- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -48/+194Ah yes, God bless the good ol' traditional American values of ignorance, racism, prejudice, homophobia, slander, fear mongering, and ignoring the separation of church and state.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -53/+163Homosexuality a choice?
Are you ***** kidding me?
Is being Black a choice? Is being Male or Female a choice? Is breathing a choice?
It's biology, moron. Stop listening to religious fanatics and educate yourself.
And you know what? You're all hypocrites. You talk about the sanctity of marriage and how it is the backbone of whatever...yet you seem to have no issues with Vegas marriages. How is that not wrong? Why aren't you fighting that?
Neo-*****, STOP IT, it's not RIGHT! - haydesigner, on 10/12/2007, -23/+124Stupidity is a choice.
Ignorance is a choice. - nwoolls, on 10/12/2007, -26/+129Let me give you a little clue: all the people digging you down aren't gay or satanists, they just live in the real world where people like you are viewed as the close-minded ***** they are.
- lazydrumhead, on 10/12/2007, -33/+125I am highly embarrassed to be a conservative that lives in the same state as that poor excuse for a man.
- sinfony, on 10/12/2007, -30/+118Anti-Christianity isn't an issue, since it's largely fictional.
For a real, important issue in America, try anti-intellectualism. One need look no further than this ad for examples. - raabco, on 10/12/2007, -28/+114"Last time I check sexual orientation and homosexuality was a choice and it is wrong."
How exactly did you "check" this 'fact'? - zeblith, on 10/12/2007, -29/+114I agree. I'm ridiculously liberal (not to mention gayer than a spring parade) and I was far too amused by the sheer absurdity and downright corniness of the ad to find time to be offended. I suppose I would be offended, if my mind could process that in a way even remotely close to taking it seriously. Alas, I cannot.
- etnu, on 10/12/2007, -19/+103The U.S.A. was NOT founded by Christians. The original colonies were. The colonies are not America.
The U.S.A. was founded by a group of intellectuals, idealists, and powerful businessmen, who were united not by a common religion but rather by a common ideal of "freedom". When people talk about the "founding fathers", they aren't talking about the Puritans. - tayman26, on 10/12/2007, -27/+107I was born, raised, and still live in the south, and I would have to agree that it is that bad. "That" being the rampant racism, bigotry, anti-gay feelings, and anti-intellectual feelings.
- shunter99, on 10/12/2007, -21/+97@ breakerjump
I am a Southerner. I grew up in the South until age 26. After moving out and then visiting, I can tell you that without a doubt the Southern culture is noticeably bigoted.
Of course not all are bigots, because I grew up there and am not one. But overall, the culture there is noticeably less tolerant of anyone that is different (whether it be a vegetarian, metal head, homosexual or african-american). - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -38/+107I suppose that depends on whether or not you live in the US.
If that were the case, I would say there's something wrong with you.
How can you not see the blatant racism and misinformation?
I mean, I lived in the south for a short time...I know they are that bad...but they do NOT represent the majority.
Also, this is 2006, not 1950. The 1950's weren't that sweet and innocent. There were race riots, hangings, lynchings, seperate bathrooms and seating for blacks, and more. It was a horrible time.
If you know ANYTHING about politics and how they work, you will see through this sad attempt at base psychology. They are going for the lowest common denominator because they know those people vote Conservative. - siMac, on 10/12/2007, -38/+102"And I don't know why the bit about Mexicans jumping the border would be considered offensive. How in the ***** are they entitled to a life in the USA?"
The Native Americans probably used that argument too... 'and what about these pilgrims landing in our country, how the ***** are they entitled to a life in north america?' - GhostCow, on 10/12/2007, -21/+80@breakerjump:
I grew up in Tennessee, lived there for 18 years, and spent 3 years in Kentucky.
Unless you're in a decent sized city (100,000 people or more), then the south really IS as bad as you see in movies and television. In many cases, far worse. - Tenlow, on 10/12/2007, -6/+65I'm glad you didnt vomit in mine.

