- MikeMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+92Too bad they posted bail. People that violent shouldn't be out in public.
- CamZak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+69Idiots, instead of fessing up and go "Okay, we messed up" they have no shame and instead try to kill the guy. The wife threatened to get a gun, and was going to try and beat the guy in the head with a rock untill a bypasser stopped her. I hope the reporter files a civil suit against the couple, sure he probably has a lot of money as a reporter, but I'd sue them into the ground just out of spite.
On top of that. What idiot beats up someone in front of a video camera? I didn't do it officer! They used CG animation and framed me! I was actually defending myself! Yeaah..at least they were helpful in making sure that there was clear evidence of them being in the wrong. - Lososaurus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+64I don't normally condone striking a woman, but I'll make an exception for her.
- nodong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+64In the guys defense, reporters are annoying when you're trying to commit crime.
- KissTheRing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+63Stay classy San Diego

- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -9/+44"Go ***** yourself, San Diego!"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29you should beat it down like an investigative reporter
- mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29It kinda looked like 'COPS'.. with no cop around....
except in the ending. - wistar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27Probably a lot more useful in the final conclusion than the the assistance the camerman could have offered.
- mikemac, on 10/12/2007, -7/+34Ahhh yes, the comment by a racist bastard...
Just because his name is Suleiman doesn't make him Muslim
If he was, just because he's Muslim doesn't make all Muslims violent pricks. - mikemac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21It wasn't a "Fox News" reporter, per se... It was an investigative reporter working for a local station affiliated with Fox Broadcasting. I think this title is more accurate.
Correct me if I'm wrong... We have a Fox affiliate in Sacramento and it's nothing like Fox News. - mikemac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Amen! This one guy is all in my face about embezzling... "Did you embezzle this, did you defraud these people, did Joe Shmoe really write that suicide note?" Jeez, give a guy a break already!
- bennyboy371, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22Why was it under comedy?
The whole dupe thing is annoying, too. I mean, its almost like you're asking for a reenactment. - pt4117, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19@diggmaddy
There is a big difference between Fox News, and some Fox affiliat's local news coverage. - wistar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Were you expecting summary execution?
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Here's another link...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9b5EQQU6nA - FastZ, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20This was all over the news yesterday. The guy was allegedly buying real estate under false identities and Mattes was doing his own little "investigation" on them like all reporters do. Guess he and his wife just were tired of it and didnt want to get caught so they beat the guy up. Too bad they were dumb enough to do it while the TV crew was filming. Sometimes stupid people amuse me.
- mikemac, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Would you rather have videotaped evidence of this guy picking a fight and you defending yourself, or would you like another person to help beat the crap out of him so you both can go to jail when the police show up to find two guys standing over a battered, unconscious man? Your call.
- Ascus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15A good cameraman will always keep the camera going unless the camera itself is threatened. Now there is proof of what happened vs just the word of the reporter (which would be distrusted because he is biast and snce the reporter joined the frey, he testimony would be suspect as well) Since he staed back, the attackers will be convicted. And since they will be convicted of a violent crime instead of just fraud, they will get some time in more secure prison.
- FishPoisonCon, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22um, no... if you are in the same country you were born in, regardless of the country your parents were born in, YOU ARE NOT AN IMMIGRANT. jesus X! you people just get more stupid by the minute, don't you?
- themastersb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Looked like the news reporter is going to screw over that guys scam and now screw him over with a lawsuit.
- allanpat, on 10/12/2007, -17/+30i had no problem in firefox
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14crazy ***** latina chicks man.
- mrnukem, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14The reporter must have been well thought of by his co-workers. Notice the way his camera man put down the camera and rushed in to try and save his life..
Still the guy and his wife need to be in jail for a very long time. Let him try that stuff in the California State Pen and see how long he lasts. - Enendar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11They can, but most choose not to :)
- VipeNess, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68GCkJ1J8MI
watch the news anchor reactions on this video - mozzep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9attacking a reporter is probably not a good idea, considering they most likely have a camera near by...
- suppazone, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Oh you watched the video too?
- sctechguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Having worked with media people, I can tell you that in most cases, if something like this were to happen, the reporter (or whomever is in front of the camera) usually do NOT want the camera operators to stop filming. One (sad) example that comes to mind, is Steve Irwin. He had a clause in his contract that stated that his cameramen should always keep filming, no matter what...even in death.
The above comment is true, too, about the video being of more assistance, as evidence, then the cameraman probably could have been as physical help. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Since they're involved with identity fraud, I'm sure they've got a few IDs they can show you claiming to be US citizens.
My money is on them being here illegaly. - EpicSA, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9These people have already been released on bail....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Probably true, but that doesn't mean they won't have to answer for their crimes. A felony is no small thing, and this one will be tough to get out of.
- TheSolomon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Stupid people always amuse me. ;-)
- adjustafresh, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13Love the camera guys. Always filming - never helping. Thanks a Hell of a lot camera guy for getting my ass-whoppin' on tape.
- bightchee, on 10/12/2007, -10/+16It doesn't work for me in Firefox, either...
... in Windows Media Player 6.4 under Windows NT 4.0 - mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6They were showing the video in a few channels yesterday. The guys face is really bloodied and scratched. At first I thought someone tried hitting him in the face with a bottle or something.
- bigpeeler, on 10/12/2007, -21/+27Nahhh...the Democrats can't beat anyone.
- rowlodge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6jeez!.... can't you just redirect it to you tube...?... had to search for it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BSsIHFH80k - mikemac, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"Immigunts! I knew it was them! Even when it was the bears, I knew it was them!"
- fascfoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5You know, there's really no other way to put this: You're a ***** retard. That sums it up.
- mikemac, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I don't know... San Diego is a taint's distance away from Mexico.
- HPSauce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Because people here are using the assumption that they're from another country based on how they look (a factor of which is race) and a lesser extent, they way they speak.
- AhronZombi, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11im curious if digg has racists. screw the guy and his wife they suck. but it has nothing to do with being from outside the US racist pricks
- merkle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3go away dupe police
- yidali, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I think it runs windows media player format :/
- jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I hope they go to jail for a long time.
- aznboi04k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3being a tv reporter can be a very dangerous job. my friend, a tv reporter, almost got ran over by a truck that was driven by a disgruntle landlord. the landlord was abusing his tenant and my friend exposed him on tv.
- craigpestell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I saw the interview with the guy that claimed that Suleiman called and threatened him at 2:07am when he got out of jail. He said "as far as I'm concerned, he's a terrorist". The chick was charged with uttering terrorist threats or some *****.
The current use of the word 'terrorist' in America is diluting its meaning. I no longer think of a 'terrorist' with the hatred that I used to. It's like telling someone "I love you" 5 times a day. It begins to lose its meaning after a while. - merkle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4ironical. heh.
