Clearly something is wrong when ***** like this end up as cops. Who in their right mind would attempt to arrest a ***** paramedic trying to save someone's life?
Most decent cops would drive on before the ambulance to clear the road ahead of traffic to make way for the ambulance!
At the very least, these cops should be fired. No suspensions and no demotions. ***** fired.
These cops should be prosecuted! - anonymousmedic, on 05/29/2009, -4/+411The official report is posted on http://connect.jems.com/ in the thread "Paramedic Attacked by Trooper", along with the statements of witnesses in PDF files. It's terrifying. The Trooper involved actually told the EMT he was going to escalate to drawing his service revolver and shooting him had he tried to help the Paramedic.
Normally I give the cops the benefit of the doubt, but this video actually made me write the Chief of the OK Highway Patrol, and the District Attourney's office in that county in protest and disgust. These copReading the report will make you even more terrified of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. I hope the EMT and Paramedic, and the family involved, sue the hell out of the department and the officer involved.
Just looking at the video, they actually broke atleast two laws in Oklahoma: Interfering with a Duely Identified EMT/Paramedic treating a patient, and assaulting a EMT/Paramedic. One's a class A misdermenor, and the other is a Class D felony. - jawdroppingjack, on 05/28/2009, -1/+372Youtube justice here we come
- ProfessorSYM, on 05/29/2009, -1/+347From the YouTube comments:
"The officer that pulled the ambulance over is Daniel Martin badge number 606 to reach his captain 918-423-3636
Call the governor of oklahoma Brad Henry 405-521-2342"
Now, you won't be talking to Governor Henry when you call that line obviously but he needs to know there is outrage about this.
Thanks to Death2theNWO777 for posting it. - jsffive, on 05/28/2009, -2/+238You will respect my authoritah!
What a jerk. - ClefPro, on 05/28/2009, -5/+229Cops never learn.......camera = justice, every time.
- CoolHandLuke70, on 05/28/2009, -0/+197Disgusting! Those cops need to be relieved of duty!
- 1beat, on 05/29/2009, -0/+192to piss you off even more :
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the paramedics assaulted the trooper just before the fight broke out.
The Okfuskee County District Attorney's Office is reviewing footage and could file criminal charges against the paramedic by the end of the week.
WTF!!
Here is the statement made by the EMT:
http://static.ktul.com/documents/emtstatement_0509 ... (PDF)
And the ambulance driver:
http://static.ktul.com/documents/franksstatement_0 ... (PDF)
Capt. Chris West said Wednesday the incident will be the focus of an internal administrative review. West did not immediately identify the troopers involved.
Sunday’s scuffle occurred on U.S. 62 near Paden in Okfuskee County after troopers and first responders in a Creek Nation ambulance argued over a close call on the road.

Looks like Oklahoma Troopers need to purge their forces and re-train the rest. - kpezzy, on 05/29/2009, -6/+190One of the scariest things in the world is a cop on a power trip, guys like this Pig think that they are genetically superior. How dare us Minions question him in any way shape or form
- JamesBondQ, on 05/29/2009, -1/+154I love the cop shouting "are you calm" as he's got his hand wrapped around the the guys neck.
Right back at you, only guys who's yelling. - NSResponder, on 05/28/2009, -9/+133" Who in their right mind would attempt to arrest a ***** paramedic trying to save someone's life? "
I hear that steroid abuse leads to hyper-aggressive behavior like this.
-jcr - SirBrittanicus, on 05/29/2009, -8/+130I'm surprised they didn't call him "Boy" in that deep, white trash twang.
***** pigs. - Briandrews15, on 05/29/2009, -0/+118I'm glad the EMT was a big guy too, most people couldn't stand there and take a straight choke while pushing off the other cops. Most people would be on the ground and the cops would have made them their bitch already.
Always carry a camera! - borez, on 05/29/2009, -1/+115Why was he pulling an ambulance over in the first place. Madness.