1. "somehow you get buried..." It's not super-secret magic or anything. There's no 'somehow' about it. They're buried because *NEWS FLASH* the majority of Digg users believe in equal rights for all humans. It is un-american to think or act otherwise. Therefore, we Digg down bigotry, ignorance, and vulgarity. That's the beauty of Digg. It emulates the freedom that is supposed to exist in America.
2. "People have the right to their opinions." I couldn't agree more. See? We agree on something. We have a right to digg down comments, too. Unlike some neo-cons on Digg, we don't Digg-Bomb stories to push our own agenda. (It's not a conspiracy when it's true. Proof: http://digg.com/videos_people/The_MOST_Unbelievable_Political_Ad_You_Will_EVER_See?creplyto=3649164#c3655444)
3. "At least he's not car bombing people." Wouldn't be a proper conservative post without some sort of veiled attempt at associating liberals with terrorists. :/
4. "I hear so much America bashing" First, not everyone here is American. Europe doesnt like us right now because of our stance on Iraq. You might want to "just suck it up". On the other hand, Being against our policies in Iraq or against the President doesnt mean we are baching our beloved country. I disagree with the direction our country has taken under the current administration. Does this make me un-americans? Nope. It makes me ABSOLUTELY American, and proud of my right to free speech.
5. "I'm tired of wasting my typing on you sheep." Yet, you keep responding. Hmm... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+64And this is his telephone campaign - http://youtube.com/watch?v=nt84bQORSHA
- BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -9/+59Uhh, his website is supposed to lead me to believe he isn't who I think he is? His website only solidifies that judgement...

- Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -83/+124Ok, I'll bite... what was the disgusting part of the ad? It showed a bunch of stock footage and quoted a number of facts. Facts are disgusting now?
Oh, and Robinson is black. A black man running a racist ad? What was racist about the ad? - ELiTe185, on 10/12/2007, -4/+41Watch another one of his adds that just focuses on illegal aliens:

not entirely sure why I said that.. - blistered, on 10/12/2007, -14/+50Are you guys nuts? HE IS BLACK.
- sinfony, on 10/12/2007, -10/+45Yeah, it's really ***** trendy to be brutally killed by braindead *****.
- fastsix, on 10/12/2007, -8/+38Here's a map of organized hate groups by state. It's worth nothing that this tracks all hate groups so some of it is not all what we tradtionaly think of as racism. It's also not tied to population, so a heavily populated state is more likely to look worse than some place like Idaho, even though Northern Idaho is kind of infamous for racism.
http://www.splcenter.org/intel/map/hate.jsp
If you spend your whole life in a city, you might never run into these people, or at least if you did they might not be so obvious about it. Get out to the rural areas of your state, you can't be black if you aren't, so pretend to be gay for a day and get back to me on how open minded your state is.
I spent a good portion of my life living in Seattle and I can tell you that while Seatlle is an extremely liberal place to live, there are plenty of little logging towns that aren't quite as accomidating to those who don't conform to the norm. Not a lot of African Americans in that part of the country, but plenty of Native Americans and for some reason they always seem to live in the bad part of town, have less money, and less opportunity. Racism or coincidence? If it were the South I know what your answer would be.
I'm not Southern, I grew up in S. Florida among relocated New Yorkers and Cuban Americans, and then spent most of my adult life in Seattle. I don't like the South - it's too conservative, too religious, and a city like Raleigh isn't much to write home about. But this idea that the South is just a haven for Racists is incorrect. It was a haven for Racists, and I know the people you've got in mind. I've met them, some of my friends parents are them - they're old, they're dying and their kids aren't like them. - tayman26, on 10/12/2007, -8/+37@carapi
No, they were deists. Probably one of the closest things you could find to agnostic/atheistic beliefs back then. - GhostCow, on 10/12/2007, -7/+35@carapi
The founding fathers were deists dude.. There's also a decent amount of evidence that Ben Franklin was even an atheist for a short period of time
edit: tayman26 beat me to it :P - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -18/+47HardSide,
You assume too much.
I am a 37 year old, who has traveled, studied numerous religions, political schema's, and lifestyles. I am a computer repairman (not white collar). I used to live on the streets for 2 1/2 years. I have been witness to many levels of life. I submitted this story.
One of the liberals who replied against this video is in his 50's. Another, in his 70's. Many more in my age range. The few who are young are obvious. Just look for the expletives and nonsensical idealism.
