03/03/2008, -1/+8Yeah and I am guessing the British, Australian and Polish troops don't know either.
- Testiculese, on 03/03/2008, -0/+4But those are only people, this was a puppy! (Yes I'm serious... :) )
- DRINKxREDxBULL, on 03/03/2008, -35/+10I'm guessing you also don't have clue about what the ***** its like to be there, or what is actually going on there.
- chronichyjinx, on 03/03/2008, -3/+5GFY *****...
- cardyology, on 03/03/2008, -14/+8This guy is a *****. Plain an simple & I hope the iraqis catch him & behead him. Or torture him, anything really as long as its slow & as painful as possible. What a piece of *****.
- Aldinach, on 03/03/2008, -55/+6These guys get shot at everyday. The least of their worries is a puppy. The real cruelty is war.
- quisph, on 03/03/2008, -1/+29If "the least of his worries is a puppy" then I would expect that he would just ignore the puppy. If instead he goes out of his way to throw a puppy off a cliff, then I would say he IS worried about puppies in a rather unhealthy way.
- EricSchC1, on 03/03/2008, -3/+3"The least of their worries is a puppy."
FAIL. The least of any human beings worries should include not behaving like an inhumane violent animal. - jbrowng, on 03/03/2008, -1/+6"The real cruelty is war"
And so abusing defenceless animals is a way of relieving the stress of these horrors and lightening the mood? - Bodhinature, on 03/03/2008, -0/+2And why should they add to the cruelty that's already there, small in comparison that it is?
- jm4847, on 03/03/2008, -3/+26Good job validating the stereotype that soldiers cover for each other's ***** even more than cops.
- magoblygoo, on 03/03/2008, -25/+7Im not a soldier. I am a Marine.
- urbandistrict, on 03/03/2008, -6/+17Translation: "I am not a thinker, I am an idiot"
- coyote1284, on 03/03/2008, -3/+1@urban
To be fair, the average soldier isn't much of a thinker in the first place, but is a magnatude or 2 brighter than the average Jarhead. For evidence, I just have to compare a couple uncles. Now Zoomies and Seamen, that's where real thinking comes in.
- mickstephenson, on 03/03/2008, -6/+21A marine is still a soldier dickface.
- magoblygoo, on 03/03/2008, -21/+5No, not even close. you are an idiot and have no idea what you are talking about.
- mickstephenson, on 03/03/2008, -3/+18No, I am speaking the use of the English language. Soldiers may be used in your military for a term that refers to members of the Army and Marine is used for members of the Marines. But ALL members of military forces can be termed soldiers.
- magoblygoo, on 03/03/2008, -12/+5very well, then i apologize. i just didn't want to be categorized the same. I DO NOT believe in the war but i hate when people who have no clue about how stressful it is to be there want to put there two cents in and criticize.
- EricSchC1, on 03/03/2008, -2/+2@ magoblygoo:
I feel really sorry for you and all the other "soldiers" out there too ignorant to engage in any healthy form of stress management, While, being a soldier most likely is an immensely stressful job, there's better healthier ways of relieving stress, and anyone lacking the foresight to pursue said healthy means of stress management, especially "brave, highly trained defenders of America's freedom" doesn't deserve the title of 'Human'. Lots of people in this world are dealing with job stress on par with military personnel and you don't see them throwing puppies off cliffs. The operative word, being "PEOPLE". That guy was the kid in school who poured salt on snails, beat up weaker children for their lunch money and laughed at the suffering of others. - Dokkodo, on 03/03/2008, -0/+5@EricSchC1
Exactly. That's why this behavior is inexcusable. If stress is the reason for throwing a puppy off a cliff, then you need to be out of the service and getting serious mental treatment. This guy is a danger to every thing and every one.
- stronglikedan, on 03/03/2008, -17/+5No, marines are the guys that clean up the equipment for the real soldiers.
- magoblygoo, on 03/03/2008, -11/+7right, thats why the Marines are still in iraq? ive seen how tough you soldiers are. you may be a badass on digg but you are still just as worthless as all the rest of the 1.2 million other targets..er...soldiers
- mickstephenson, on 03/03/2008, -6/+8magoblygoo commit warcrimes much? you sound like the type. I'd have hoped Sold.... ooops sorry Marines would be able to keep there cool a little better.
- Dokkodo, on 03/03/2008, -1/+4@magoblygoo
Wow...aren't you people supposed to be working together for the better of America?
- quaxon, on 03/03/2008, -10/+3no marines are jarheads who deserve nothing less than torture.
- magoblygoo, on 03/03/2008, -25/+7Im not a soldier. I am a Marine.
- neko6, on 03/03/2008, -3/+21"but he doesn't deserve what coming to him" - congratulations, you've just won the stupidest comment of the day award :)
- magoblygoo, on 03/03/2008, -17/+2how? your a ***** moron
- br0ken1128, on 03/03/2008, -0/+8No, he's right - that line was pretty retarded.. and yes this guy deserves some serious punishment for his actions. I don't care what his service record is like, it doesn't excuse throwing an innocent animal from a cliff .. there are consequences and he'll have to face them, I have no doubt about that.. so yes he does deserve what's coming..
- bejayel, on 03/03/2008, -4/+2Your FACE.. HAHAHA
Wait that made no sense. I wish i was 12 again so i could make retarded comebacks that make no sense, then walk away with a sense of accomplishment. - mablung, on 03/03/2008, -0/+9***you're*** If you are going to call someone a moron at least type it out correctly.
- Amplix, on 03/03/2008, -0/+4... his a ***** moron???
Who's the moron again? - dmallymally, on 03/04/2008, -1/+0HAHAHAHA patriots LOST
- magoblygoo, on 03/03/2008, -17/+2how? your a ***** moron
- artliquide, on 03/03/2008, -2/+24I'm confused. What do the horrors of war and serving our country (regardless of the disdain many of us feel that we're over there in the first place) have to do with performing an act which would be illegal and severely punished over here? We may not know firsthand what it's like to be over there, but why does that excuse this pathetic behavior? Are you saying that taking out frustrations, anger, and in some cases psychosis due to being involved in a war, on a defenseless creature is justified because of what our men and woman have to endure? Sorry for having high standards, but as ambassadors of our nation, our troops should be abiding by every law we have here in the US. If our troops are insane enough to do this kind of thing, it's time to get them some help, not justify unlawful, unethical and disturbing behavior.
- johndi, on 03/03/2008, -0/+15You're not confused, they are. Anyone else remember that jackass in California that threw a dog into traffic? It doesn't take a war to bring this kind of antisocial behavior about and war doesn't excuse it.

