Teenage boy 'hanged himself after being bullied on internet'
dailymail.co.uk — A 13-year-old boy hanged himself after being bullied on internet social networking sites for his clothes and love of 'Emo' music and punk rock, his parents believe. Sam Leeson killed himself in his bedroom after suffering months of 'sickening' abuse from cruel youngsters who bombarded his home page with offensive emails.

- TheNinjaJesus, on 06/12/2008, -8/+60If he killed himself over something said on the internet then obviously there were problems offline that made him think life wasn't worth living...
- Spuy767, on 06/12/2008, -1/+7Exactly. Buried as inaccurate, because anyone who kills themselves over something that happened on the internet, has bigger issues.
- insinuate, on 06/12/2008, -25/+15No, its sad that this species still has retards like this kid. Its a blessing kids like them off themselves, otherwise they might have children and keep the recessiveness going.
- Breticus07, on 06/12/2008, -5/+5wow, what a terrible way to think. I particularly don't like "emo" but I don't feel they should die because of it. He should die because of a lifestyle?
- mysedai, on 06/12/2008, -2/+3I think he was referring to the abnormally thin skin that a person would have to have in order to commit suicide over the things somebody said about them online being a not desirable trait for future generations.

- jebudas, on 06/12/2008, -15/+15@jggube,
You're absolutely right, this is a sad story. Your negative diggs are from the juvenile emo-bashers.- sgregory416, on 06/12/2008, -11/+7juvenile emo-bashers? isn't that a contradiction?
- jebudas, on 06/12/2008, -5/+12the bashers are juvenile. Anyone who isnt willing to accept someone else's choice of music or fashion is a dolt.
- sgregory416, on 06/12/2008, -3/+4i dont think dressing up like a girl and crying is that mature either. this emo fad has really ruined generation Y now were all sad for each other and cry about anything, oh boo hoo.
- sgregory416, on 06/12/2008, -11/+7juvenile emo-bashers? isn't that a contradiction?
- Ajajadude, on 06/12/2008, -7/+24Wow. Digg is full of douchebags. It's fairly disappointing to see people react the way they are in the comments below.
- AnotherJake, on 06/12/2008, -2/+6Why was that comment dugg down? I don't get the evil here. I feel really sorry for the kids these days. I thought I had it rough when I was that age, but man, all the little pricks out there these days are outrageous! I grew up in a high school where there was a lot of musical talent. My best friend, who was in a rock band with me in high school, went on to become a successful heavy metal musician. You can see him out there every day now. He made it big. One of the guys from another band we competed with in "Battle of the Bands" in high school made it even bigger and went on to make to the cover of Rolling Stone. You could say heavy metal is in my blood and I hate EMO, but EMO has some roots where I grew up and I have some friends in the industry now who are extremely popular. But man, let me tell you, it was rough in my high school for some kids. I didn't have any problems myself, but geez... Anyway, we were all pretty thick-skinned about stuff, which everyone learns to do, but at least we had a heart somewhere. Many kids these days are not only mean, but they have no heart to be seen. It's not really just bullys and jocks anymore, but like effing minions of Satan if you ask me! It's like it's the "in thing" to be evil with this generation, I swear. I dub thee: generation Hell.
- mattlohkamp, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3it's sad that the kid was so messed up he thought suicide was the way to go - and sadder still that the parents can't accept that their child was crazy, and have to blame other things. emo and punk music? myspace emails? come on, you forgot violent videogames. This is *****.
- praetoriansword, on 06/12/2008, -4/+1Dugg down for saying "that's sad"? Who the hell are you people??
- kevman459, on 06/12/2008, -1/+1It was dugg down because people don't like when someone make's an obvious comment in an effort to get a lot of diggs. It has no substance.
- sgregory416, on 06/13/2008, -1/+1it was dugg down because its not sad, the kid was an idiot.