- acknotSW, on 05/29/2009, -1/+112Do you guys realize that we are seeing a shift in power in this world? Just 5 years ago the cops, DA, and local news could easily have kept this kind thing off the radar. Today, one click and millions are made aware that ***** like this happens rather frequently.
- jack222, on 05/29/2009, -0/+105If an EMT isn't safe from overzealous cops, then who the hell is....
- inactive, on 05/29/2009, -1/+105The best part is the EMT guy will help him no matter what.
- m3arvk, on 05/29/2009, -14/+116Stay classy Oklahoma.
- ProfessorSYM, on 05/29/2009, -1/+95Oh yeah, might not want to say "Death2theNWO777 told me to call you" when you contact them...ha ha.
- pittpat, on 05/29/2009, -1/+91That cop better hope that EMT is never called out to help him!
- inactive, on 05/29/2009, -5/+85Typical police procedure talk to the white guy and rough up and choke the black guy
- mxxz, on 05/29/2009, -3/+77Cops are not held to the same laws as regular citizens, this is why cops are *****. Cops need to be subject to same legal enforcement and punishment that regular citizens are subject to.
- mrzisme, on 05/29/2009, -6/+79I remember there was this strange kid who got picked on a lot in my high school. Never had many friends or a girlfriend. He joined the town police a few years after he graduated and is now the biggest raging ***** around. Theres a strange psychology to choosing to become a cop. Theres a suprising amount of people who are looking for an easy way to gain a power edge over the people around them, and can't wait to abuse it when the moment presents itself.
When you combine someone thats power hugry, and racist, or a homophobe, and give them a badge, amazingly awful things begin to happen. Police need to be removed from the force the moment they cross the line. Its too much power to give to someone who abuses it. - kemp34, on 05/28/2009, -1/+68That's some Twilight Zone ***** right there.
- charlie6969, on 05/29/2009, -2/+68I know one thing. I have already started teaching my 9 yr. old that not all cops are considered safe anymore.
I have taught her to stay respectful, keep her temper and be calm, but I can't teach her to trust cops anymore; because I can't trust them either. (And this is a person with NO run-ins with the law.) - ParaSwarm, on 05/29/2009, -0/+65Done. The person on the other end agreed with me, and stated that many of them in the office are hoping something is done about the cop. She seemed upset herself.
- SpykerSpeed, on 05/29/2009, -0/+61A paramedic assaulted a cop? *****.
One is twice as smart as the other. - ciaran036, on 05/29/2009, -0/+60The Stanford Prison Experiment proved that even simple things like officers wearing dark-tinted sunglasses will make them less likely to restrain from violence or to show mercy.
So I blame his sunglasses too :D ... - oiooioio, on 05/29/2009, -2/+61jerk doesn't cover it - the office is alleged to have said he was going to "pull his service revolver and use deadly force"
I think ***** or psychopath would fit lol - ParaSwarm, on 05/29/2009, -0/+58Good, that's the way it should be.
I still strongly believe Youtube (and all internet video streaming sites) are one of the greatest free-speech concepts of our day and age. - macmcraeart, on 05/29/2009, -0/+58better yet - they should each be forced into an unarmed cage match with that EMT.
- Al3x, on 05/29/2009, -1/+53This is ridiculous. Cops are walking power trips. The only thing that isn't against the police is the fact that the EMT did not have it's lights on...but after the stop they told the police they were on the way to the hospital and they could continue there...that should have been the end of it.
- NSResponder, on 05/28/2009, -5/+56The local DA has the dash cam footage from the cop car. Let's see if he does his duty and puts this perp behind bars.
-jcr - voyetra8, on 05/29/2009, -0/+48Even cops think these troopers were out of line: http://forums.officer.com/showthread.php?t=121834
- kidego365, on 05/29/2009, -6/+52Welcome to police state.
- elnerdo, on 05/29/2009, -0/+45Honestly, cops should be held to much, MUCH stricter laws than regular citizens. I feel like any and all criminal punishments should be doubled or tripled if the person guilty is a police officer.
