- biofriendlyblog, on 11/04/2009, -2/+65What is wrong with those people?! That anyone would do something like that....much less to their own child...is sickening (to put it mildly)!
- mikemehak, on 11/04/2009, -3/+44simply chaining and beating them with wooden sticks is not enough.
This is 100x worse from a disabled boys point of view. Unaware of his full situation I can only speculate how hard it is for him to understand why the people who supposedly love him and he can trust would do such a thing.
People like this should be locked up, solitary confinement with no chance for patrol. No easy way out, no death penalty, just spend the rest of their life thinking about that one mistake. - 0bamaclintobush, on 11/04/2009, -2/+43Please chain the parents and beat them with wooden sticks.
- seltaeb4, on 11/04/2009, -0/+18Two Hmongs don't make a right.
- TheKriket, on 11/04/2009, -4/+21Life sentence. minimum.
- spatty, on 11/04/2009, -1/+18eye for an eye is the way forward
no /s - kevinsname, on 11/04/2009, -0/+14I think he meant petrol. No chance of petrol for his car because he will not be driving any where in solitary confinement.
- CaptainNoPants, on 11/04/2009, -0/+13"So the question is, what should the parents have done?"
I think a good start would have been *not* tying him up and beating him. But that's just me. - duggtodeath, on 11/04/2009, -6/+18"You know Sloth, if you sit too close to the TV, you're going hurt your eyes."
- IphtashuFitz, on 11/04/2009, -2/+11No chance for patrol?
- Akraz, on 11/04/2009, -1/+10Depressing news week on digg it seems
- ratava911, on 11/04/2009, -3/+12If anyone can think of another way to get the demons out, i'd like to hear it!
- BigSabowski, on 11/04/2009, -0/+9The family is Hmong and often, at least around that area of WI, the parents don't always possess strong English language skills because they emigrated directly from Vietnam. But that is no excuse for allegedly beating the poor guy. There are support services available to help both the family and the son..... Its really too bad.
- Alli3388, on 11/04/2009, -1/+10Not entirely unusual in China (which is what these parents are, clearly). Only recently has there been any advocacy for mentally disabled people in China; traditionally they are treated more like animals. If they aren't good for the gene pool they aren't worth much of anything, is the thinking. It's getting better now, but old habits can be hard to break I guess. :-(
- jcsoc, on 11/04/2009, -0/+9I don't see the point of using boxing gloves when you're using wooden sticks as well..
- jhbarr, on 11/04/2009, -0/+9Almost every state has a Developmental Disabilities Service department that is set up to help. It's just a damned phone call. http://dhs.wisconsin.gov/bdds/index.htm
- getoffmybridge, on 11/04/2009, -1/+9Gee, mister. You're even hungrier than I am!
- jhbarr, on 11/04/2009, -1/+9There's a special place in hell for these "parents".
- thavi, on 11/04/2009, -0/+7Mai Vang Xiong, 57, and Song Xiong, 48, 3925 Meadowwood Drive...Both parents were released from the Chippewa County Jail on $500 cash bonds.
- appleofdischord, on 11/04/2009, -1/+8Rocky roooaad?
- Rain12913, on 11/04/2009, -0/+7Probably to protect their hands.
- ItsMeEmilyG, on 11/04/2009, -0/+6Sick sadist *****. As someone born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, I find this especially humiliating and horrific.
- funnieGuy, on 11/04/2009, -0/+6Why do all the freaks seem to come from Wisconsin? Regardless of race or nationality of these people, it kinda makes me embarrassed to be from Wisconsin. Believe me, most of us around here are not like that. We are just very heavy drinkers ;0)
- Clodhopper, on 11/04/2009, -1/+7Heeeeey yooooooou guuuuuys!!!
- Alli3388, on 11/04/2009, -0/+5Uh, how about take care of him and be nice to him?? Treat him appropriately for his mental age? Get him involved in ALL the programs available for people with developmental disabilities, many of which are subsidized or free? Not to difficult. Lots of people do it. It's readily available info.
- Alli3388, on 11/04/2009, -1/+6Sloth love Chunk!
