- sjbdallas, on 06/05/2009, -2/+81In Soviet Russia, foreign governments pay you?
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -4/+74Oh please - the Russian economy was a POS before the banks failed.
- blackhappy, on 06/06/2009, -3/+56Russia hasn't been able to make Imperialism, Communism or Capitalism work!
- cyrusuncc, on 06/05/2009, -25/+65Dear Russia,
Go ***** yourself
Sincerely,
America - paho, on 06/05/2009, -3/+25The craziest letter i have ever read!
- acidshred, on 06/06/2009, -0/+21There was a massive property bubble in Russia. Not really Obama's fault.
- osko2052, on 06/06/2009, -11/+30Obama, "Sure, comrades I will whip out my federal government checkbook. The American people have a few more trillion to burn."
- Shadowrydr, on 06/06/2009, -15/+30Actually it kinda makes sense that they'd ask this. Obama is giving money to everyone in sight, why not them too?
- RuffRidr, on 06/05/2009, -18/+29Good call by them. It's probably a 50/50 shot that he will give it to them.
- vroom101, on 06/05/2009, -3/+14What's the best response?
a) http://blog.pharmalive.com/wp-content/uploads/2008 ...

c) a and b - Shwaavay, on 06/05/2009, -3/+14FAT chance ruskiis!
- zerton, on 06/06/2009, -0/+10It's a very Russian reaction to blame their own ***** economy squarely on the US.
- MacParrot, on 06/06/2009, -1/+11Yeah, but the NEXT thing will be HUGE! You'll see. There's a five-year plan for it!
- irvin666, on 06/06/2009, -0/+10You know what they say in Russia, "You'll pretend to pay us and we'll pretend to work!"
- docbob84, on 06/06/2009, -1/+10It better be very cold somewhere else before they get any money from the US.
- trevor98, on 06/06/2009, -7/+15Why not, isn't everything America's fault now? /s
- BorsKaegel, on 06/05/2009, -1/+8P.S. It is very cold in Mother Russia.
- meed, on 06/06/2009, -1/+7How about... "go ***** yourselves" that is a great response.
I think the issue was pretty much a started internationally. The key stone that caused this crap to fall was the financial products based on US morgage payments. But what caused those to fail? Oil prices and free trade causing jobs to be moved to developing nations. Who is more to blame China for the cheap labor, the Opec members for making oil prices rise so much? or the finacial institutions that purchased these shaky morgages? - barstegry, on 06/06/2009, -3/+9Do they belong to a union?
- MacParrot, on 06/06/2009, -1/+7Hey, he's been said to be Malaysian, Kenyan, and Hawaiian (yes that STILL makes him a US Citizen all you crazy conspiracy kooks out there), so why not add Russian to the mix? At this rate he'll have the whole UN covered before the end of his first term.
- skylinec83, on 06/06/2009, -1/+6yeah...good luck with that...
- Philbert, on 06/06/2009, -0/+5Craziest letter I've ever read is Q, that's up with that thing?
- benitojuarez, on 06/06/2009, -2/+7Damn Russian ice trolls
- pinchduck, on 06/06/2009, -1/+6*****. US Bankers are responsible for the crises in the United States. If you're countries regulators were too stupid to take on our mortgage backed securities, then the responsibility falls on your country. Call up your own regulators and bitch, if you can be bothered.
And if you want to vote in our elections, get off your lazy ass, get over here, and get naturalized. We are begged by the rest of the world to "meddle in their affairs" all the time. Remember the European response to the civil war in Yugoslavia? It was little more than "Save us, Bill Clinton, you're our only hope".
Personally, I would love it if we closed up all our bases, pulled everything home, stopped all foreign aid, and told the rest of the world "Best of luck, see ya later". But I'm sure I'm too ignorant to understand how we owe you our cash and leadership in exchange for idiotic criticism. - Leezus, on 06/06/2009, -4/+8ehem...
http://blogs.e-rockford.com/applesauce/files/2009/ ... - TheInformer, on 06/06/2009, -0/+4Russians better watch out, or Obama is going to take them over. By accepting "his" money, the Russians will have to let Obama make all the decisions, decide how much to spend on entertainment, and the like.