- DeathWish808, on 06/11/2008, -31/+310Some people don't belong on the internet.
- wishninja, on 06/12/2008, -7/+80What? the internet is big enough for all people. I am sure it was not the internet that did it. I am sure a combo of family going thru divorce and real world pressures were the cause. The family just wants the blame the internet because it allows them to stop blaming themselves. They know they never paid enough attention to him, they never loved him hell they didn't even know his problems or that he had his own web page?
I refuse to believe that some stupid trolls on the internet were more powerful than a good loving home.- c0mputar, on 06/12/2008, -4/+7Agreed. Sure it doesn't help that the freedom of expression and speech is so prevalent on the Internet due to the anonymity(an amazing tool, a human achievement), but that can be particularly dangerous for people in situations such as the ones you outlined. Emos do get the short end of the stick, but, from online games I play, so do african americans, jews, women, fatter people, *****, lesbians, etc... It's the nature of minorities and having an unpopular image. Part of growing up is accepting who you are and to ignore all the hate, which, for the most part, is just playful teasing... I don't know anyone who truly believes something a racist or bigot thing they say, and I know some pretty damn vulgar people online but I guess I'm just part of a group of people who escapes the reality.
- ant3ros, on 06/12/2008, -1/+1It takes experience to know the callousness of the Internet. This callousness of anonymity needs to change. Users need to mature and not hide behind the screen. Many comments are blaming everyone but themselves, everyone but Internet users. The younger generation who see the Internet as a natural existence do not immediately know of its nature. And even then, on-line writing is no less valid as communication as spoken word. Language defines us as humans. Imagine if hordes of strangers gathered around you and yelled "hey emo, why don't you just kill yourself?" over and over again. You don't need to know who those people are to have their words affect you. Each user is an implied person. It's one thing to have a few trolls that are defeated against a self-governing on-line community, it is a completely different thing to have groups trolls attack an individual especially at the on-line places where the person seeks refuge.
How many users dugg this article just to laugh at their jokes coming true? It's sad when people are treated generically. This kid may have underlying issues, however I rather live among people who don't take others for granted. Perhaps, the Internet is breeding psychopaths- people incapable of empathy. It's more of a flaw than "emo" people who are sensitive to empathy. - djholybolt, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1If you can't handle the heat, stay away from the oven :-P
I was constantly baraded when i was in middle school by douchebags throwing insults at me. You know what I did? I took their words with a grain of salt. I grew up. I joined wrestling. And I made it aware that if they continued, they'd get a beating on behalf of me. That was pretty effective. Being able to bench double your own weight has it's advantages.
I'm pretty sure there was something this kid could have done beside kill himself. Though, not all 13-year-olds have the brain capacity to do anything besides bitch and cry and blame themselves.
Mommy should have loved him more and daddy should have shared his porn collection.

- dashboardradio, on 06/12/2008, -2/+5Exactly. Nobody wants to put themselves at fault, so they're placing the blame elsewhere. The internet damaged him further, he was probably just looking for people to talk to - anyone with a basic understanding of how the brain evolves knows how vital socialization is. The bullying, added to his family, didn't make for a good combination.

- mysedai, on 06/12/2008, -2/+2Well, the quality might not improve so much, but the quantity would be better.
- ryansmith18, on 06/12/2008, -4/+3So just where are you suggesting I get my porn?! Internet - kids = LAME-O 18year+ old porn.

