- bigdnl, on 06/29/2009, -3/+19Politicians know how to party.
- soley, on 06/29/2009, -1/+16Poor Flint. This may actually be really good for them. They need something like this.
- MooseOfReason, on 06/29/2009, -3/+16So easy, even a caveman could do it.
- dudestuff, on 06/29/2009, -5/+15marilize legaljuana.
- Sagags, on 06/29/2009, -3/+11just legalize the crap already, and tax it.
Is there any good reason not to? I mean it will lower crime as drug dealers will have one less thing to sell, we will spend less tax dollars trying to stop people from using it, and it will generate new jobs and taxes!
I don't even smoke Marijuana, and probably wont if it was legal, and I really want it legalized! - MooseOfReason, on 06/29/2009, -4/+11Unlike the automobile industry, I think this could actually be successful.
A Henry Ford for the 21st century. You can have any pot you like, so long as it's green. - MooseOfReason, on 06/29/2009, -2/+9Well, you have to start somewhere. Better there than where marijuana is just plain illegal.
- mrcoldcow, on 06/29/2009, -3/+8There's a joke here containing the words flint and marijuana, but I can't put it together.
- LordVance, on 06/29/2009, -1/+5Mr Mayor: Alright guys, I'm going to bed. Nobody sneak a plant from that giant field of marijuana while I'm gone!
tmyprod: Yoink!
Mission Accomplished.
(But seriously, you have to imagine that any town that is the hub of marijuana growth in their area will likely be pretty relaxed about casual smoking in citizens own homes. He *has* to say that he doesn't want people smoking it or he'll have no chance in hell of getting elected.) - tmyprod, on 06/29/2009, -5/+8I know where I'm moving.
- vault, on 06/29/2009, -1/+3same, but it's not worth the effort
- AriaNoelle, on 06/29/2009, -1/+3I don't see any objection to this. Cigarettes are so damned much worse than pot and is legal. Plus marijuana is good for so many things, from pain relief and relaxation to strong, durable fabric and paper. Not to mention it makes jobs, and the sale of the pot would generate taxes.
Oh, wait, that's right. This is America, where we are so free we can't even choose to smoke a joint on a Saturday night, but can put cancer-causing chemicals into out bodies by the carton. - breakaway, on 06/29/2009, -10/+12I was way too baked to read that article, I can't stop laughing ahahahah
- catestarrr, on 06/29/2009, -1/+3but he doesn't want everyone smoking it? business is business - legalize and you have more customers. Republicans; want to save your party? Back your supposed love of no government interference and re-legalize this!
- tgc1, on 06/29/2009, -1/+3Now there's a green movement I can get behind.
- Pseudorious, on 06/29/2009, -1/+3Well, it's not like it can hurt employment in a city without any.
- TheMidnighter, on 08/11/2009, -0/+2They sure do! They just don't want to share the sense of security with the rest of the world by legalizing it!
- Paranor01, on 06/29/2009, -3/+5Sorry, but if you were really stoned, then you wouldn't have written that. Your empathy in the comment just is not there.
I for one, do not believe your comment is the truth behind what you feel. - Elsewhere42, on 06/29/2009, -1/+3Don't use drugs! Grow a plant and use that!
- Sagags, on 06/29/2009, -2/+4I'm pretty sure the marijuana industry is ill the billions of dollars, and thats all over a illegal substance, It think it will make some impact if it went under. I live in a pretty bad neighborhood and almost all the dealers I knew in highschool were pot dealers, only the hardcore gang bangers dealt more hardcore drugs.
- hellbent187, on 06/30/2009, -0/+1I hope pot never becomes legal in this country. After seeing what happened to tobacco I don't think I could afford to continue smoking weed if it became a legal, taxable product. Keep it illegal and tax free please.
- jshhmr, on 06/29/2009, -0/+1Just watch Conan on Monday night. I'm sure his writers are on top of it!
- nj10ii, on 06/29/2009, -1/+2California is the place that the national medical MJ growing operations should be based on. The emerald triangle produces some of the best MJ in the country already.
