- Flappy3, on 12/06/2007, -6/+138Digg needs a Taser section.
- mrfreeziexp, on 12/06/2007, -2/+63That'll teach her to not be ... handicapped.
- Monsis, on 12/06/2007, -2/+48Dugg for them admitting they were at fault to begin with. Too often these stories leave you wondering what else happened that's not being told.
- ettin, on 12/06/2007, -6/+34Yes, but when it happens in a hospital its called shock therapy.
You see? Cops are just giving us therapy, thats all. - Knikes, on 12/06/2007, -4/+29"As she recalls the events of March 21, 2005"
I agree the event is tragic and another example of incompetent individuals, but to say "this needs to stop" to something that happened 2 years ago.....
I was given the impression that it was a recent incident at first glance. - kedohmen, on 12/06/2007, -14/+34Are we sure she is mentally handicapped, I'm thinking she's just Southern.....
- Technoloki, on 12/06/2007, -3/+19Time to take their Taser toys away from them.
- Adamande, on 12/06/2007, -2/+18I'm getting so sick of reading all the fascist taser-stories on Digg. Pregnant woman trying to give up her kid to authorities, tased. Man wanting to discuss a traffic sign, tased. Man not getting insurance papers out fast enough, tased. Student asking John Kerry questions, tased. Student using a library pc longer than allowed to, tased. Blind man fresh out of bathtub, tased. And now, handicapped girl in her own yard, tased. None of them dangerous criminals. All of them treated as such. Quite a few reported deaths by tasers as well. Police in the US seem to be completely out of control. How anyone can feel safe with these goons running around is beyond me. Tasers should be outlawed and cops shouldn't be running around acting like the SS. Why are citizens taking this abuse?
- threepio, on 12/06/2007, -1/+16Come to think of it, a taser would be incredibly useful in Assassin's Creed.
- meells, on 12/06/2007, -3/+14Kudos to the officer who crossed the thin blue line and made the truth come out..it needs to happen more often. And as a side note, if someone had lied to the police during the investigation, they would have been charged with obstruction. Wheres the equality there when the police officer himself did it?
- akatherder, on 12/06/2007, -0/+9It's called the front page.
- Pake, on 12/06/2007, -1/+9The use of tasers is fine in many cases. Sure, this is excessive force, but before anyone goes on about how evil all police are, read the story. There are lots of good police officers out there and many of them are willing to do whats right, even when that means turning in your fellow officer for misconduct. It's just a shame the few bad ones spoil the reputation of the good ones.
- dailyapplecrisp, on 12/06/2007, -0/+7what ever happened to the nightstick?
- meells, on 12/06/2007, -1/+8If someone had said 'this needs to stop' way back then, maybe things wouldnt be the mess they are now. Better late than never to get the info out there.
- sedo1800, on 12/06/2007, -3/+10its a video from 2005??
- macdude22, on 12/06/2007, -0/+7Because citizens don't want to be tazed?
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -8/+14Anybody find it kind of messed up that the retarded girl has a kid?
- marmanukem, on 12/06/2007, -0/+6Good that the ***** resigned too. This is the sort of thing that should happen when excessive force is used.
- meells, on 12/06/2007, -1/+7They didnt tase the driver, they tased her handicapped daughter who ran out to see what was happening...did you read the story completely? Now you just look like an idiot for being sarcastic.
- juniorb, on 12/06/2007, -0/+6If you cannot subdue a physical altercation without resorting to electrocution or bullets, you don't deserve to protect my family. We should be demanding more than this from our police officers.
- GoneFishing, on 12/06/2007, -0/+6Maybe the tape just made it out to the public??? Freedom of Information Act isn't really next-day FedEx.
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -0/+5Well the title does say mentally handicapped.
- latrosicarius, on 12/06/2007, -4/+9You're name contains the words "Red Neck" and you have a confederate flag as your avatar, yet you mistook the mother's southern accent as retardation?
*sigh* - gritta, on 12/06/2007, -1/+6Digg needs a whole category for taser incidents.
- juniorb, on 12/06/2007, -1/+6Dugg up because you and Flappy3 had the same thought but s/he's got +47 and you have -10. What's with that?
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 12/06/2007, -0/+5> "is it me or are so many people getting tasered lately?"
This particular event happened 2 years ago. "Exposing" supposedly unwarranted taserings is apparently Digg's new crusade-du-jour. People are getting so fanatical about it, they have to dredge up stuff that happened years ago.
*That*, too, needs to stop... - naterpoke, on 12/06/2007, -0/+5I WAS PRAYING THERE WOULD BE A VIDEO
edit: wow what a disappointment - juniorb, on 12/06/2007, -0/+5Copy & Paste. I'm saving that.
Your tally should give anyone with empathy shivers. - andycr512, on 12/06/2007, -0/+4I have an idea. Every time a cop tasers somebody wrongfully and obviously negligently, they get tasered themselves as part of their debriefing.
- Whackly, on 12/06/2007, -0/+4Wow. Ashley's daddy's a dude I want to see.
- latrosicarius, on 12/06/2007, -3/+7Uhh, I'd rather have a "cops doing their usual faggotry" section.
- JHattendorfII, on 12/06/2007, -0/+4one minute late
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -2/+5Omega
- themoosejuice, on 12/06/2007, -1/+4This could be a whole new line of tshirts:
DONT TASE ME BRO, I'M RETARDED.
DONT TASE ME BRO, I'M 5 YEARS OLD
DONT TASE ME BRO, I'M A POLITITAIN
DONT TASE ME BRO, I'M 97 YEARS OLD
DONT TASE ME BRO, I HAVE A PACE MAKER
DONT TASE ME BRO, I'M SLEEPING - djh816, on 12/06/2007, -2/+5I second that.
- jcarrion1976, on 12/06/2007, -1/+4But how else would the pussy thugs feel like men?
- bitspace, on 12/06/2007, -2/+5Silly. Read up on ECT first.
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -0/+3Don't go starting a "ALPHA!!!!!!!!!!" trend to replace those annoying "first" posts...
- MasterPain, on 12/06/2007, -1/+4People like you are the ones who got a retarded girl pregnant in the first place because no normal girl would sleep with you.
- compgeek, on 12/06/2007, -2/+5tasers are a form of torture period sorry but even if non lethal 50K+ volts no matter how low the amperage will hurt like a mofo
dugg in support of them ass ***** the police in court - juniorb, on 12/06/2007, -2/+5"Tasers have been safely in use for years," should read "Taser misuse has gone unnoticed for years," but what do I know.
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -0/+3Did you miss the "mentally handicapped part?
- inactive, on 12/06/2007, -1/+4Every time I get on Digg I see another story of a person being wrongfully tasered.
- dezman2003, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2Yeah the police should subdue people with hugs and kisses
- dinostabOMG, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2It happens often enough that there are no shortage of these incidents on digg. It's not acceptable and we're in the right to be outraged about it. The end.
- dinostabOMG, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2To be fair, one cop reported the other for misusing the taser - but the other one should not only be fired but prosecuted.
- dezman2003, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2I'd take it a step farther and let the victim taser them
- DogBotherer, on 12/06/2007, -0/+2Politicians...what we need is a few politicians tased...
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -1/+3"***** the RIAA!" -> "***** GameSpot!" -> "***** the Police!"