- Buzzpatrol, on 06/12/2008, -10/+4Parents need to start fkin taking care of their kids!! If your kids dress all black, wear lipstick and cuts himself it MIGHT be time to peek into his habits a little?
Suicide because of anonymous online abuse.... So basically, if someone shouted 'fag' on the street he would have bombed an orphanage?
(also. He HUNG himself, not Hanged!)- kd36, on 06/12/2008, -0/+11uhhh.....Actually it is hanged.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanged - cbreaker, on 06/12/2008, -0/+8There's no indication that he wore lipstick.
I wore a lot of black growing up, too. Mostly because it was easy - no worries about matching anything - but also because I liked it.
I turned out just fine.
I've known a few people that have taken their own lives. You just never know what's going on in someone's head. You can't blame parents for EVERYTHING, you know.. - dashboardradio, on 06/12/2008, -1/+5Do you even know what emo is? I've never seen an "emo" kid wear black lipstick. That's goth. You don't have to cut to be emo.
- praisethelard, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4Haha...for reals. I like how "emo" kids get represented as goths outta the 90s. If you're gonna make fun of a subculture, at least get it right.
- Lixnig, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1The problem with "getting it right" is that if you ask two people what "emo" is, you will receive two different answers.
- foofightrs777, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1A picture is hung. A man is hanged. English, go figure.
- kd36, on 06/12/2008, -0/+11uhhh.....Actually it is hanged.
- orbitingdreams, on 06/12/2008, -2/+4And how would you determine that? How would you go about creating a system that deems people not "belonging on the internet"
- cbreaker, on 06/12/2008, -4/+4Proof of age over 21, and must pass a basic IQ test.
Boy, that sure would clear out a lot of bandwidth.- micflo, on 06/12/2008, -0/+6you probably would not pass the IQ test so I guess that means you should just leave the interwebs
- cbreaker, on 06/12/2008, -4/+4Proof of age over 21, and must pass a basic IQ test.
- sarge96, on 06/12/2008, -4/+5We all ought to be ashamed. Someone dies, and all we can do is joke about how they shouldn't have been on the internet and "that's one less emo for me to tell to kill themselves." This is why parents don't trust the internet and why it takes so much flak from politicians. If we don't regulate ourselves online, then the government will step in do it for us, and I don't think we want that. Have some sympathy people.
- hobophobe, on 06/12/2008, -1/+2That or use the buddy system. Works when swimming too: if your buddy is drowning from other peoples' BS or from hazardous conditions in the water, help him out.
That and establish an internet safe word. That way if people get out of line you can just use the safe word and they'll chill out and stop harassing and berating you. - JackBiller, on 06/12/2008, -2/+2Lol this is the internet.
Emos should all kill themselves because they deserve it for being little attention whore *****.

- LoveAndSeagulls, on 06/12/2008, -1/+25Do you really think this kid hung himself because of the internet? The article basically says he was already emo. I'm sure the internet did little to help him, but to say that it caused his death is just a spin on the story. The real focus should be how he was bullied in school, which is later on in the article.
- alliekins619, on 06/12/2008, -10/+15"Some kids on the internet said mean things to me! It's because they don't recognize my individuality when I shop at Hot Topic and listen to crappy bands just because Clear Channel tells me they're good!"

I also like(not my favorites) foo fighters, and Slipknot, and Good Charlotte(sometimes) but how is any of that "emo" music? If you go to one of their shows you will see thousands of other people like them also. I mean go ahead and post what you like here because I am not sure what is the music you people are listening to today. I live in the sticks and all I can hear is retarded ***** on the radio if listening to that ***** is what makes you popular than count me out because Lil Wayne sucks and so does justin timberlake.- utahnkid, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3Dugg down for Good Charlotte. but you know beep down you burried me for picking on justin timbo. Reminds me of my little brother ragging on me because I have some older songs like hank willams jr and Bill Withers, and some britney spears on my pod and I look at his and he has religious jesus music on his. WTF can anyone say about others music anyway?
- wishninja, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1du du du -girls don't like boys girls like cars and money
- ramunenke, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1I dugg you up for your opening line.
Make your profilne private. Its that simple. Then you will know who the jackasses are that were talking about you.
Then I dugg you neutral for slipknot and good charlotte and the unnecessary hate on Lil Wayne and JT. Also if you listen to the pop stations, the popular music being played is either super girl pop or emo cats. Lil Wayne barely got airplay up until recently and JT... well occasionally the man knows the right song to make.- wishninja, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3Well maybe it is the FCC, music companies and the clearchannel monopoly that ruined the radio. I was listening to a clearchannel station the other day and DJ played Live "lightning crashes" and those ***** eliminated the the verse about "her placenta falls to the floor" I mean WTF? they had to edit that? Maybe there is a reason these artists are making songs like this because that is all they can get played on the air. maybe that is why rap jr. makes a song like lollypop and it gets played. No one is breaking the format anymore. No one I didn't know of already has had a song in like 4 years that I hear on the radio and say wow I am going to get that CD.