Submit this to every source you can find.
This is a true news story about cruelty, and inhumanity on the level of Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo. US Soldiers in the Middle East torturing and executing civilians and animals in front of family and friends, torturing animals, for the enjoyment. This is not a rant or rave, it is not a myth. These soldiers VIDEO TAPE these offenses, which capture them laughing and joking while committing these indecencies, then post these videos on the internet for friends to laugh at. This is a disgrace to the US Armed Forces, a disgrace for decent Americans, and humane peoples the world around.
This link features a number of these videos, topped off by a recent video of a US soldier laughing as he hurls a crying puppy off a cliff.

2: This is still a sickening video.
3: There is a high likelyhood the 'puppy' he threw off the cliff was fake, watch it as it flies, no flailing, attempting to right itself. Just end over end. I'm betting they switched the real puppy and threw a stuffed toy off the cliff.- XerxesOxalis, on 03/03/2008, -6/+33Or, they killed the puppy and threw the corpse off the cliff, slightly less morbid than throwing a live puppy off the cliff. - elipabst, on 03/04/2008, -1/+2It looks like one of those realistic looking stuffed dogs to me. Plus watch the video more closely...it's the radio guys antennae in front of the dog that looks like a zip tie. Plus if you've ever owned a puppy, you'd better believe they'd be squirming all over the place and trying to bite off anything holding their paws like that. If you look closely, the dog never moves at all, plus it bounces oddly, like a hard object, just like a stuffed doll would do.
- prottoss89, on 03/03/2008, -8/+53. No they aren't.
- artliquide, on 03/03/2008, -11/+16Even if it is fake, even if the dog's already dead, it's irresponsible to make this video public, since it puts out the appearance that a soldier is doing something so disgusting and illegal. That is definitely US issue. I love it when people post opinions and wish people to accept it as fact.- XerxesOxalis, on 03/03/2008, -1/+2I love it when people think they are posting facts, and really have no clue what they are talking about. The reason I say that is not an official US uniform is the lack of identifying patches where they should be. That may well be a Marine uniform set, but it is not an official unifrom. As someone mentioned above, that doesn't exclude this guy being a marine, as he would have access to purchase the uniform easier.

