True story: I wanted to go to college for a lib. arts degree so that I could graduate and become a teacher, but my parents (a high school english teacher and a high school principal) sat me down in high school and pleaded with me not to do it. So I went to business school instead.
There's something wrong when teachers talk kids out of becoming teachers because the job sucks. I hope this doesn't sound too arrogant, but I think I would have been a damn good teacher, too.
Anyways, my best friend from childhood *did* follow the family career path- he's been a teacher since he graduated in 2007, and he already hates it.