If you are the type of person who makes fun of someone because they are different, (and my bet is, that you are.) then you won't be missed, either.
May God be with the family, and I hope others learn from this incident.
Oh, and another thing, ***** you TheWorm.- TheWorm, on 06/12/2008, -2/+3I'm not making fun, nor am I happy about it. I simply am indifferent. Of course I would care if I knew the family, but some emo kid on myspace kills himself because people make fun of him for the way he chooses to present himself? The world's got bigger problems.
- JackBiller, on 06/12/2008, -2/+2LOl "MAY GOD BE WITHT HE FAMILY".
YEAH GOOD LUCK WITH THAT
- aphexcoil, on 06/12/2008, -11/+7Of course not! Why would anyone with a ying/yang avatar really give a ***** about anything?
- willdiggforfood, on 06/12/2008, -14/+5Video or it didn't happen.
- dagnabbit, on 06/12/2008, -13/+33I can't believe how much you were dugg up for that. I can joke about emos with the best of them, but not when one commits suicide. You sick *****.
- jadrian, on 06/12/2008, -12/+5Careful. One of these days that disgusting sense of humor and disrespect for human life might get _you_ killed ;) Natural selection is a bitch indeed.
- ramunenke, on 06/12/2008, -3/+11that is so ***** up. Even if he had bad taste in music and clothes, it didnt make his life forfeit. He was a troubled kid whose style mimicked other troubled kids so it could only end badly.
- JVIikel, on 06/12/2008, -6/+6Natural Selection*
- infinitiesedge, on 06/12/2008, -1/+1Completely unrelated, but Natural City is a great movie.
- ant3ros, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2Yeah, unfortunately we'll end up with massive amounts of pricks like you without a fiber of empathy.
- freakydingo, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3bastardman, you are disgusting.
- diggmonster87, on 06/15/2008, -0/+2bastardman, get a life you sociopath.
- legoalert33, on 06/12/2008, -10/+25He did it for the lulz.
- whoreable, on 06/11/2008, -67/+213This isn't news. The kid was an emo. Suicide is a natural thing for them.
- alcavit, on 06/12/2008, -9/+10so so true
- xBreakdownx, on 06/12/2008, -12/+7No, It's not. I bet more non-emo people kill themselves.
- JoeCool51, on 06/12/2008, -7/+6I doubt that if you look at it proportionately
- Kyrato, on 07/27/2008, -1/+1Agree. "Emo" Is simply a fad aimed at getting attention.. and laid.
- lydecker, on 06/12/2008, -14/+25Suicide is unnatural for everyone. And even "emo's" deserve some sympathy. And to not be bullied.
- twiztidsinz, on 06/12/2008, -8/+14As soon as they stop wearing their younger sisters jeans and hoodies I'm sure they'll stop being bullied.
- lydecker, on 06/12/2008, -9/+20I'm sure they will. I'm sure gays will stop being bullied when they stop being flamboyantly gay, nerds will stop being bullied when they start playing football, and jocks will stop being ridiculed when they pick up a textbook and flip down their collar.
Why does that make it okay? Is it okay to make fun of girls for wearing their older brother's clothes? - orbitingdreams, on 06/12/2008, -4/+3Not really, there are brands of drain pipes made for boys too
- twiztidsinz, on 06/12/2008, -6/+4>>I'm sure they will. I'm sure gays will stop being
>>bullied when they stop being flamboyantly gay
You'd be surprised actually. There were a few gay guys i went to school with, the ones who were flamboyant got ***** for it, the ones who didnt seemed to fit in rather well.
>>and jocks will stop being ridiculed when they pick up
>> a textbook and flip down their collar.
And again, yeah. The people who choose to be their own person and not just fit in with their group tend to get along with everyone else a hell of a lot better. - lydecker, on 06/12/2008, -4/+3"You'd be surprised actually. There were a few gay guys i went to school with, the ones who were flamboyant got ***** for it, the ones who didnt seemed to fit in rather well."
You missed the point. I'm not suprised. Yes, people who act differently will get *****, and people who act how society deems normal won't. But my point is they shouldn't have to. Nerds, gays, emo kids, muslims, fundamentalists... if they all seem normal they'll be treated normal... but that doesn't mean those who aren't normal deserve it.
"The people who choose to be their own person and not just fit in with their group tend to get along with everyone else a hell of a lot better."
Now this contradicts your previous statement, since apparently when normal people are themselves, they get along. But when feminine gays are themselves, they don't. - twiztidsinz, on 06/12/2008, -2/+3It wasn't acting 'normal'.. it was the exact opposite.. so no, I'm not contradicting myself.
It was those who were their own person (both the gays and the 'jocks') who are the ones that got along well.. the gays who were stereotypically gay and the jocks who couldn't figure out which end was up on a book were the ones who got ***** and had to stick to their cliques.
You can be gay without being flamboyant..
You can play sports without being stupid..
But when you choose to be someone else to fit in, more people are going to have a problem with you. - lydecker, on 06/12/2008, -3/+5Oh, so you think that gays who are stereotypically gay aren't being themselves? If people are behaving like a stereotype, then it must be them acting like it, and not their natural selves?
Flamboyant gays and jocks who can't read a book are not being their own person?
You can be gay without being flamboyant. Some people are flamboyant, some people are not. Be yourself, whether it be flamboyant or not.
You can be a jock without being stupid. Some people are stupid, some people are not. Be yourself, whether it be stupid or not.
But sometimes, being yourself will cause people to have a problem with you. - twiztidsinz, on 06/12/2008, -2/+2I was going to post a response to your comment explaining how someone who has the mental capacity to memorize a playbook would also have the mental capacity to read and learn from other books and so on, but I think I'll just simplify it for you...
stfu fag. - lydecker, on 06/12/2008, -3/+2Yeah yeah, I sympathize with emos and I get called emo. I sympathize with gays and I get called gay. For some reason I sympathize with dumb jocks, and I don't get commented on my athletic ability.
I have a feeling you're done here. - Kyrato, on 07/27/2008, -1/+1@lydecker: "Is it okay to make fun of girls for wearing their older brother's clothes"
No. Its hot.
- fredJdukes, on 06/12/2008, -5/+4Emos thrive on the hostility of others, obviously, this kid wasn't getting enough QUALITY ***** from his peers.
- twiztidsinz, on 06/12/2008, -8/+14As soon as they stop wearing their younger sisters jeans and hoodies I'm sure they'll stop being bullied.