- Dokkodo, on 03/03/2008, -1/+7"Would you be complaining so much if it were a rat or a pig?"
Yup. - warriorscot, on 03/04/2008, -0/+5I would still find it disturbing perhaps not as much but still, its a quirk of most humans that we have an affinity to dogs we have over millenia bred them to our needs which gives them a special place in our culture more so for the fact they are relatively intelligent as well. Its pretty ***** low. Also its not just the puppy killing that causes revulsion as much as the signal to the danger in another human that they are mentally unstable/ill which triggers a reaction to people that amplifies the emotions.
- fwertz, on 03/04/2008, -4/+2No - no you wouldn't. Why? Because even if YOU did, you'd never know this happened because everyone else has the ability to show their biased opinion between puppy and piglet.

- m1zl3d, on 03/03/2008, -5/+4This is definitely not a U.S. soldier or a marine. I have a friend who is a fellow marine and he agrees that its most likely a contractor but definitely not a marine. You can see in the article below he is wearing the same uniform which isn't a U.S. soldiers uniform.

- Rubiksphere, on 03/04/2008, -2/+1Honestly, I think we should be careful what we say until there's some clarification from the military (and I honestly can't believe I said that.) There's too many variables in this video for me to say what it was or wasn't because:
A) The quality is not good
B) I can't say whether or not the dig is bound or has died and rigor mortis set in.
C) They could've pulled a switch-a-roo when the supposed solider is about to throw the dog and replaced it with a doll.
D) If those men were US soldiers, then their uniforms would be different because both the Army and Marine Corps. has adopted Universal Camouflage Pattern.
Instead of sitting on our asses bitching and moaning about what an atrocity this is--like we've been about everything since Bush got reelected--why don't we actually DO something and tell the military that we want to know what happened. They are on our payroll after all. - fhornplayer, on 03/04/2008, -0/+1I'm going to believe it was a fake puppy and forget about it. I don't have the stomach for this right now.

Yeah, that's ok, right? - cawpin, on 03/03/2008, -2/+10It matters because you don't know if they killed it or not. You puppies don't survive very well if the mother is killed. It may have died a natural death.

- IheartRonnyP, on 03/04/2008, -0/+3I agree. I've been raising dogs for 15 years. This is how a pup acts when held by the scruff. This video sickens me. I don't care who you are... - EricSchC1, on 03/03/2008, -0/+2You might be right on some of your points, but every human being has a responsibility to the species to check their emotions and actions for the benefit and safety of the masses. PeTA is to animals is what Fox News is to journalism.- jonmlm, on 03/03/2008, -7/+6screw the aspca, get ALF on the case. they get things done.
- Starch, on 03/03/2008, -3/+62I'm pretty sure Alf eats cats... I'm just sayin..

- Jaliyl, on 03/03/2008, -2/+9"PeTA is to animals is what Fox News is to journalism"
Truly a great quote.
Aside from that, PETA can't be all that bad if they get hot chicks to pose naked

- Jaliyl, on 03/03/2008, -5/+4I need to get one of those T-shirts, oh and its People FOR Eating Tasty Animals
- HypocriteDigg, on 03/04/2008, -2/+2Wow, I havn't heard that one before dumb *****.
www.meat.org
- artliquide, on 03/03/2008, -9/+19I hate PETA, and I used to be a vegetarian because I couldn't stand the conditions that animals are forced into for our frivolous pleasures. PETA is just as evil as cosmetic companies that test on animals...or guys who throw puppies off of cliffs.
- MikeSD34, on 03/03/2008, -9/+7You try to get away but the flavors just bring you right on back - Meat, mmmmm
- hexydes, on 03/03/2008, -6/+14Don't kid yourself Artliquide. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd eat you and everyone you care about!
- daborg, on 03/03/2008, -2/+5He's coming right for us!
- directrix13, on 03/03/2008, -3/+3I can't believe a Simpson's quote was dugg down.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 03/03/2008, -2/+2Your a grade A moron. (Simpsons quote for the slower diggers)
- HypocriteDigg, on 03/04/2008, -2/+4Why is PETA evil? Or do you just repeat what your sheep mind sees on TV? ***** think for yourself loser.
- artliquide, on 03/04/2008, -1/+1Lol. I do. That's why I hate PETA. Believe me when I tell you that PETA has many vegetarian sheep who follow them, and I chose not to be among the mob for the sake of logic and rational thought.
- kolobcreek, on 03/03/2008, -12/+6I bet if it was an Iraqi kid nobody would care. HAHA. I can't remember ever seeing someone being this pissed off about a suicide bomber killing over 100 people in a market. That Mike Vick guy should have been fighting 12yr old girls to the death instead. He probably would have got less time.
America you're F'up in the head- UNL1M1T3D, on 03/03/2008, -1/+3Actually I think people would care. And don't generalize an entire country over a couple comments you read on the internet.
- kolobcreek, on 03/04/2008, -1/+3@UNL1M1T3D
good point - Xela21, on 03/04/2008, -0/+5The enjoyment on his face of killing a puppy is what's gross.
- EricSchC1, on 03/04/2008, -0/+2@ kolobcreek: Actually, all those protests all over the world starting at the onset of & through the better part of the war was the upheaval being made over the killing of innocent people, including women and children. We're bitching about this on Digg (and other websites, I'm sure), a fantasy land on the internet that has no bearing on reality.
- Xzn31, on 03/03/2008, -12/+4It's FREAKIN FAKE dumbass

