- Hellbender712, on 07/12/2009, -3/+27I guess he zigged when he should of zagged. And so the gene pool benefits.
- Gareth321, on 07/13/2009, -0/+23That's so weird. I mean, who would have thought running in front of stampeding bulls would end in injury!?
- duggtodeath, on 07/12/2009, -0/+13Dude, these pics are gnarly.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -1/+13Yeah! I love it when I hear news like this. And also when a matador gets gored to death. The people who get off by seeing animals being tortured like this for fun are sick ***** bastards.
I hope the bull is A-OK. - ShingoEX, on 07/13/2009, -1/+10Darwin has failed, since this idiot managed to survive.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -1/+9Gored in the chest by a half-ton bull and the man is blocking is crotch with his hand as he is dragged away; priorities.
- kiingdano, on 07/13/2009, -1/+7This fool got what he had coming to him.
- 4AntiStupid, on 07/13/2009, -1/+6Everytime I read about the running of the bulls, I think of that Bill Cosby line after talking about people drinking until they puke: And this is what they do for fun
- sicsempertyrann, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5Grab life by the horn
- nikki2300dk, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4The more people getting hurt in these events the better, maybe someone will finally put a stop to it.
- 92fsInox, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4"I hope the bull is A-OK."
Um, yea, they kill and eat the bull after the run is over. It's tradition, go figure. - MikeSD34, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4Damned ziggers.
- Farmer77, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4I like to call The Running of the Bulls, The Annual Darwin Race.
- Lateralis1, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4Ohhh, so close to a Darwin award, but no cigar!
- Liability, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4
To be honest, I'd be cheering for the bulls at this archaic, barbaric event. It's on about the same level of despicable human behavior as dogfighting in my mind.
Having said that, here's a protip for the cruel and unusual: Make sure that you are carrying a loaded gun before intimidating horned animals weighing over 1,000 lbs. - mooheiferghandi, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3I'm no PETA supporter by any means and I admit I've killed my share of soft, cuddly critters for the purpose of eating them.
I do think that if these poor animals are going to be slaughtered for no other reason that the entertainment of a cheering crowd that they should be allowed every opportunity to take those cowards with them. These animals should be equipped with kevlar body armor, carbon fiber points on their horns, jetpacks and gun turrets. It's one thing to kill for the intent of use and to making sure the creature doesn't suffer, but to do this to a dumb animal who has no choice for the sake of a crowd is not right by any standard. Both the bullfighters and the crowd are guilty. - texpletive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3Answering the age-old question, "Where's the beef?"
- ketedford, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3That's one horny bull.
- splorpdotorg, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2Rat: "Hey Bull, you going to Spain for the Running of the Bulls?"
Bull: "You mean the Trampling of the Idiots."
-Pearls Before Swine - haikuFU, on 07/13/2009, -2/+4I think we should have the running of the bulls here in the US. Then, we can make them chase the vegetarians into a big machine that sorts vegetarians from bulls. The vegetarians are sorted onto a plane and dumped over the Brazilian rainforest.
The bulls are sorted and run through a machine that clubs them, and then cuts them up into tasty morsels, cooks them, and shoots them into the audience's mouths. - LinuxCobra, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2AHAHAHAHHA I laugh every year when they show those injured... nobody told them to run with bulls with horns, what did they expect would happen.
- Plurkman, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2I hope the bulls are ok.
- waydee, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2Life is cruel, get used to it.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2They don't make bulls as they used to anymore.
- nikki2300dk, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1I'm glad I wasn't. That's sickening.
- PowderedToasty, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1People are cruel, get used to it.
- chuckDontSurf, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1"Yeah, that's me, taking the bull by the horns. It's how I handle business. It's a metaphor. But it actually happened, though."
- Rudegar, on 07/13/2009, -1/+2looks a bit old for such horse play
- RealmDown, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1Take off every zig!
- PowderedToasty, on 07/13/2009, -1/+2Darwin was talking about natural selection causing evolution, not people dying when they do stupid things. I hate that ***** too, it just shows ignorance on the part of the poster, and ignorance when it comes to evolution isn't something we need more of.
- Pelapp, on 07/13/2009, -5/+6Yes, awesome pics! :)
I wish there were some where the horn penetrated him though..
Always nice to see the underdog (if you can call a 1300lb bull that) win. - Euph0rik, on 07/13/2009, -1/+2What a stupid ***** past time. You put a bunch of pissed-off, disorientated, tormented bulls in narrow, slippery cobble-stone streets to chase after a bunch of drunken humans. Oh, and then it makes HEADLINES when the stupid ***** humans get hurt. Serves 'em right I say. A little sweet revenge for that other stupid ***** human past time: bullfighting
When is Gaia finally gonna rid itself of us simple, adolescent, self-serving humans? - sladek, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1Was anyone in Moraira, Spain yesterday?
They has made a cage at the marina car park where anyone could go in and get chased, 3 walls and the 4th side was the side of the marina, they were chasing the bulls into the friggin' sea! - 92fsInox, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1Well, for one, if I had to die, I would choose whichever option let me fight back before I go. Being raised to be food, that is a pitiful life. But becoming a fighting sensation, something that can actually compete in a ring with the highest link in the food chain, that is honorable, that is a life worth living, even if it results in eventual death.
- ramiro, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1Stupid tradition.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -1/+2The stampede ends in a stadium. Guess what happens to the bulls, there. I love seeing matadors get their midget asses gored.
- MissMeagan, on 07/14/2009, -0/+0I couldn't agree more!
-M - joeyc88, on 07/13/2009, -0/+0What?! How is stabbing the bulls many many times in the body with multiple swords less cruel than sending them to the slaughter house?? If you had the choice of being stabbed multiple times and dying a slow painful death or quickly and relatively pain free, which would you choose?
- MissMeagan, on 07/14/2009, -0/+0Well..with how numb minded people are, this sounds like a hit reality show on FOX!
-M - zorrosombra, on 07/13/2009, -1/+1I ran the same day, and was just ahead of where this happened (at the end of Telefonica). That bull was a beast and was pissed. There was so much blood that even the Spaniards were freaking out.
- MissMeagan, on 07/14/2009, -0/+0Life actually isn't cruel. Life is what it is..survival of the fittest.
I'm not sure how you generalize this barbaric form of entertainment with "life"..but I suppose everyone makes up things to make it okay in their eyes.
-M - AoiTakuma, on 07/13/2009, -2/+2I really hate when people say stuff like that. As an atheist it really bothers me. Darwin did not create natural selection, he just coined the term. Yeah I understand the Darwin Awards are funny and all but dumb comments like this are annoying. Human reproduction hasn't been regulated by natural selection for thousands of years.
- yeghia, on 07/13/2009, -1/+1i think the point is not being able to spread your genetic information into the future. hence, you don't get to contribute to the sperm pool of human history. ;)
- TobiasParker, on 07/13/2009, -3/+2From all of your religious comments, i doubted you believed in genes.
- Hosalabad, on 07/13/2009, -2/+1What they tracked the bull down to weigh it afterwards?
What's that expression about messing with bulls? - sotaroca, on 07/12/2009, -4/+2please put your junk away, sir