- IphtashuFitz, on 11/04/2009, -0/+5One can only hope...
And even if there isn't a special place in hell, there's always PMITA prison. - 1234brandon, on 11/04/2009, -1/+6I 2nd that.
- havok3114, on 11/04/2009, -0/+5Not Chinese, Hmong. The Hmong are originally from Laos & Cambodia and a great number of them settled in Wisconsin after the Vietnam war.
- jdames1980, on 11/04/2009, -0/+5I thought all the freaks came from Detroit, Cleveland, Florida and California.
- tgc1, on 11/04/2009, -0/+4How you can do this to your own child is ***** sickening.
- CaptCarrot, on 11/04/2009, -0/+4Developmentally disabled son. Abusive mother. Wisconsin.
Norman, is that you? - Alli3388, on 11/04/2009, -0/+3Yes, it is. I'm sure they were perfectly equipped. They just didn't feel like it. Two very different things.
- jhbarr, on 11/04/2009, -0/+3They were equipped to raise him for 21 years and I'm willing to bet they were equipped to cash his SSI checks for which he is probably eligible.
- ASSASSYN360, on 11/04/2009, -1/+4You better shut your ass up. Don't make me come down there and beat your cyclops ass. Tough love.
- Kaegro, on 11/04/2009, -2/+5As horrible the story is, the comment is a total WIN.
- MikeFromAmerica, on 11/04/2009, -1/+3According to a movie I saw, the Hmong like to be called "zipperheads" and drive Gran Torinos.
- scott1, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2Why wooden? Why not something harder like iron or steel
- Alli3388, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2And I'd like to leave my 1972 Gran Torino to my friend Thao Vang Lor. On the condition that you don't chop-top the roof like one of those beaners, don't paint any idiotic flames on it like some white trash hillbilly, and don't put a big, gay spoiler on the rear end like you see on all the other zipperheads' cars. It just looks like hell. If you can refrain from doing any of that... it's yours.
- Marx047, on 11/04/2009, -1/+3lol, Harold & Kumar - classic
- compgeek, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2What can posess somebody to act like this towards another human being especially your own son is beyond me. Makes me sick to know that there are people this twisted in the world
- bobbi21, on 11/04/2009, -0/+2So not doing something automatically means they dont have the capacity to do something? I'm not sleeping right now so that means I don't have the capacity to. I'm not beating up my grandmother right now so that means I don't have the capacity to.
Your statement makes me think you're trolling. Like was mentioned by jhbarr, and alli3388 There are SEVERAL programs for disabled children/adults. And there's always adoption. And if they're too dimwitted to make a phone call, like was said DON'T tie him up and beat him. How is that not an answer? How does beating him help the situation at all? If they really had no idea how to raise a disabled kid after 21 years at least treat him how you would treat a dog. Give him a pillow and mat to sleep on. If he's being disruptive, lock him in his room without his toys. Do NOT beat him and chain him to the wall forcing him to sleep on the floor. I wouldn't treat my hamster as badly as they treated this kid/adult. If these parents are too incapable to take care of a hamster, I doubt they'd be able to get a job and a house. So yeah they're capable of doing something better than this. They just chose not to.
And how are you not equipped to CALL FOR HELP? tons of services for that. - abhishek23, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2what kind of sick parents would do that do their own child...
- darkened, on 11/04/2009, -2/+4Apparently Captain obvious isn't a fan of pants.
- anang0, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1ripe the parents' privates off... but thats just me ;)
- beloitpiper, on 11/04/2009, -0/+1Gein, Dahmer, Analco...
- eShinn, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1What could have possibly happened in the parents' lives where they 'both' felt this act to be legitimate? I mean what were THEIR parents like? How far back does somethings have to happen for them to ultimately culminate into acts which are just so wrong?
My jaw is still on the floor. - Andrwmorph, on 11/04/2009, -1/+2Punching bags can be pretty pricy
- JDLamb88, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1I think he meant Patron, no chance to drink anything but toilet wine when you're in prison.
- Marx047, on 11/04/2009, -1/+2lol, nice