- neoknight, on 03/03/2008, -60/+16You people are hilarious. Throw men off a cliff and you don't smudge. Throw a dog off a cliff and people are posting the guys home address and phone number on the internet? Suddenly morality becomes an issue that needs to be dealt with immediately in the military!
For all you know, he might probably end up dead tomorrow in Iraq from fighting this fictitious war.
You guys are sad.- NDUO, on 03/03/2008, -3/+16Well, for one difference, these sick ***** laughed at throwing the puppy off the cliff. Not so sure the soldiers are laughing as they kill humans.
- danarama, on 03/03/2008, -6/+14no they laugh when they torture and rape them. it's been documented. so long as they're not dodging bullets while they're doing the killing i guess.
- homeagain1, on 03/03/2008, -4/+3.
- Cimlite, on 03/03/2008, -3/+18Humans have themselfs to blame for war.
What's that poor puppy done to anyone? That's why people get upset about these types of things.- Hraes, on 03/03/2008, -8/+2WHAT. "Humans have themselves to blame for war"? The entire species of humans, civilians, children, and everyone else /deserves/ torture, maiming, and murder, because someone else in their species conceived of war? Think about what you're saying, please.
It's reasoning like yours that makes conflicts like the one in the Middle East go on forever. It's this mentality of "that guy's great-great-great-grandfather shot my great-great-great-grandfather, so I should shoot him". Illogical moron. - satanswetnipple, on 03/03/2008, -1/+3So is a 2 year old girl in Iraq that gets shot and killed "by accident" by an American soldier (who may or may not have laughed) responsible for the situation?
Maybe her mother and father are responsible... because we all know that poor farmers have a serious amount of political influence in countries like Iraq? (sarcasm) - fubuvsfitch, on 03/04/2008, -0/+3Hraes, nowhere in Cimlite's statement did he say that ALL humans are responsible for war, which is what you are assuming he said. The humans who start wars do indeed have themselves to blame for war. So perhaps you should think about what you are saying as well, so as not to use red herring argumentation. It just shows your lack of reading comprehension skills.
- Hraes, on 03/03/2008, -8/+2WHAT. "Humans have themselves to blame for war"? The entire species of humans, civilians, children, and everyone else /deserves/ torture, maiming, and murder, because someone else in their species conceived of war? Think about what you're saying, please.

