- digitalArtform, on 09/05/2009, -1/+257I like to shop at the Dollar Palace. It's convenient and casual, and I don't have to get all dressed up like I'm going to Wal-Mart or something..

- joshmoney, on 09/05/2009, -0/+153"I arrived at Wal-mart, mounted my courtesy-scooter (walking is such a drag!) sitting side saddle so that my wolves would show. While I was browsing tube socks, I could hear aroused asthmatic breathing behind me. I turned around to see a slightly sweaty dream in sweatpants and flip-flops standing there. She told me she liked the wolves on my shirt, I told her I wanted to howl at her moon. She offered me a swig from her mountain dew, and I drove my scooter, with her shuffling along side out the door and into the rest of our lives." - B.Govern
- inactive, on 09/05/2009, -1/+116So take pictures.
- BrettFromTibet, on 09/05/2009, -4/+116I digg the idea for this site, but I have personally seen WAY CRAZIER people in Wal-mart. Freaks that make these guys look like normal, upstanding citizens.
- enantiodromia, on 09/05/2009, -15/+85wow, someone works at Walmart.
but seriously, it's pretty funny your entire nutty rant is about people feeling superior to others, while at the same time, you quit obviously are guilty of the same exact thing you are condemning.
did you even consider that there are even cheaper stores than Walmart, and that if you actually believed what you were saying, you would be buying your dinners from the $0.99 store.
did you ever consider that many people have in fact, gone to Walmart a few times, but were completely turned off by the experience, due to drunken rednecks in full display?
did you ever consider that in fact, Walmart does not carry every product in the universe, and that not everyone uses the brand soap you use?
did you ever consider that some of us actually know people who worked at Walmart, who did not in fact get the warm fuzzy feeling you assume people get when they work there, and that they have heard enough stories to avoid Walmart whenever possible?
did you ever consider the fact that some of these "vapid narcissistic morons" you are so worried about used to be small business owners, until Walmart came to their town and ran most competitors out of business?
you are so god damned afraid that other people are looking down their noses at you while you shop at a discount store, that you are now doing the exact same thing to anyone who doesn't look right to you.
If Walmart runs an ad for Xanax, I suggest you purchase as much as possible. - detonatR, on 09/05/2009, -1/+64a friend who works at walmart confirmed the accuracy =(
- noreturn, on 09/05/2009, -3/+62I like to think that she was wearing it in an ironic, Nazi-mocking spirit. How awesome would it be if the swastika no longer stood for hate because nobody took it seriously?
- monodelasno, on 09/05/2009, -16/+75Yours such a brave little soldier.
Does mom pick up the xbox games for you? - inactive, on 09/05/2009, -12/+63Or I could be laughing at the dude who put a wooden spoiler on his cutless supreme? Forget the fact that they act it totally unethical ways to overwork and treat their employees like ***** and force their suppliers to do the same to preserve those low low prices! Maybe that's why i don't shop there? Or I'm not ***** driving from Brentwood to Crenshaw to save $1 on a pack of soda?
- captainhorseboy, on 09/05/2009, -5/+55orrrrr we think its funny to see a dude in tights and his undies showing. get off your high horse bro.
- greentable, on 09/05/2009, -1/+48And why the ***** is this on TechCrunch?
- inactive, on 09/05/2009, -6/+52thye don't care.
- protonone, on 09/05/2009, -3/+48This is why I shop at S-Mart.
- kakwakas, on 09/05/2009, -2/+44Shop smart. Shop S-Mart.
- bdbr, on 09/05/2009, -3/+45Judging people by their race is bigotry, because people can't change their race. Judging people who choose to dress like a cross between a clown and a hooker is not bigotry.
Its sort of like free speech. You have the right to speak your mind. If you use that right to propose the use of voodoo as our national healthcare plan, other people have the right to call you a ***** nutcase. - deepak1uw, on 09/04/2009, -2/+41Unfortunately it is funny…!!
- Apocolypse007, on 09/05/2009, -25/+64is that Sarah Palin in the nazi hoodie?
- inactive, on 09/05/2009, -0/+37It's like a J Peterman catalog for Wal-Mart.
- shadowcode, on 09/05/2009, -0/+32You have to admit, the Bat Bug is pretty sweet. Sort of.
http://peopleofwalmart.com/?p=1011 - DaDrake, on 09/05/2009, -3/+33I think it would be best if she took off that hoodie...
and showed us her ***** ^.^ - PlasticHotDog, on 09/05/2009, -0/+30People with less money don't have to dress all freaky. It has nothing to do with class.
- DaDrake, on 09/05/2009, -3/+32Because, nerds want to really really really believe they have better fashion sense than someone...
- Atario, on 09/05/2009, -3/+32Seems to be there with a coupla black dudes, too. None of them have a clue what that is...?
- psisar, on 09/05/2009, -1/+28She kinda looks like Sarah Palin
- MSUKate, on 09/05/2009, -3/+29i mean they all should be ashamed about going out like that in public. But Swastika woman?
My god.that goes beyond dumb, into "the irony of the situation is that I'm so dumb, by evidence of wearing this shirt, that I would have been a victim of the Nazi eugenics program had I been in Europe in the 30's/40's"
Way to make a statment - geodebug, on 09/05/2009, -0/+26Walmart MILF: Mullet I'd Like to Forget
- peestandingup, on 09/05/2009, -0/+25I find K-Marts to be much worse actually. At least here in the states. People wise & just the store in general on the inside is usually in shambles. Im surprised that company hasnt went belly up yet.