You also assume all blacks are sex fiends who pro-create like rabbits. This is also an assumption which is based on rumours and gossip...not scientific fact. In fact, the largest group of pro-creators are christians. They feel the need to overpopulate the world to further their cause. That's why they hate abortion. It means less people to convert.
My friend Heat, who is a black man, saw this video too...and he was appalled. His parents saw it and immediately wrote an angry letter to the publishers of the video. My parents live in NC and they also sent a letter...and they are republican.
The world isn't as simple as you think. Nor is it as innocent. - CountSessine, on 10/12/2007, -7/+31"etnu...those founding fathers were DEEPLY RELIGIOUS people you stupid *****."
Maybe, but most of them weren't religious in the way modern Americans would call themselves religious. Most of the American founding fathers were really more Deist than Christian. And the ideas that America was founded on came from ancient Greece, not Israel.
Wow - I was a bit slow. tayman and GhostCow just schooled me. :-) - nibble128, on 10/12/2007, -17/+42OK, rather than make fun of your skewed views on what is just and moral, I will try to inform.
The USA may have been founded by Christians, but it was done so because they didn't think that anyone should have the right to tell them what they can and cannot believe. Thus the USA was founded on the freedom of religion. How is this important? In every single way:
Christianity said do not yoke yourself with unbelievers (and something about other races) Thus we got racism.
Christianity says that homosexuality is wrong, another point made.
It also infers that women are inferior to men.. etc... I could go on and on, but I am not trying to bash Christianity, I am simply pointing out something very important:
These ideals are Christian, this nation is about religious freedom, thus why are we basing our nations ideas on race, sexual orientation, morals, etc ... hell anything... (including marriage) on what Christianity believes? It is a mute point.
If this nation continues to persecute based upon ideals instilled by a religion (that could be different in other religions) then we are as guilty as the country we fled persecution from in the first place. - benmyles, on 10/12/2007, -7/+30@wardriver20
"OK, ok. You say it's not a choice. Then why do we have bisexuals? Tell me it wasn't their choice. C'mon I want to hear you say it!"
How does this advance your argument? If being attracted to the same sex is not a choice, then why can't you also naturally be attracted to both sexes?
Here's what I can tell you for sure. I'm gay. I knew, from a very early age, that I was attracted to the same sex. I never "chose" to be gay. I'm not sexually attracted to the opposite sex (at all). On top of all that, I'm just like everyone else. You'd never guess my sexuality.
Believe me, when I was younger and in school, I wished I could be attracted to girls. Everything would have been so much easier, and I wouldn't have been bottling up a huge secret inside me. Another thing - when I was younger, I never even labeled myself as "gay". All I knew is that I liked guys, not girls.
On top of all that, does it really matter if it's a choice or not? Provided I have the same legal rights (and responsibilities) as all other citizens, I'm happy. That's what this debate is about - it's not about religion. I don't care if your religion disapproves of my sexuality. But, I do care when laws are made to be discriminatory under the veil of religion. - GMD1987, on 10/12/2007, -19/+41Hmmm, not offended.
Guess I don't fit into your "ideal" America, and somehow, I'm a really bad person
right? - Kles, on 10/12/2007, -6/+28(to therealduckie)
Um, whoever started the ridiculous rumour that "stupider" is not a word did a good job because it is indeed a word. - trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26@ dezine3
"If homosexuality wasn't a choice I'm sure we'd see plenty of squirrels humping their brothers, but aside from showing dominance this doesn't happen."
Actually, squirrels, along with many other animals have been known to have homosexual relationships:

"Liberals can dish it, but they sure can't take it. What a bunch of crybabies you are!"
Are you kidding me?
We sat by for 8 years while you Nazi Bastards spent 40 million, or was it 60 million, trying to hunt down the most effective President we've had in modern times. We were all shocked and embarrassed at the charades you put on display for the world to see, drawing pictures of female genitalia on the US Senate floor, etc. And for what? To prove that he cheated on his wife? That’s between him and his wife. No one else.
He and his wife are still together; He kept doing his job until the end; And in the end, the Senate called *****.