- NDUO, on 03/03/2008, -3/+16Well, for one difference, these sick ***** laughed at throwing the puppy off the cliff. Not so sure the soldiers are laughing as they kill humans.
- danarama, on 03/03/2008, -30/+3i'm wiling to bet it's fake. LIke ALLLL the video that is released from Iraq goes through stringent release procedures and it all windes up serving some purpose for propaganda and psyop especially on live leak and break. My bet is it's meant to first, distract from the human reality in Iraq and trivialise the sort violence that is likley rampant, and turn the anti war ***** stirrers into another frenzy that likley has little to do with the actual situation. This stuff is always a two edged sword.
- theaceoffire, on 03/03/2008, -3/+5I am praying to god it is fake.
- Barbosa, on 03/03/2008, -2/+6While you're at it why not pray for the humans who are suffering because of this war as well...
- edru, on 03/03/2008, -2/+11i doubt it. I have friends that are in iraq, and they sneak back cell videos and ***** all the time without anyone knowing.
- danarama, on 03/03/2008, -6/+1uh...lets see it? you seen it? are they doing anything illegal or cruel? put it on break and see how long that lasts. my point is that this video in particular was created and posted and had a huge amount of attention generated on it for a reason. not just because someone snuck it out.
- EricSchC1, on 03/03/2008, -0/+1Makes about as much sense as everything else our fearless leaders do to influence public perception of the war.
Politician: "This war is seen as being senseless and inhumane but a lot of people. How can we fix that"
Military flunky: "Do something lighthearted in tone to relax some public outcry...maybe a "leaked" video of someone throwing a dog off a high structure or land mass? It was funny when they did it in There's Something About Mary." - SoxSweepAgain, on 03/03/2008, -0/+1If you know any soldiers, as I do, plenty of video makes it out "unscreened". Plenty!
I've seen worse. - Bodhinature, on 03/04/2008, -0/+1So, what political or propoganda purpose does faking slaughtering a puppy serve?

- SquigglyP, on 03/03/2008, -1/+1how dare the liberals try to use this video to advance their own agenda!!!
- paradexes, on 03/04/2008, -0/+1Not too hard. He will blame Hillary for being one of the people who voted for the war, and created this situation....completly ignoring the other facts and dismissing the president and VP as the actual architechts of this war.....as FOX does when reporting...dismissing fact. Quite simple.
OR He will spin the article by getting an "expert" video forensics guy to say why this is just a stuffed toy and not a real pup. All the while saying how the digg post (this one) is inaccurate and is labeled as such. Doesnt take much brains to spin. It takes way more to actually report the facts. - wetnap, on 03/04/2008, -0/+0liberals trying to generalize this to accuse all troops and showing how thin their veil of supporting the troops are is probably something oreily probably should jump on liberals for. liberals are also capable of being incredibly stupid.

Just remember that these are the people that will be coming home soon....
The product of a war many people supported without question.

- UNL1M1T3D, on 03/03/2008, -3/+3And you can make that assumption based on about 30 words? Damn you're good. ElectroOverlord isn't lying, I used to work with him, and he's told me stories before.
- hexydes, on 03/03/2008, -8/+1Alright, so tell me Pvt. "ElectroOverlord", if the war is the reason for his behavior, then why aren't there millions of soldiers coming home and throwing puppies off of cliffs?
Supposedly we're not supposed to generalize an entire group of people based on the actions of one of their members, and yet, that is exactly what you just did. If you actually are a member of the armed services, I think you owe your fellow soldiers an apology. If you are indeed lying and are not in the armed services, then you're pathetic, and I'm sorry I wasted my time even acknowledging you.- satanswetnipple, on 03/03/2008, -0/+2First, there are not millions of soldiers there. USA does not have millions of soldiers. Approx 130000 soldiers at the peak in Iraq.
Secondly, the vast majority of soldiers are returned to Iraq on more tours of duty, so there has been no real return of the soldiers so far. - UNL1M1T3D, on 03/03/2008, -0/+2I don't think the military lets you use your "Digg handle" as part of your name.

That's right, kids. Next time, write your congressmen and say, "You know, despite the fact that the government believes that a foreign country poses a potential threat to us, I'm going to assume that I know more about the situation than they do. I feel safe enough, and that's really all that matters. Never mind national security, never mind the CIA, I know what's going on in the world and I think it's my responsibility to tell my government to not protect me."

Harming any living thing that's defenseless (human or animal) for "***** and giggles" is low and cowardly. Granted it may be cruel but the dog is most likely dead now anyway. And most of the people like you are about to annoy the living hell out of a guy that has given more for his country then you have, his actions may not be warranted but when it comes down to a guy thats seen more blood than even I have and a stray getting knocked around it doesnt really make me disgusted. Now dont you have phone calls to make to his house or base commander stating your disposition for his misconduct. shout at me if you have something to say it's much easier for me to reply- Gamer2k4, on 03/04/2008, -0/+2> Granted it may be cruel but the dog is most likely dead now anyway.
Yeah, throwing an animal off a cliff will do that. - decyx, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1Actually, in contrast to your assumption, my family grew up on a farm. Also, where the hell are you inferring all this crap about me from? I've never even argued that the life of a dog is of higher value than that of a human being. Your outrage must have carried over from reading other comments, because I'm not even sure if you're addressing me anymore. I'm questioning the integrity of a person who kills an animal for fun. There was no practical reason for his actions. He just tossed a dog to it's death and filmed it for everyone to see. I don't know how you can even justify this. There's a major difference between putting down an animal because your resources are limited or it's displaying open hostility and doing it simply because you can. Also, I would shout you, but that privilege is apparently only reserved for your friends.