I remember I went in one about 2 years ago & they had a Nintendo GameCube set up in their electronics department. It didnt work of course & looked like it had been there for ages. Remember that this is well after the Wii came out. Like at least a year later.
Its like the store that time forgot about. - DaDrake, on 09/05/2009, -3/+28Yea, that never gets old.
- rossnyc, on 09/05/2009, -0/+24It's like one of the best reviews of anything ever.
- inactive, on 09/05/2009, -5/+28Lighten up and ***** off. Being poor has absolutely nothing to do with any of those images. You can be poor and still wear a shirt in public. You can be poor (and fat) and wear properly-fitting clothes (which are, gasp, available at Wal-Mart for low prices!). You can be poor and not have a mullet and wear wolf shirts. The problem with these people is not that they are poor (which I'm not sure why you automatically assume that), the problem is that they lack class.
- oldhick, on 09/04/2009, -3/+25Come on... These people are voters! They're probably even on digg espousing some talk radio rhetoric or Daily Show crap that they have no comprehension of. If we don't laugh we'll cry.
- inactive, on 09/05/2009, -7/+28Limousine liberals? The people who hate poor people aren't liberals. I'll tell you that much. Liberals aren't crying about the top tax brackets being taxed more (not that I mind). If you're convinced rich people are mostly liberals then that's pretty funny.
- SkylaRiot, on 09/04/2009, -2/+23wal-mart = mullet hunting
- Detritus, on 09/05/2009, -6/+27Monodelasno there are several valid reasons to boycott WalMart, at least of couple of which are in regards to their treatment of employees.
I personally don't go into them because every time I do I think I'm going to catch some damn strange disease from the filthy herd of unwashed that graze the isles. - isewise, on 09/05/2009, -2/+23Its not just Walmart. I've shopped at Target plenty of times and seen more than my fair share of terrible outfits. Perfect example, just two days ago: The weather outside is a breezy high 60's to low 70s. A 20 something year old girl is wearing a sweatshirt/hoodie, short gym/cheer shorts, and those hideous Ugg boots. She looked like she couldn't make up her mind about whether it was fall, winter or summer so she decided to wear it all and cover all bases.
- navarres, on 09/05/2009, -2/+23Its a religious symbol in the hindu religion, way before hitler ever used it. On a side note I found out that one of my second cousins is named swastika, we live in canada so I'm pretty sure she gets a lot of ***** for it
- DaDrake, on 09/05/2009, -2/+20Truthfully, the class of shoppers is going to depend on the area the Wal Mart is located in. There are many upper class counties where I live, and the people shopping at Wal Mart include the upper middle class.
The reason why we see this stereotype so much is because there is a deep loathing for Wal Mart. On one hand, this stems from the fact they have a superior business market, and have driven other businesses out. On the other hand, their strong opposition against unions have made them public enemy number one with some democrats. And with any boycott of a business, the protesters always try to create an image that only the most vile filth would shop there. - david4041, on 09/05/2009, -0/+18"Well, Hitler pretty much demonized the swastika and the Charlie Chaplin moustache."
. . . and the name Adolph. - bipolarruledout, on 09/05/2009, -0/+17They do, if even by a SMALL margin.
- superherofive, on 09/05/2009, -2/+19It's good to know there are people in the world that don't give a crap about what others think about them.
- alwilson, on 09/05/2009, -0/+16Well, Hitler pretty much demonized the swastika and the Charlie Chaplin moustache. You can't wear either of those without throwing out a negative vibe.
- inactive, on 09/05/2009, -0/+16I smell a "PA! I'm on the light box again!"
- whiteness81224, on 09/05/2009, -2/+18It's Sarah! http://imgur.com/YR20L.png
- paulmer2003, on 09/05/2009, -15/+31***** Walmart, they'll never get a cent from me.
- inactive, on 09/05/2009, -0/+15That spoiler looked more like a shelf. guy probably bartends off that at tail gates, which is the exact opposite of "uncool."
- MScrip, on 09/05/2009, -0/+15And before Wal-Mart... these people shopped at K-Mart. These are DISCOUNT stores...
- inactive, on 09/05/2009, -2/+17I'm sure they're hurting because of it.
- aserer511, on 09/05/2009, -0/+14How dumb do you have to be to wear a swastika in public? I mean, really
- TalahRama, on 09/05/2009, -8/+21Firstly, you're really defensive about this. The article specifically says that it is a slim portion of those who shop at Wal-Mart and is talking about their awful fashion choices. Because we laugh at that, you're saying that we obviously have poor self-image and are narcissistic and are mentally deficient. Wow.
Honestly, I have no problem with Wal-Mart by itself, though some of their business practices are pretty *****. But a store that sells everything for the lowest price will attract the poorest people. It's not just Wal-Mart, it's ANY store that sells things very inexpensively. Wal-Mart is just the predominate one.
Before you say anything, I don't care about somebody's financial situation. It sucks to be poor and it's not uncommon that it's not their fault. But the tendency is that poorer people have less of an education. And, yes, a lot of them are irresponsible. And, ultimately, there's a lot more poor people that will make others uncomfortable than well-off people.
I've seen an enormous woman in a powered wheelchair in McDonald's with ice cream trailing down her cheek. A guy in a ratty shirt with some sort of cyst protruding in Walgreens - he farted a lot. And all the people on public transport who treat their children like *****. There's an absolute ton of rich people who are unfortunate *****, but there's a near infinite supply of disgusting poor people.
Again, they don't suck because they're poor. They're poor because they suck. -
