- TheAutoInsider, on 05/22/2009, -12/+1058I think what the title meant to say was; "Rapper 'Lil' Bow Wow is a HUMONGOUS douchebag with no talent."
- DiggzDE, on 05/01/2009, -9/+591I'm just hoping if people make enough of a fuss of this on the internet. Mainstream news will pick it up, like they always do, and bash Bow Wow.
- slyzxx, on 05/02/2009, -10/+534I bet he went to buy a big necklace or some *****
- rhdesigns, on 05/01/2009, -10/+397Does this really surprise anybody?
- draculthemad, on 05/02/2009, -6/+303Actually, its considered bad form for a 'professional' entertainer to cancel. Other artists have performed under very bad personal circumstances rather than cancel a show they have already scheduled. It is considered a mark of professionalism and pride.
Canceling at the last minute can not be considered anything other than a dick move. Especially since he cited 'safety concerns' when the venue had evidently gone so far as to ask the cops to lock down an entire street despite being located directly behind a police station. - aralls, on 05/02/2009, -9/+304Stephen Colbert & Kanye West: Who the ***** is lil bow wow?
- Cockslap, on 05/02/2009, -4/+272I lol'd at this....
"I can't believe that any superstar like Bow Wow would do this."
Superstar my ass, he ***** sucks. - MrUploads, on 05/02/2009, -5/+230If you call yourself "'lil bow wow" chances are you're a ***** retard to begin with.
- johnwes16, on 05/02/2009, -65/+237Stolen logic from reddit:
"I'm half and half on this one. The lady was in trouble and should have covered herself better, but it's not like Bow Wow could have known that, either. All celebrities have to cancel an appearance from time to time; just because this time had dire consequences for the owner in question doesn't make him more of an ***** than anyone else. Now if he knew she'd given up her last penny and bailed on her anyway, I could see him being called names, but I don't really think it's warranted in this case." - inactive, on 05/02/2009, -7/+170Hey he was just "keeping it real", and by that i mean dont give a ***** about anyone but himself.
- spookyttws, on 05/02/2009, -7/+159That's pretty ***** up, but just to play devil's advocate for a second, how do you end up owing $80,000 in unpaid taxed AND have such a back credit history that a single late payment is enough for your creditors to foreclose on you? This place seems like a great vessel for change in the community, and I hope a lot of the community's youth benefited from it, but when can't afford the building you own, no amount of goodwill will keep you in business.
Bow Wow is still a douche for backing out of something these people put a lot of love and money into. - Soulflyhigh, on 05/02/2009, -1/+99Guess it surprised the owner of the skate rink
- lostinseganet, on 05/02/2009, -1/+72I thought rappers were suppose to be tough guys. It said he cancelled due to safety concerns. Lol pansy The hood is just too hood for him.
- BorsKaegel, on 05/01/2009, -8/+72So THAT is where that smell is coming from...
- WhistlinTom, on 05/02/2009, -2/+64what's a kanye west..... is that an airline?
- digitalpencil, on 05/02/2009, -7/+673 comments stolent fta:
Every year this comes up. They cant manage the place. Say au revoir already.
Let's see, should I hire Bow Wow and have party or should I pay my mortgage? Great management, no wonder they are under threat of auction. Sounds like the sub prime mess.
It's a shame this woman is blaming the artist Bow Wow. 6 years ago when I managed a recording artist we did a show @ Chez Vous for kids and did not receive our deposit til day before show (3 weeks late). Bow Wow typically charges $25,000-$30,000 a concert so deposit would be half. The capacity in this venue would not enable them to make their money back, as you have to also get artist + entourage hotel rooms, flights, ground transpo, etc.. These folks cannot manage this place, unfortunately they are tarnishing a celebrities name in meantime. They better be careful before Bow Wow's lawyer throws a defamation suit on them also, as he was never booked here.
TBH, it just sounds like these people don't know wtf they're doing.. it's a shame really but hopefully someone with more business sense can buy up this land, re-open the rink and turn a small profit. Either that or setup as a charity.. We used to run something similar where locals set up as a charitable organisation, rented a disused train station and opened a skate-park inside, but they didn't owe the council vast sums in taxes because they understood the necessity of registering as a charity to keep costs down, and the park open.