- zer0hour, on 06/12/2008, -1/+5who's Finlay?
- orbitingdreams, on 06/12/2008, -4/+22Wow, that is ignorant. Suicide is not natural for anyone, if anything it is caused by the constant bullying in his life, not being "emo"
- mattlohkamp, on 06/12/2008, -1/+1That's not ignorance - ignorance is not being able to recognize and appreciate sarcasm.
- DiggzDE, on 06/12/2008, -5/+15Isn't "emo" all about being in "touch" with your emotions. Particularly the unwanted "I hate myself", "life sucks" kind of emotions?
And I must ask. When the hell did Blink-182 become associated by Emo? Dammit people. That wasn't emo music when I was younger. Normal people listened to it.- fredJdukes, on 06/12/2008, -0/+5When they started wearing eyeliner and getting emovers, i guess...

- Coolmatt49, on 06/12/2008, -8/+5Just relax, emo people kill themselves all the time. They get used to it after a while.
- PopcornDave, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4So you're saying that all emo's are just re-incarnated?
- zeiben, on 06/12/2008, -0/+6Man, I hope you don't end up as parent to an emo kid.
- Kyrato, on 07/27/2008, -1/+1Being a parent to an emo kid is easy. "Son.. if you want to be hurt so much, let me do it."
Guarantee he wont cut himself any more.

Secondly, this kid obviously had emotional problems and If you ask me this Emo ***** was already suicidal before this incident occurred and was going to attempt/commit suicide at some point in his life.- gmiley, on 06/12/2008, -0/+31Statistics show that 100% of of the people who commit suicide will attempt to kill themselves at least once in their lifetime...

- StabmasterArson, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4Well spoken, sir.
- julianrod, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3Yes, I blame the parents too. All that happened to him online could happen on the street or wherever. And, as usual, the parents want the government to raise their kids, or maybe more Big Brother vigilant stuff: "I'm not sure what influence these sites have - but if they are a method of expressing things, maybe they should be checked more"
- TrevorBelmont, on 06/12/2008, -0/+4I don't think it's fair to blame the parents without knowing a hell of a lot more details. Sometimes good people do their level best and kids still snuff it.

