- spinaltap87, on 05/02/2008, -0/+20LSD is great in a controlled environment like your bedroom but jesus christ, don't use a rocket launcher during it. Unlucky lab rats.
- inactive, on 05/02/2008, -1/+12I would so be the guy climbing the tree.
- Spudster, on 05/02/2008, -3/+12I think it's important for people to know that LSD is not recognized to be dangerous physically. Physiologically, LSD causes a temporary set of side effects that go away after it has been metabolized (notably uterine contractions). One long time effect is that repeated doses can cause "tolerance" to the effects, but this tolerance is neither a sign of addiction nor does it produce physical withdrawal symptoms. It should be noted that LSD has virtually zero addiction potential, because the drug does not artificially induce happiness so that it can be used as an escape from reality (in the way Cocaine and Heroin are addictive.) There is no evidence at all to indicate that LSD causes brain damage and the lethal dose is much higher than the dose required to "trip," making LSD a relatively safe drug physically.
Additionally, there is no evidence that LSD itself is the cause of mood problems and depression. It may "trigger" mental illness in people already susceptible, but this triggering is similar to other drugs such as marijuana and is neither a big threat nor unique to LSD.
Don't believe the propaganda! - toastmonster, on 05/02/2008, -0/+8What is it with acid and tree climbing anyway?
- poptones, on 05/02/2008, -0/+7I love this one: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=22a_1174297179
- rockrapdude, on 05/02/2008, -0/+7Primal urges?
- petebert, on 05/02/2008, -0/+5the radio guy looks like he'd be the most fun to trip with
- je12u, on 05/02/2008, -1/+5While that may be true...having a bad trip is the WORST feeling ever.
- golgotha, on 05/02/2008, -1/+5are you kidding me? I remember me and buddy were making our own blotters, used too much liquid and made the doses too powerful. After a heavy trip, I noticed my friend disappeared. I found out later that he walked the streets of my town for 1 week before being taken to a mental hospital. He still isn't the same...Long term side effects of LSD include altering your very behavior, so don't go around telling kids that there aren't any side effects. You are wrong.
- toastmonster, on 05/02/2008, -0/+3poor cat, not cool - they could have found plenty of willing human subjects to take it's place
- lukeev, on 05/02/2008, -0/+3Bedroom = Bad! Fresh air and nature with responsible friends = Good!
- skateboard1, on 05/02/2008, -1/+4dude, this is not a dupe. it is vid of some early tests subjects
- depro9, on 05/02/2008, -0/+3What a great experience LSD can be if used correctly & taken only once or twice in ones lifetime. Hoffman found a special key we will never truly understand.. R.I.P old friend..
http://discovermagazine.com/2006/nov/20-things-lab ... - Appox, on 05/02/2008, -0/+3That climbing the tree line was excellent.
- the_snitch, on 05/03/2008, -0/+2you would then be the guy on the ground hurt
- Spudster, on 05/03/2008, -0/+2No, seriously, the risk of long term mental effects comes from the emotional experiences while on the drug, not the drug itself. Any emotional changes caused by the drug would be the SAME emotional changes induced after a terrifying war experience or a transcendental religious meditation. The ever so famous "flashbacks" people talk about with LSD is actually the same as a shell shock response to a tramautic event--it is not physiologically related to the drug. It's up to the user to make sure that the set and setting he is in is suitable for a trip. People need to stop perpetuating this myth that LSD ACTUALLY damages or affects the chemical makeup of your brain. There is no evidence of that and all evidence shows the drug is quickly metabolized out of your body.
- Jimmyb207, on 05/02/2008, -0/+2I agree. I thought it was pretty interesting and hilarious at the same time. Go be a control freak somewhere else.
- SirPopper, on 05/02/2008, -0/+2Soldiers with a gun in their hand and on a LS tri, what a risk.
- billyfalconer, on 05/02/2008, -0/+2I've never seen it, and was glad it was shared.
- CyberSol, on 05/02/2008, -0/+2Is this where this video came from? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgewood_Arsenal_expe ...
- inactive, on 05/02/2008, -1/+3Then what would be the purpose of the army? The army is there so we can do this mindless *****, not the other way around.
- Magicmasta, on 05/02/2008, -1/+2They're probably not loaded, however I think that a knife is even dangerous in that condition.
- inactive, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1The link doesn't post to a dupe it posts to the news of Hofmann being dead.
- billyfalconer, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1How do you know the guns were loaded?
- assassinmonkey, on 05/03/2008, -0/+1Title is inaccurate. This wasn't Hofmann's trial, it was the British governments.
- spinaltap87, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1and if you fall and break something?
- vjeko, on 05/02/2008, -7/+8This is how the army should be, not running around killing people.
- directrix13, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1Dear god how much did they give to that cat?
- RanIntoTheDevil, on 05/03/2008, -0/+1I don't get how people always think it is LSD that they gave to the while it says right in the video they are testing MESCALINE ANALOGUES. Two quite different substances. LSD is a tryptamine while Mescaline is a phenethylamine. They are not the same thing!
- dafragsta, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1I feel bad for the cat, but that was as funny as it was disturbing.
- dorianh49, on 05/02/2008, -1/+2I didn't watch it (YouTube's blocked at work) but, before reading these comments, I pictured some guy in court during a TRIAL, saying something to the bailiff like, "No thanks, I brought my own bible".
- Neemzor, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1Your sir are fail.
- nickert0n, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1Dugg for climbing a tree lol
- assassinmonkey, on 05/03/2008, -0/+1aaaaah the men on bicycles

- samuella, on 09/10/2008, -0/+0There is no evidence at all to indicate that LSD causes brain damage and the lethal dose is much higher than the dose required to "trip," making LSD a relatively safe drug physically.

- blueswannabe, on 05/02/2008, -1/+0Oh how I laughed!
- Smaugrens, on 05/02/2008, -6/+4Buried for a video having nothing to do with Hoffman except that it's related to LSD.
- Bkaufman, on 05/02/2008, -3/+1Agreed. LSD has the potential to have serious, longterm mental affects on people. There is no "type" of person who is susceptible to these kinds of affects. it can happen to someone who is using it for the first time, and while not very likely to cause these problems, I still wouldn't take the chance my self.
- warragul, on 05/02/2008, -2/+0"More well known"...
How about "Better known"? - inactive, on 05/02/2008, -4/+2It's a dupe because the video is as old as the internet. Just because Hofmann has died, doesn't mean you can search for LSD on YouTube and LiveLeak and post the first video you find.
Buried. - matschig, on 05/02/2008, -7/+4:(
