Remarkable Response to Rosie O'Donnell's Racist Joke watch!
youtube.com — After Rosie O'Donnell made some racist Asian language impersonations, she got quite a big backlash from the Asian community. However, this is possibly the most remarkable response yet and actually got Rosie O'Donnell to respond to the issue.

- kanvas, on 04/20/2008, -3/+14Ok, I realize this was meant to decry stereotypes, but ironically, the way the video was shot made me think there was about to be a fight scene.
- WraTH017, on 04/20/2008, -14/+8A bit late?
Didn't Rosie once say "I hated the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live."? Oh, no... my mistake, that was John McCain. I guess Rosie's gaffe is more "angry-video" worthy.- adminmatt, on 04/20/2008, -4/+5so are so ignorant.

- ElAssoWipo, on 04/20/2008, -21/+10Dear Losie,
We, the Asian community, all vely angly at you. Why must you make such lacist jokes? We all a ploud people. We do not speak like that. We speak Engrish like evelybody erse. The steleotypes must end. And you all a vely fat and ugry resbian.- JimmySpaza, on 04/20/2008, -11/+6I've been waiting for a time when you'd sink to the level of a racist...and I could report you. DONE.
- ElAssoWipo, on 04/20/2008, -8/+6So that's one for you and about 678 for the rest of us.

- JimmySpaza, on 04/20/2008, -8/+4Rosie doesn't have the guts (well, mass-wise yes but not fortitude) to address her racism. Her ego-centered, emotion-based morality allows her to use such hate speech...and then be bewildered why anyone would have a problem with her.
Face it. That plus-size train wreck just got owned...and all her supporters know it.
She should be taken off television, not for her radical homosexual liberalism, but for her hate speech. I'm not talking about censoring her. She can stand...or sit in a study chair...on a street corner and promote hate.
But, a private television company doesn't need to promote her show, her lies, her leftwing blather, and her hate any longer. - TomK88, on 04/20/2008, -3/+5The View has provided us with so much insightful analysis and discussion over the years...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNC117UYsHs - Azimuth1, on 04/20/2008, -11/+6What the hell is offensive about someone saying "ching chong ching"? It might be a bad impression of a language, that doesn't make it racist. Language =/= race, and doing an impression of a language, however bad it might be =/= making fun of a race. Would it be racist if a Chinese person did a terrible impression of English? No, of course not. Get over yourself.
- carpespasm, on 04/20/2008, -3/+4I tend to agree there. I don't think it was rascist, she didn't seem to mean any hatred or belittlement by her remark. It was a crap impersonation, but she wasn't making jokes about eating cats or some stupid *****. Maybe I'm missing out on the racist part. It might be offensive to have your culture so badly impersonated and generalized, but I'm failing to see where it's racist.
- Burento, on 04/20/2008, -1/+4It would be the same as impersonating some urban environments and saying. "Yo *****, These bitches and hoes all bout dis Danny cracker."
I can see where that would come off well. ;)- carpespasm, on 04/20/2008, -4/+3That isn't a good analogy since she didn't say anything that's really Chinese or use actual words, she just made noises that have some simple phonetic similarity to Chinese.
- oldhick, on 04/20/2008, -1/+1I think Carpespasm is the only one here who actually watched the whole video and gets it. There's a difference between doing an impression of someone and mocking an entire culture.
- Burento, on 04/20/2008, -1/+1I agree. In no way, shape, or form, did she mean any harm or think less of Chinese people. However, there is a responsibility when you are a public figure and she handled it bad. Even the video focuses on her response to the anger of Asians and her playing it off saying she is a comedian.
- Burento, on 04/20/2008, -1/+4It would be the same as impersonating some urban environments and saying. "Yo *****, These bitches and hoes all bout dis Danny cracker."
- oldhick, on 04/20/2008, -2/+6Man, you guys are really dense. Watch the video. First it wasn't an impression... How is ching chong ching chong an impression? They're not even words. They don't even sound like chines words. That what the gentleman was trying to explain. Ching chong ching chong is simply a rehashing of an age old racist Chinese stereotype. Impressions are great. Do an impression of a Chinese man or woman. But what Rosie did was to mock an entire culture. Figure it out people.

- neuro420, on 04/20/2008, -4/+8People do hillbilly impressions all the time, but you can't be racist against white people so its cool. I'm not white buy the way, I just can't stand crybabies and there precious little hurt feelings. I'm sure your all perfect though, you've never made fun of someone different from you, like fat dykes.
- ToMZiLLA, on 04/20/2008, -3/+8some hillbillies do sound like the impressions. but i can guarantee you that no chinese person sounds like that
- kinseyincanada, on 04/20/2008, -3/+8yes the poor white man has suffered far too long, for years we have suffered the intolerance from the rest of the world, it must be said that white men can dance, and we can jump and that not every white person likes mayo. Why wont this suffering end. Maybe one day in the future the white man can be considered equal among everyone else.
- h0ser, on 04/20/2008, -5/+4This is so silly that people overreact in situations like this. Rosie is a loudmouth, it's just the way she is. Sticks adn stones may break your bones, but false impressions of a different language will never hurt me.
- Burento, on 04/20/2008, -0/+4I think it was more her response to people being upset. She could have said.. "I'm Sorry" and it would have all been forgotten.. but instead she got angry and defensive.
- BriVaps, on 04/20/2008, -8/+2is it true that slopes/nips have vaginas that go the wrong direction
- Herostratus, on 04/20/2008, -4/+3This is over a year old, definitely not news. Point taken all the same.
- ToMZiLLA, on 04/20/2008, -4/+4That is not an impression. It's just a lack of respect towards a language and the people who speak that language.
- lucutus, on 04/20/2008, -3/+16My impression of Rosie's language: OM NOM NOM NOM GULP. OM NOM NOM

- Burento, on 04/20/2008, -0/+4Funny how where Rosie had once posted an apology after viewing this video, is now empty.
http://www.rosie.com/blog/2007/02/24/beau-sia/ - SilverStandard, on 04/20/2008, -1/+3Perhaps people need to grow thicker skin and not be hypersensitive to things that are vaguely racist.

- Burento, on 04/20/2008, -1/+4Ching chong is an ethnic slur used to mock people of Chinese ancestry or other Asians who may look Chinese, and an onomatopoeia used to represent Chinese language speech patterns by those unfamiliar with them. Many public commentators on the recent usage of the term have deemed it derogatory, and referred to its derogatory usage in history.
- scy1192, on 04/20/2008, -4/+1apparantly, she had apologized over a year ago. http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20004252,0 ...
- Burento, on 04/20/2008, -1/+6This was the apology.. "So apparently 'ching-chong,' unbeknownst to me, is a very offensive way to make fun, quote unquote, or mock, Asian accents. Some people have told me it's as bad as the N-word. I was like, really? I didn't know that."
Pretty heart felt i know...

- diabolicdiablo, on 04/20/2008, -1/+7Why wasn't Rosie banned like Don Imus? That way we wouldn't have to hear the ignorant garbage that spews from her carpet muncher.
- jaxontyler, on 04/20/2008, -2/+3Rosie doesn't deserve a 2 second response much less this. I'd send her a turd in a paper bag.
- Stevanoski, on 04/20/2008, -1/+2But she hates America and G.Bush so it is impossible for her to be racist.
