- neuens07, on 05/05/2008, -8/+332He's mowing to look productive. If he didn't he would get voted off the island.
- wavesmachine, on 05/05/2008, -23/+306That's not a flood it's a mote.
- obliviousfool, on 05/05/2008, -6/+268moat.
- knucklebusted, on 05/05/2008, -10/+180Motivational poster material: Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done!
- idavidtang, on 05/05/2008, -5/+159He has one of those shadowless lawnmowers.
- fitqueenb, on 05/05/2008, -4/+139That is one hilarious picture.... Hope someone blows it up and frames it for him.
- Ockniel, on 05/05/2008, -5/+130Look at how realistic that water is!!! Puts crysis to shame!!
- stilesja, on 05/05/2008, -1/+100Probably just trying to keep the neighborhood association off his ass....

http://www.thetelegraph.com/sections/article/galle ... - inactive, on 05/05/2008, -3/+65I don't know how you managed to make a political comment about a picture of a guy mowing his yard but you did, congrats.
- youngcheesey, on 06/29/2009, -11/+66Reminds me of a story I heard on the radio. There was a flood in a fairly small town while Jeff was visiting. He had to climb a roof to get away from the flood, which happened to be occupied by the homeowners wife. The two just sat there and made small talk while they watched the debris float by. There was a hat floating by that was that had a peculiar rhythm to it. It would go from all the way left of where the yard was supposed to end, and then go all the way to the right. Jeff brought it up to the Wife's attention, and she replied, "Oh, that's just Mike. He had been putting off mowing the lawn for a good coupla' weeks. He finally said yesterday, 'Come hell or high water, I'm mowing that lawn!'."
- wickensworth, on 05/05/2008, -6/+59Are we sure he's actually mowing? Maybe he's just retrieving the mower from where he accidentally left it during the flooding.
- ichbeineinrcg, on 05/05/2008, -15/+67He's focused on superficial appearances that will do nothing to alleviate the real problem, and he's burning gas while he does it. Definitely a GOP member.
- Crossmenjeff, on 05/05/2008, -3/+52Who left the sprinkler on?
- ichbeineinrcg, on 05/05/2008, -4/+51I think he just sees a really efficient way to get rid of the grass clippings.
- amanilaenvelope, on 05/05/2008, -6/+50wow look at him, hes still aiming for the best lawn on the block.
- drake77, on 05/05/2008, -3/+45I want this guy as my neighbor...well, minus the whole flood thing of course.

- Arkz, on 05/05/2008, -12/+51notice how theres no shadow for the lawnmower? ;)
Adobe® - inactive, on 05/05/2008, -3/+42Let's hope he doesn't overmow as bad as he overwatered.
- sjbdallas, on 05/05/2008, -3/+40I think he just wants his lawn to look nice on tv.
- desuexmachina, on 05/05/2008, -4/+41That is a remarkably ugly house. Although, I do like how he colour co-ordinated the siding with the flood water.
- datagod, on 05/05/2008, -17/+53I think it is a fake. How come the lawnmower has no shadow?
- carterbaldwin, on 05/05/2008, -3/+38mowte
- Yakovzoya, on 05/05/2008, -1/+34I thought the first comment was kind of funny, but now you're just trying too hard.

- Ockniel, on 05/05/2008, -6/+35mought
- SolitarySoviet, on 05/05/2008, -7/+35so heres a thought for you... lets just estimate that man is 6 foot tall.... yet his shadow is very very short... and the house is very tall (say 40-50 feet) yet its shadow is very short too... now we come to the lawn mower which IS ON THE GROUND and only about 1.5 feet tall.... see where Im going with this??? maybe JUST MAYBE there is a shadow there but its cast on the lower part of the mower itself (round circular cover above blade) so you are having trouble seeing it with your obviously super human eyes and YOU DONT KNOW ***** ABOUT ANYTHING....
I bet if a piece of paper were lying flat on the ground at High noon you would still bitch about it being shopped due to no shadow... so PLEASE shut the ***** up already and realize you should leave the thinking to people capable of such a feat.... - badassninja, on 05/05/2008, -0/+28That one burnt down, fell over and then sank into the swamp!
- AlphaPrime, on 05/05/2008, -1/+29Every man wants his own island, but I'll bet he didn't think he would find it in suburbia.
- SignificantMind, on 05/05/2008, -1/+28best lawn on the island.*
- JDoorjam, on 05/05/2008, -1/+28Mote is also a legitimate word, so he's not a Spelling Nazi; he's a Wrong-Word Stalinist.

- snareguy17, on 05/05/2008, -1/+23Well that was quick.
- eir574, on 05/05/2008, -3/+25He also managed to use this discussion to make a comment about liberal women's legs and armpits. Clearly, he's skilled.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -9/+31Indeed. Quite an obvious photoshop. So obvious, in fact, that you've earned the rank of Captain.
- EpicSelekta, on 05/05/2008, -1/+22That's no moat, it's a space station!

- Coolmatt49, on 05/05/2008, -1/+19moaned
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 05/05/2008, -3/+20What? The house has a very small shadow. It's close to mid-day, and the mower is a very low profile item. How would it show up in the picture?
Also, that probably is quite a bit of sand under the water. That's what happens in a flood. - JoshuaH, on 05/05/2008, -0/+16Still won't stop the Mormons on bikes.
- tientruong, on 05/05/2008, -3/+19did you even look at the pixels?

- sab0tage, on 05/05/2008, -2/+18Well played.
- pyrotix, on 05/05/2008, -0/+16There was an obscure independent film named "Star Wars" released in 1977 by indy filmmaker George Lucas. The comment is a reference to the film.