- Twinnie, on 06/06/2009, -1/+5I can appreciate the plight of workers just trying to be paid for work they've done, but since when has the west been sending aid to Russia?
- linagee, on 06/06/2009, -10/+14Who dugg this down? Is there a communist in the room?
- publiclurker, on 06/06/2009, -0/+4What caused them to fail was the fact that the mortgages were in an unsustainable bubble. If the ratings agencies had accurately rated the financial products as the crap they were, none of this would have started. Unfortunately, they were payed for giving good ratings. Giving accurate ratings would cause the banks to go elsewhere.
- demiz23, on 06/06/2009, -0/+3oh come on people! at least blame it on the British empire or Genghis Khan or Alexander the great. We've been ***** things up for a long while. Sure we've been passed the baton but causing world problems is what civilizations do.
- inactive, on 06/06/2009, -3/+6I would rather have had the money went to the Russian workers than the scumbags in AIG or GM.
- pinchduck, on 06/06/2009, -0/+3Russia budgeted the work, Russia can pay for it.
- judicar, on 06/06/2009, -0/+3>In answer to our reasonable question about the reasons for this unlawful behavior, the Employer (in the person of the Chief Engineer and Production Manager) said that the collapse of the U.S. housing loan market was to blame for everything.
I think this is the rarely seen and evenly more rarely understood "russian humor". Read the letter again. - Ravatar, on 06/06/2009, -0/+3I think this has more to do with option 2:
2. Not place the blame upon the USA in the current situation and thereby consider the Employer and his representatives of JSC “Promstroy” as malicious slanderers and detesters of United States policy. - TheInformer, on 06/06/2009, -2/+5Dear America,
We want to be f***ed the same way you're being.
Sincerely,
Russia - gabrielgonzalez, on 06/06/2009, -1/+4ROFLCOPTER?
- jd8coke, on 06/06/2009, -0/+3Didn't this recession start in China a few years ago? Go ask China for some money, they are closer as well.
- Gusbob, on 06/06/2009, -3/+6There is a war budget? I thought the military gets unlimited funding!
- deema1, on 06/06/2009, -3/+6SURE! Moneys for everybodyz!
- milarepa, on 06/05/2009, -2/+4No!
Definitely this, just to throw salt on their wounds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0 - ranon78, on 06/06/2009, -2/+4Dear Obama,
Can you pay my salary please. - inactive, on 06/06/2009, -5/+7Barack Husseinovich
No comment on "Barack Husseinovich"? Awwww it was the best bit in there. - jjesusfreak01, on 06/06/2009, -0/+2I think the next big plan is Putin takes over as emperor, and for slightly longer than 5 years.
- inactive, on 06/06/2009, -0/+2http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/photos/uncategoriz ...
- linagee, on 06/06/2009, -4/+6Bush no longer has control over where your tax dollars are funneled.
- ludar, on 06/06/2009, -0/+2Nope, the Mujaheddin was funded very well by the US and Saudi Arabia during the USSR invasion of afgahnistan but the group already existed and was fighting before the US involvement. Al Queida wasn't in existance yet.
- inactive, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1***** sublime dude.
- neseus, on 06/07/2009, -0/+1*obama hands them a $5 bill*
that should cover it. - inactive, on 06/06/2009, -3/+4Oh, and BTW Diggers, those workers found a way for the world to hear about their problem in a pretty simple way.
I don't think that they would ever expect an answer from Obama, but they still managed to mention their employers' name, the situation they are in, etc, and get our attention.
I say that the "go ***** yourself" here are from idiots who don't really understand how the world work. What should they have done? Start an online petition? Start a ridiculous boycott of their employers' product? Would that have gotten your "respect" (like if they cared)? Would we have heard of their situation if they did?
Bravo Digg! - twoblink, on 08/31/2009, -0/+1Makes perfect sense. Obama should extend free healthcare to Russians. I mean, there's no limit on Obama's Dole right?