Not that any of this is going to stop people calling this kid an *****. the *****-storm is now in full force. - ShingoEX, on 05/02/2009, -4/+57He'll always be Lil' Bow Wow until he shows me he's grown the ***** up.
- ScottyAnimal, on 05/02/2009, -3/+51She spent the10,000 she needed to pay the mortgage on setting up a concert to get money to pay for her mortgage? Am I missing something here?
- ZombieSociety, on 05/02/2009, -11/+56He's a rapper. That's adequate reason.
- vvaid117, on 05/02/2009, -22/+67"Rapper Bow Wow was slated to perform, but his manager cancelled the performance at the last minute, citing safety concerns."
That's all we know. Let's not assume the guy is an ass without adequate reason. - guinpen, on 05/02/2009, -6/+50The article doesn't say it was a charity event, the article says she spent the money she could have used to pay the mortgage, to sponsor this event to encourage kids to abandon violence. She wagered the money on the event going successfully and recouping the costs. She took a risk, and got the wrong end of it..
- Berkana, on 05/02/2009, -0/+44Send Vince to do a charity event for them instead:
http://digg.com/d1peKE - SanDiablo78, on 05/02/2009, -7/+47People still roller skate? ... At rinks?
- smacksaw, on 05/02/2009, -1/+38Too bad bad press and not ethics are the motivator for a guy like him.
- Dylson, on 05/02/2009, -2/+39My money is on the *****. Since that's all this guy is.
- LordXykon, on 05/02/2009, -1/+37Seriously though... who is he?
- Dylson, on 05/02/2009, -2/+37No.
- DiggzDE, on 05/01/2009, -0/+34Haha. That would be TOO spot on. ;)
- WiseGuy1020, on 05/02/2009, -3/+37Bow wow has cancer, SARS, and swine flu? Dam, should have worn a condom.
- danewb, on 05/02/2009, -0/+33He's a gay fish.
- morninglorii, on 05/02/2009, -2/+33I've always hated Lil Bow Wow, but never more than when he demanded people just call him "Bow Wow". It's the rapper equivalent of a pre-teen getting mad when someone refers to him as a "little boy".
- Jackson0909, on 05/02/2009, -8/+37Like him or not, the one guy you can depend on to pick a story like this up and run with it is Bill O'reilly.
- jmuch88, on 05/02/2009, -8/+37Damn your stolen logic! The internet is for lynch mobs, not rational thinking.
- nedev, on 05/02/2009, -4/+32RTFA: She would've made a profit on the event.
- LeviTheSmith, on 05/02/2009, -6/+31Because all rappers rap about guns/drugs/girls.
/s - m0llusk, on 05/02/2009, -2/+27The cancellation cited safety concerns which should have been vetted before agreeing to perform.
- Archer007, on 05/02/2009, -2/+27Ginormous clock necklaces.
- nedev, on 05/02/2009, -3/+26And I'm sure those are the only two options, with no such thing as a middle ground. /s
- shortricekid, on 05/02/2009, -0/+22he ain't no giant. he's like 5'5"
- thizzlebot, on 05/02/2009, -3/+25Bow- WOW WHAT A DOUCHE BAG is his new name
- thebeginning, on 05/02/2009, -1/+21He's a young rapper, surprise surprise.
- sneaker98, on 05/02/2009, -8/+26Ladies and gentlemen, the beauty of capitalism. A place that helps keep potential gang members off the streets should be shut down because it's not making enough money.
*Sigh* - misreto, on 05/02/2009, -34/+52She was already in debt and she hired a performer. I feel no pity
- Beeenj, on 05/02/2009, -1/+18ive been looking for a reason to back my hate for lil bow wow besides the name. excellent.
- buckygrad, on 05/02/2009, -0/+17If bad press = less sales he will take notice. The only way to get a reaction is to have his sales tank.
- TruthKid, on 05/02/2009, -0/+17you have changed my life, thank you
- Chak2007, on 05/02/2009, -0/+17do you like fish sticks?
- inactive, on 05/02/2009, -3/+20Yes it does. It was a charity event, 90% of the time people don't LOSE money from charity events.
- mrshickadance9, on 05/02/2009, -1/+17well let's be honest. Women are the source of most problems and they don't know how to drive.
- smolek5228, on 05/02/2009, -4/+20He cheats at Madden too by using glitches to exploit the AI. Prick.