I’d call that “taking it” pretty well.
We won’t even get into the crimes the current NeoCon Fascist Regime has committed. Most of us know the truth. Your psychobabble on the subject means nothing to us. - rezonq3, on 10/12/2007, -21/+41"The ones finding this offensive are the pro-gay marriage, pro-fetus hoovering, pro-flag burning, anti-morals Social Paranoid liber-idiots."
Wow you're right! While we're at it, let's just halt technological progression. Technology is the devil! Oh sex is the devil too, we need to stop that one also... Uh let's see what else is a freedom we can strip from free born people? - patch6, on 10/12/2007, -9/+28The seperation of church and state exists so that your kind cannot impose those knee-jerk, arbitrary standards on the lives of other people through state authority. What you regard as wrong can be considered irrelevant or acceptable to others; that's just the way the world works, and No Amount of CAPS TYPING is going to change that. As long as no one's being defrauded or injured, there's no problem.
- happyperson, on 10/12/2007, -7/+26dezine did you choose to be attracted to women? or is it just who you are.
- sinfony, on 10/12/2007, -10/+29I can give you untold thousands of sentences without using expletives. But doing so would not accurately express my anger at your glibly offensive statement.
- Kles, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22Bigotry, then?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20@ dezine3... Bonobo monkeys are ALL bisexual, according to New Scientist... that kinda defeats the whole 'it goes against nature' argument, surely.
*edit*
Can't find the new scientist link, but here's one that states the same anyway:
http://www.nerve.com/regulars/lifeswork/bonobo/ - Pod6isjerks, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19I almost think that somebody is making a parody, but they're not.
- sinfony, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20@hungryhermitt
You're not going to get out of this by implying that I'm an unread, uneducated fool. First of all, neither is the case. Second of all, it's clearly a dodge on your part; try addressing the issue at hand.
There is a time and a place for profanity. Revising my comment to "Yes, it is quite trendy to be bludgeoned unto death by a group of uncouth and perhaps illiterate persons" would be to rob it of its punch, so to speak. - BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18Actually, the US /wasn't/ founded by Christians. The Founding Fathers were an eclectic mix of Christians, other kinds of theists, gnostic atheists, and agnostic atheists.
One of the founding fathers /loved/ to diss on Christians and theism in general... what was that guy's name? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+25Clearly a lot of these douche-bags have no idea what a fact is. That much is obvious.
Pretty sure they think facts are something slimey democratic secularist heathens invented to confuse good ol' red blooded Americans - ButtSpasm, on 10/12/2007, -14/+28you are correct the part about homosexuals is not racist... cause it doesn't deal with "race"
but he is a closed minded bigot. sexual orientation is not a choice. when you were growing up did you sit down and choose to like the opposite gender? no. ya just do. and the same goes for people who prefer people of the same gender.
and Don't even get me started on the sanctity of marriage.... straight people all over the us are doing more to hurt your precious sanctity of marriage than homosexuals. what is the divorce rate?? yeah.. exactly... Marriage is about love. let 'em marry who they love.
Lastly, don't even start bringing anti-Christianity into politics.... in the US there is (or supposed to be, it is a little hazy right now...) a clear separation between church and state. people are free to like/dislike Christianity all they want.. get over your religious crap and get back to the facts of politics. - pintomp3, on 10/12/2007, -13/+26please tell me that's a spoof or something. if these are the type of ppl who make it past primaries, we are so screwed.
- achoo5000, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20So the way I took it was that people are tired of republican sensationalism. And that all the hysteria should go back to the Twilight Zone. Then I looked this guy up, and this is all the stuff he believes! WTF!??!
- kumari82, on 10/12/2007, -15/+28
Statistics back this politician up. Most black children are being born out of wedlock. It's numbers; not racism. This is traceable to welfare politics and a "victim mentality", both of which absolve the individual of responsibility and a sense of community.
And I don't know why the bit about Mexicans jumping the border would be considered offensive. How in the ***** are they entitled to a life in the USA?
I'm all for multiculturalism, peace and happiness. But I the left critique is blinded by ideology; it has nothing to do with facts on the ground.
Seriously. PC takes as much a leap of faith as religion. -