- SuFiKeel, on 05/29/2009, -1/+46I bet you any thing the EMT's would have the decency to help him even after this .
- digichris, on 05/29/2009, -1/+46Just say "Hi my name is __________ , I'm calling from the internets."
- dublea2, on 05/29/2009, -2/+43
Where is it proper procedure to place your hand on a persons neck and attempt to strangle them? I've seen forearms, knees/shins, and wrists, but placing your hand like your going to chock the man is crossing the line. What a bunch of ignorant power hungry dicks! - SpykerSpeed, on 05/29/2009, -6/+44Nothing new. There's an officer in my area who left his cop car unlocked at a gas station, with a loaded rifle sitting in the front seat. A suicidal man came and shot himself in the head with it.
Did the cop lose his job, or his license to carry a weapon? Nah. - anonymousmedic, on 05/29/2009, -0/+36From the news report, the DA is actually considering filing charges against the Paramedic by Friday.
- MrAwesomeMan, on 05/29/2009, -3/+36I would really like to kick him in the balls too...as he's being fired.
When I'm president (2016), I will create a new department and staff it with ex-football players. Their sole purpose is to kick people in the balls, or punch them in the face, depending on the situation.
For example: Cop attacks EMT. He gets a good ball kicking.
Another example: Someone injures themselves while cutting their hedge with a lawnmower, and decides to sue the lawnmower manufacturer. That person gets a good punch in the face.
Vote for me! - TonyLocNE, on 05/29/2009, -0/+33Comment left by one of the forum's members.. I really like his first couple paragraphs... At least a couple of them realize it too...
"It saddens me more and more to see the sense of team, honor, integrity, and common decency slipping away. I'm no old fart mind you, but after 11 years working as a fire/medic in the ghetto, and now 6 months patrol experience, I see more and more out of new officers this hard charging, ***** strong, cite and arrest EVERYTHING mentality.
I generally have a great respect for troopers, but this mentality seems to effect them more than anyone. It seems everything is cut and dry, black and white with them. There is no gray area, no room for slack, you break the law, I'm pulling you over and writing as many citations as I can.
This traffic stop should have never happened. Before even reading the incident reports from the medics, I already knew what happened. I've been on the freeway in a fire truck when a cop came flying up behind me, only to whip around me 2-3 seconds later because I didn't see them to move. For those of you out there with no perspective, driving a medic and/or fire truck is a huge pain in the ***, and we are generally focused on what's in front of us (poor stopping distance, wide vehicle, narrow lands, etc), my point being, the troop is making a huge (poor) assumption that he was seen and blatently disregarded.
Lots of these videos floating around these days, lots of cops on these boards with a hard-on for arresting fellow members of public safety. New era in public safety I guess" - nwscott7, on 05/29/2009, -2/+35well in the trooper's defense...oh wait...i got nothing. those guys are absurd and shameful.
- osuivan, on 05/29/2009, -1/+31Thanks for lumping in all us Oklahoman's into the class of this OHP.
- Briandrews15, on 05/29/2009, -2/+32Did you even watch the video??? He didn't end up arrested.
- ATL, on 06/20/2009, -3/+33Paid administrative leave is a bitch, ain't it?
- harpoonhank420, on 05/29/2009, -0/+29If i called from Canada would it just be ridiculous?
- offrdbandit, on 05/29/2009, -1/+29One day when that cop needs an ambulance ride, there might just be a traffic jam preventing the ambulance from arriving at the hospital in time to save him...
That would be so tragic.
In all seriousness, pulling over an ambulance is very odd (I didn't see, hear, or read anything explaining why the ambulance was pulled over), but for certain police are not supposed to escalate situations. The patrolman repeatedly escalated the situation for whatever reason. - carbonfilament, on 05/29/2009, -1/+29your cynicism is so accurate it makes me sad.