- paradexes, on 03/03/2008, -7/+9And yet noone knows for sure. So not exactly inaccurate. I bet this is FOX news doing. They will report and then spin this "inaccurate tag" and say the internet is an inaccurate source of info. Bill O'rly can do that. And probably will. And then every digger will be labeled a pothead terrorist hippie with pinko commie ties.
Hopefully the other media outlets are a little more objective or treat this for what it is.- UNL1M1T3D, on 03/03/2008, -3/+1For once please leave Fox out of this.
- paradexes, on 03/04/2008, -0/+3Nah they are too easy a target.
- Gamer2k4, on 03/04/2008, -10/+7It's because this is likely faked. Digg users have a way of blowing things out of proportion, and this is likely one such case. Remember the huge deal about the undersea lines being cut, until people started realizing that it was NORMAL for breaks to occur? Remember how everyone supported Ron Paul? He got a total of SIX pledged delegate after the primaries (less than 1%).
Like those cases, this is probably blown out of proportion too. Has anyone bothered to question the logic behind this?
1) Why would they throw a dog off a cliff?
2) How could a dog be thrown that far, held only by the scruff of its neck?
3) Why didn't the dog struggle or even move?
4) Why would they film this, saying their names?
5) Why would they post the video on the internet?
It just doesn't add up. Logic indicates that the video is a fake, and therefore this story is inaccurate.- Bilabrin, on 03/04/2008, -0/+31. That guy would throw a dog off a cliff for the same reason my friend down the street growing up dropkicked stray cats. Creulty to animals is not uncommon among psychotic individuals which also are not uncommon-especially in the millitarty. Alot if those who sign up with the military do so for the paycheck. Alot of them are losers who couldn't make it through a job interview. So the military is the answer. The marines are known for being an especially hardcore/macho/ testosterone filled branch of the military where toughtness/hardcoreness/violence is valued and encouraged.
2. The scruff would be the perfect place to grab a puppy if you planned to throw it far. It's like a built in skin handle.
3. puppies and kittens grabbed by the scruff befome docile and unresponsive. It's instinct. The mother usually is carrying them to safety. Look it up if you don't believe me. That's exactly how I would expect a puppy held by the scruff to behave.
4. I suspect they had no clue it would be a big deal. It didn't seem pre-meditated. Motari was probably like "Hey, get your camera...check this out!" They probably had a few good laughs about it back at the base camp.
5. Good question but I think stupididty or ignorance of how the net works. Or maybe someone they showed it oo asked for a copy of the file and then they posted it not knowing it would blow up.
Nice try at a logical rejection but your objections all have counterpoints and, more likely ones at that.Face it, you rejected the legitimacy of this video because you don't want to believe it. I can't blame you for that.

- Verz, on 03/04/2008, -2/+1Maybe because this is fake? Notice how the dog flings around the guy's hand when he extends his arm to throw it -- only a stuffed animal could be that light, not a real dog.
- colihondro, on 03/03/2008, -14/+7b/c the puppy seems to be dead during the whole video (with sound added later)
- nubnub, on 03/03/2008, -0/+7This is just disgusting. There was no reason to kill a poor puppy. What a sick bastard.
- BossKeyy, on 03/03/2008, -0/+4C'mon, man. Even the camera guy said it was mean :
- UNL1M1T3D, on 03/03/2008, -0/+5The camera guy is a pussy for not stepping in.
- Nath4n, on 03/03/2008, -5/+10Reported for innacuracies?? How can the description possibly be inaccurate - watch the ***** video!

