Wow this sounds awesome - Carsonauto, on 07/15/2009, -2/+151Seems like you've answered your own question, haven't you.
- jwolcott, on 07/15/2009, -3/+147"and there's no plan to go bush again anytime soon."
His girlfriend just left him. - JasonA77, on 07/15/2009, -18/+134cool.
- veriix, on 07/15/2009, -2/+93"She was exactly like a dog. She was a very good friend for me but I didn't talk to her like (Tom Hanks) talked to the volleyball in the movie Castaway."
Yeah right...liar. - BugMeNot2, on 07/15/2009, -5/+88Anal.
- iam138, on 07/15/2009, -5/+86That'll do pig.
- Rizak, on 07/15/2009, -50/+122Kinda lost the cool factor when I read he did it on purpose...
- wontstoptalking, on 07/15/2009, -1/+72I honestly thought the story would be about a man surviving on bacon for 300 days.
- DirtPile, on 07/15/2009, -0/+71WOULD LAUGH AGAIN A+++++
- uglyteradon, on 07/15/2009, -3/+70"That was very hard, without my family, my girlfriend, my friends. There was a lot of loneliness."

- Hero0fTime, on 07/15/2009, -3/+69I see you've played knifey piggy before
- FXNGLAS, on 07/15/2009, -7/+64You're kidding right? What if you did it and then some professional survivalist on Digg said it lost the cool factor because you wanted to test yourself?
- Sideshowslob, on 07/15/2009, -2/+59He's going the eat the internets.
- JingleHymrShmit, on 07/15/2009, -2/+58I bet he ate the piglet's mother and out of pity spared his life and made him his friend
- hallo2u, on 07/15/2009, -6/+61best comment i've read in quite a while ^^
i lol'd (really) - appleseed1234, on 07/15/2009, -0/+54Supposedly as recently as the past decade Philipino's have caught men in rags in their backyards, had vegetables stolen, and left out plates of food for japs who were too resilient to surrender, but not brave enough to kill themselves.
- SilverBack101, on 07/15/2009, -2/+55Don't tell me you're going to befriend the pizza and eat the cat!? D:
- MasterGrief, on 07/15/2009, -0/+52On a related note, there was a Japanese soldier who took twenty nine years to surrender after landing in the Philippines in 1944. There may be people who lasted longer, but though I wouldn't entirely doubt it, it seems a bit unlikely that they made it as late as the last decade.

- Petestreet, on 07/15/2009, -1/+43I spent 10 weeks this year on a remote island and it was hard. It was an hour dirt bike ride to the nearest store. But this guy really impresses me. I'm serious when I say my situation was difficult, but I could buy food and had a hut to live in. This guy is braver than me.
When he got back, I bet he took a long hot shower and really appreciated a soft bed. - goobly, on 07/15/2009, -1/+43What a badass. This guy lived the dream of many, many people.
- PeanutCheeseBar, on 07/15/2009, -6/+47I wish I could digg you twice.
- gonefishin300, on 07/15/2009, -3/+43My name is Voit, dumbass.
- mulletman13, on 07/15/2009, -12/+51He took a video camera for a documentary.... unless he had a solar charger, or built his own crank charger-- how the hell did he expect that would work out for him?
- uglyteradon, on 07/15/2009, -3/+42So did he marry that pig? I mean because it's not bestiality if he puts a ring on that hoof!
- pegothejerk, on 07/15/2009, -2/+40sounds like an excuse to me!
- UnFriendlyFire, on 07/15/2009, -3/+41Banjo music.
- adventureindia, on 07/15/2009, -3/+38It requires for a real dare...it shows that you just need to have a desire to live and you can make it happen in any worst condition...
- akaakc, on 07/15/2009, -1/+35My favorite line of the article, as well. I would like to read the journal he kept while on the island, if he did. If I had to guess, that may be one of the coolest books to read.
I'd love to experience that myself. However, 300 days is a long time. - ThanatosST, on 07/15/2009, -2/+34Make a good knife, for one.
- jessy1984, on 07/15/2009, -5/+36really a daring task
- ladysherwood, on 07/15/2009, -5/+34http://instantrimshot.com/
sounds like Rodney Dangerfield reincarnated. - bearzly, on 07/15/2009, -1/+29WAAALLLLTTTT!!!!
- nepidae, on 07/15/2009, -4/+31Men survive years alone with a pig, so its not too surprising someone lasted 300 days.
- anexanhume, on 07/15/2009, -3/+28FTA:
"His luggage consisted of just a Swiss army knife, machete and a video camera to record his adventure for a documentary to be aired later this year."
Just plugged it into the power strip the volcano was using, eh? - shoyurx, on 07/15/2009, -0/+24It's not cheating, because it's your pig.