Its really an idea thats time will eventually come, it cant continue as a mom & pop operation to supply the demand when it comes. - SeanyMac, on 06/29/2009, -0/+1You sure you want to move to Flint, Michigan?
http://www.morganquitno.com/cit06pop.htm - Ineedanap, on 06/29/2009, -1/+2Apparently you have never been to Flint. He should have lots of support.
- Sagags, on 06/29/2009, -5/+6WITH THIS NEW REVOLUTIONARY PRODUCT YOU CAN MAKE JOKES FROM NOT FIVE, NOT FOUR, AND NOT THREE WORDS, BUT ONLY TWO!!
- shrudheuie, on 06/29/2009, -1/+2It has to start somewhere. Personally, I think legalizing hemp production would be a far more lucrative move for the country. ***** corn. It's really good for making things that make us fat. Hemp is where its at.
- bipolarruledout, on 06/29/2009, -1/+2I'm wondering if their less progressively minded population is desperate enough to actually support this.
- bipolarruledout, on 06/29/2009, -1/+2I think most of us get the reference. It's the analogy that might not have been very fitting.
- gnixon70, on 06/29/2009, -0/+1Way to much analysis in that comment
- Lisztman, on 06/29/2009, -2/+3Most of Flint's terrain is horribly polluted from all the manufacturing facilities that used to reside there; and the Flint river is an absolutely unacceptable source of potable water.
If they actually decided to grow marijuana in Flint, I would go out of my way to avoid anything grown there. Who knows what sort of toxins could be picked up by those plants. - xscraped, on 06/29/2009, -2/+3its pathetic to see these digg rallies behind any candidate that has anything positive to say about marijuana. "i'm moving to massachusetts!", "ron paul 2012!", "schwarzenegger!" who gives a ***** if these people have a brain? or if they are qualified to hold public office? as long as they satisfy the great stoner hope.
***** retards - Xplorer, on 06/29/2009, -0/+1The 28th has passed....
- Paranor01, on 06/29/2009, -2/+3Think you kinda missed the reference. Henry Ford was quoted as saying "The Model T comes in any color... just so long as it's Black"
A Cannibus re-write for you :) - MacParrot, on 06/29/2009, -3/+3Juanamar lizelegal
- Paranor01, on 06/29/2009, -3/+3LOL, Proletarian has zero chance of helping the cause, he can say whatever he wants.
- darrellcskinner, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1Right, because they just didn't become the most recent state to legalize medical marijuana or anything... also, kudos to Paranor, Mr. Orwell would be proud.
- EffZee, on 06/29/2009, -2/+2Weed farmers in the States were getting beheaded? Wow, they were doing it wrong.
- darrellcskinner, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1*was
- Ineedanap, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1Ah yes, but------ The feds are not actively working to crush states with legal medical MJ Laws.
Yes, this might cause issues, but would be a good "in your face Fed's" kind of move in a state with legal Medical Laws.
After reading the actual MI law regarding Medical MJ, however, I am not sure that this approach is possible within the current context of the law as written. - darrellcskinner, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1other than the fact that the car industry started there? oh that will ferrel movie... *sigh*
- Paranor01, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1Cannibus for recreational is fine with me, and I use it for recreation.
I also use it medicinally, and am much better for it.
Like I said earlier, I just didn't feel the love in that comment... it was 'flat'.
I was stoned at the time and should have felt it, but I just didn't. - shandy28, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1Lets get tropical!
- deylux, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1Who says they will plant them in the ground? Or even better, not in dirt at all?
- factory81, on 06/29/2009, -2/+2lol. just what flint needs, more drugs. JK, they need some jobs. Too bad the write in candidate won't get anywhere. But his very pro-marijuana stance, and the amount of votes he receives can show what kind of support there is for legalizing it...and making an industry out of it. Michigan has areas with 22% unemployment rate, and 10-12% is the norm. Without arguing over unemployment numbers, Michigan is looking to anyone for some jobs. They keep talking about them "green jobs".....well this could be what they are talking about.
- Ineedanap, on 06/29/2009, -1/+1You better not fill any more prescriptions, especially for pain medication.
- deylux, on 06/29/2009, -1/+0Uh, fail... the guy above beat you too.. =|
- TimtheTaxMan, on 06/29/2009, -2/+1It’s still illegal at the federal level and last I checked, federal govt > state and local govt .