WHERE THE ***** ARE ALL OF YOU ON THAT STORY HUH!!! THOUSANDS OF DOGS ARE KILLED IN KOREA EVERY ***** DAY!- Jaliyl, on 03/03/2008, -2/+4No one has even seen that story yet, give it time.
- EricSchC1, on 03/03/2008, -0/+3@ Jaliyl: That's not any less inhumane, but thats also not the same topic. Post your outrage in the comments for that story.
- coolxal, on 03/04/2008, -1/+0So eating cows and chickens is humane?
- hadak, on 03/03/2008, -2/+6In Korea, they eat dogs. Like we eat chicken here, it is a natural and normal thing there. However, even the worst Koreans would agree - throwing a puppy off a cliff is abhorred.
- paradexes, on 03/04/2008, -1/+3Spoke to a Korean....he said it was f*ed up too. And not all Koreans eat dogs. That is a bit of a sterotype, but not an unfounded one.
- castevens, on 03/04/2008, -0/+3Not all Americans eat chicken
- nitesoulja, on 03/04/2008, -0/+2i dunno, the vid obviously wasnt fake. some people were saying a puppy thrown woulding just do flips while falling.. but that puppies legs were tied.. ***** that scumbag!
- elipabst, on 03/04/2008, -1/+1I don't know. My BS detector is off the charts on this. I would absolutely want to see this guy thrown in ***** jail if he did that, but the first thing I noticed when watching it was the dog didn't move...at all. Its legs didn't move, its paws didnl't move, its mouth doesn't move at all. If you've ever tried to hold a puppy by the scruff before, they squirm all over the place. It looked like one of those very realistic looking fake dog dolls that you see in store windows. Which would make sense with a couple of douchebags clowning around with some random doll they found in the desert.

- goldfishey, on 03/03/2008, -0/+4This is the stuff who ever is in command needs to look out for. It signifies either, that something has gone very wrong with this mans head, or that something always was broken in his head. I know they are having a hard time getting enough boots on the ground (to their way of thinking anyway) but guys like this shouldn't be active. He needs treatment of some, hopefully effective kind. This kind of detachment and callousness may be a way of dealing with traumatic situations - but it can make for the kind of cruelty and mistreatment -not just of dogs- that war crimes can be construed out of.
It would be better to pick this up and try and fix the man - at least get him off the ground before something like that happens.- Leetamus, on 03/04/2008, -0/+0dugg for first thoughtful comment I've seen on digg and dugg only 4 times! the internets is teh dumb
- diggingaround, on 03/03/2008, -2/+7I'm surprised that people are surprised what kind of guys are joining military service these days (just google "gangs in military"). We are craping the bottom of recruiting bucket for a long time now. Nobody intelligent enough doesn't want to fight the fake and staged wars fought for the interest of private corporations. People are dying by hundreds every day in Iraq... I don't see outrage on Gigg about that... but a dead dog... OMFG!
(btw I'm not heartless ... I really feel sad about that dog.) - dougdiggerton, on 03/03/2008, -0/+4Im pretty sure that was micheal vick.
- jozb, on 03/03/2008, -4/+2What if the puppy was already dead, aren't we all jumping to conclusions way too soon. did anybody check the vital signs, how do we know for sure? Yes i hear the yelping, but couldn't that be sound fx.
- paradexes, on 03/04/2008, -0/+3I guess you missed the ziptie on his legs.....or the way his head slightly moved. WHat is the point of Ziptying a dead dogs legs? Not exaclty like he will do anything.
- coolxal, on 03/04/2008, -0/+1So it looks real?
- elipabst, on 03/04/2008, -0/+2Look more closely, it's not a zip tie, it's the antennae from the radio operator that flops next to the dogs legs. When he pull the dog around him to throw it, you'll see the "zip tie" doesn't move. Looks like either a dead dog or one of those freaky realistic-looking stuffed dolls.
- Leetamus, on 03/04/2008, -1/+0totally man that video was shopped!! You can find the original on youtube, it was actually a baby, but nobody gave a *****.

- UNL1M1T3D, on 03/03/2008, -0/+3I'd rather shoot him, but if you want to ***** him, I won't stop you.
- coolxal, on 03/04/2008, -1/+0And he's shooting Muslims for you so you can bitch about him on digg.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 03/03/2008, -0/+3I'd rather shoot him, but if you want to ***** him, I won't stop you.
- Bilabrin, on 03/03/2008, -1/+12To be fair, There were intelligence reports indicating that this puppy was actively harboring terrorists and seeking weapons of mass destruction. It also had known Al-queda ties and was obviously resisting. In a life or death situation like that the soldiers have no chioce but to take lethal action. Also the president has stated that being flung to your death does not constitute torture