Even dictionary.com thinks it should be the standard:
"He was sentenced to be hanged by the neck until dead. In the sense of legal execution, hung is also quite common and is standard in all types of speech and writing except in legal documents. When legal execution is not meant, hung has become the more frequent form: The prisoner hung himself in his cell."

They never married. And the father left to start a new family. I don't think any amount of teasing could compete with that.
And when did alternative music become lame? I love the Foo Fighters. Most the people on Digg must not be old enough to remember the last FF song they heard on the radio. Go listen to Everlong or Big Me and learn.
- randall82, on 06/12/2008, -2/+33He didn't hang himself because of the bullying, that's what the parents want to blame it on. The way he dressed, acted, and everything else they were making fun of him for, were all symptoms of depression that probably started long before. The parents just need somewhere to point right now.
- orbitingdreams, on 06/12/2008, -6/+2And you would know this how?
- warlokaz2004, on 06/12/2008, -4/+0after something like this you get people saying "If only we'd seen the warning signs..." -- I'd say being emo is your big warning sign right there.
- ramunenke, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3because its simply a stage of depression. Denial. It happens when parents blame a popular video game for a young killer's rampage, its what happens when family blames movies for a young murderer's deathtoll, its what happens when the country blames music for anything. The Extreme Minority doesnt prove the rule only the exception. He had a ***** up life and his Bebo account could not have been the half of it.
- PopcornDave, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1And why hasn't every nerd in high school since the 50's done the same thing? If being bullied because of the way you dress is going to cause you to commit suicide, there'd be one hell of a lot more kids suicides each year.
- mdmiamifl, on 06/12/2008, -1/+11If his parents knew what was going on why didn't they do anything.
- walshgopher, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1I used to get picked on all the time in school. I guess my skin was a bit thicker because not only did I learn how to resolve my conflicts, I also learned independence.
Parents can't coddle you every step of the way, in fact almost all kids go through some rebellious phase or another.
There are hundreds of emos in most urban communities and not all of them are going to choose the axe.
To be blunt, this boy was defective. His instinct to live was fragile enough to suggest a deeper physiological problem.

- DarkReign16, on 06/12/2008, -12/+39So to prove that he isn't emo, he killed himself?
- shizamonkey, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4I don't understand why everyone is calling this kid emo. Because he listened to a certain type of music and dressed how he did? By the way his style was described I would call him scene...I listen to all those bands, Foo Fighters and Blink-182 being 2 of my favorite, and all my friends dress as this boy was described...does that make me emo?
- DarkReign16, on 06/12/2008, -3/+3How else do you define emo?
He dressed up like an emo kid, he listened to emo music, and he killed himself because kids online hurt his feelings.
Sorry, but if that's not emo....- shizamonkey, on 06/14/2008, -0/+1his style was scene. yes he did obviously get depressed enough to kill himself, and was being emotionally insecure, but that's the only reason why he should be called emo. not for the music or clothes he liked.
- Kyrato, on 07/27/2008, -1/+1"scene"? Is that a word you use to describe your individuality? Well use whatever word you want, your looks, actions, and hangout spots portray your social status, not words.
"but that's the only reason why he should be called emo"
So he was not emo till he killed himself? even if he looked, acted, and talked like you? Cmon, throwing him out of your social group is cold.
- DarkReign16, on 06/12/2008, -3/+3How else do you define emo?
- aaron552, on 06/12/2008, -2/+1that's logical... right?

- cambob76, on 06/12/2008, -5/+39Parents fault. They raised him to be a victim.

I guess he was fine until Al Gore invented the internet...- Pillage, on 06/12/2008, -0/+4he would have died due to global warming anyway
- dashboardradio, on 06/12/2008, -12/+5The poor kid should've been on myspace and not whatever the hell Bebo is, he would've had plenty of friends there.
Either way, why weren't the parents doing some sort of supervision of his internet use? He was only 13, perfect age for self-esteem issues. Most kids aren't going to go crying to mommy about something like that. If they were closer to him and kept up with what he was doing online, maybe they would've noticed something was wrong.- shizamonkey, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2Maybe there's a reason he wasn't close to them. He was probably just a normal kid, not too distant or extra close to his parents. Some things are too hard to monitor...personally I don't think my parents would notice if there was something wrong with me...a lot of people would just pass it off as a normal teen thing.
- aaron552, on 06/12/2008, -2/+1sure... if suicidal tendencies are a "normal teen thing"
- shizamonkey, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2By the "normal teen thing" was any odd, almost lightly depressed moods might have been passed off as just a mood swing. I know a lot of my friends seem depressed when they're bored, but then can change to crazy happy in a moments notice.
- dashboardradio, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2I'd say they are. Thoughts, at least.
- dashboardradio, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3I agree.. It just bothers me that from the sound of it, if they had taken one look at his page, they would've noticed all of the bullying. They seem so quick to fully blame the kids on Bebo after the fact, when maybe this could've all been prevented if they'd taken the time to ask him who he talks to online, what pages he frequents, any one question like that. Even an older sibling could've asked.
It really bothers me when a family can be that oblivious, and so quick to blame others afterwards.
- aaron552, on 06/12/2008, -2/+1sure... if suicidal tendencies are a "normal teen thing"

- mrzack, on 06/12/2008, -19/+4Perhaps instead he found out that 9/11 = INSIDE JOB. too much to handle I guess...
- wonderchemist, on 06/12/2008, -15/+4Pfft, the kid needed to learn how to go out in style, and this wasn't it.
- lydecker, on 06/12/2008, -9/+43I'm still sad that people feel have justified being "emo" are the new cool victims to target for bullying and harassment. Grow up, people.
- OrangeTide, on 06/12/2008, -25/+5don't ***** care pussie.
- aelias, on 06/12/2008, -1/+1My first thought was, "Go cut yourself, pussy." I find it appropriate at least that it was the first comment. I'm sorry you got dugg down. Maybe it was your spelling. I'm digging you back up. I'll get dugg down for it, and you'll still be in the hole so it won't matter to you either. It's all so pointless. Where did I put that new pack of razors?
- Galaxylander, on 06/12/2008, -1/+12I agree completely; people make me sick.
- Logrusmage, on 06/12/2008, -6/+4Emo people are annoying. They whine and bitch about their lives without trying to improve them at all. They're slugs. Maybe if they grew the hell up, they'd realize that life: A) Isn't so bad. B) Shouldn't be defined by the music you listen to. and C) doesn't revolve around them.
- GabingtoN, on 06/12/2008, -3/+3Sounds like you're the one defining them on what THEY listen to.
Their brains aren't the same as yours, some have chemical misbalances, so it's not as easy to just go "Oh, life isn't so bad! :D :D :D :D :D!"
Stop labelling people like that, because people who suffer mental illnesses go through a lot of *****, and are much stronger than the average person. - HigherLogic, on 06/12/2008, -0/+5LOL so being "emo" is a mental illness and/or the result of a chemical "misbalance" ???
- PopcornDave, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3You do realize you've just described a majority of the prozaic popping housewives of America don't you?
- WoollyMittens, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2That is still no reason to harrass or bully anyone Logrusmage. Try again.
- GabingtoN, on 06/12/2008, -3/+3Sounds like you're the one defining them on what THEY listen to.
- Bersy, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1cool victims? I've known emo is ***** for 15 years, and I am not going to stop saying it because some kid killed himself. yeah it's sad but obviously he had some bigger underlying problems. mentally healthy people do not kill themselves because they're "called names on the internet"..
- ant3ros, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1Have you ever considered why kids can turn to "emo"? Of course they have underlying issues, but to attack a medium where they can find some semblance of comfort is just stupid. I think it is more mentally impaired to attack people who have vulnerable esteem. There's a word describing such abusive people, psychopathic.
- OrangeTide, on 06/12/2008, -25/+5don't ***** care pussie.
- djphatjive, on 06/12/2008, -13/+1***** a kid died people, have some respect for the looser!
- d3vn3t, on 06/12/2008, -0/+12It's "loser" moron.
- haterofps3, on 06/12/2008, -4/+8I guess the internet is our generations lawn darts or marbles.
If you are too stupid to understand that what is said on the internet is ***** then really maybe he did the world a favor.
