- greenbox, on 10/12/2007, -10/+97i don't care if this is real or not. it made me laugh and that's what counts.
- flernk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+143Fake. It's a commercial for Specialized bikes.
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -29/+205***** STOLE MY BIKE!
- Zopmaz, on 10/12/2007, -43/+11It is fake. It is a commercial.

How hollow is the frame?
...
...How much white powdery substance could I hide inside the bike? - xxrazor, on 10/12/2007, -18/+4rofl now think of it if he was a truck bomber
wait, did i say truck?
i meant bike - GOJOE, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10I agree, regardless if it is fae or not, it made me chuckle. The ending was awesome as well!
- rompom7, on 10/12/2007, -14/+3kodek: cross pollination of digg and ytmnd.
- rm999, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1greenbox
I understand what you're saying, but I care if it's real or not so I know if it's funny or awesome (ie. fake or real).
My bet is fake - davidod87, on 10/12/2007, -13/+16I love seeing the cops lose.
- maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3hey, drivers act as stupid around police w/their lights on in commercials as they do in real life!
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Cool commercial. The fastest speed ever achieved on a bike was 157 mph in 1980-something. Snapple fun fact.
- mcottier, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5Man, why does everything have to be fake? If it is fake, please put FAKE in the title or something.
- pdonline, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4lmao that's awesome
- EochaidRiata, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27It is a commercial: http://www.boardsmag.com/screeningroom/commercials/3174/
- settsu, on 10/12/2007, -32/+7I like bikes. I even like Specialized bikes.
But this is stupid. I would've even "enjoyed" it if it was presented as a commercial.
But to hype it up like, "OMG, this is amazing actual true video! Look, there's a news channel thing on there, so it must be real!!!" is just dumb.
...if you believe this, well, Bill Gates wants to send you $243...- Klisk, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15Really?! I better go ask Gates for my money...
- DDoSAttack, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Nowhere does the submitter imply that OMG THIS IS REAL!!!!
They simply imply that this is a neat video... which it is, especially the end!
- xdefconx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9That's an ad for Specialized Bikes. It's called "Outlaw in Lycra"
Here's a link to the official original witha few other videos:

- ParanoiaAgent, on 10/12/2007, -7/+21It's from an anti-drug commercial about meth.
- ubermonk, on 10/12/2007, -9/+35It's from a pro-drug commercial about meth.
- rudolphdude, on 10/12/2007, -3/+41you are both right!
- kasted, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4funny how the cops crashed
- supermodel23, on 10/12/2007, -23/+0that is some BUUUULLLLLLLLL-SH*T!
- Lorian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I think the negative diggs on your comment speaks for itself.
- izzie2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4It's just like those powerade commercials but I distinctly remember people thinking those were real at first.
The first thing that came to my mind was the phrase "drive it like you stold it". - SlappyMc, on 10/12/2007, -22/+3I Think this has been photoshopped.
- pixelmixer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7er... i doubt they photoshopped it... that would have taken too long. But they did obviously use some video effects software to do it. My first impression would be After Effects.
- alphalux, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10You don't want to get mixed up with a guy like me. I'm a loner Dottie....a rebel.
- otatop, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Why is this getting buried? Does no one love Pee-wee Herman?
- JackHallows, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I did about 10 years ago, don't know if that counts.
- lowerlogic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5The driver of the truck was pretty stupid. What was he trying to do, kill the biker or stop the cops?
- aplusbi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9It's pretty clear to me that the cop car that crashes into the truck was actually the get away car. The real cops probably radioed the truck drivers and asked them to box in the criminals.
When specialized made that commercial, they took that stock cop car chase footage, edited in a bike and made the get away car look like a cop car.
- aplusbi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9It's pretty clear to me that the cop car that crashes into the truck was actually the get away car. The real cops probably radioed the truck drivers and asked them to box in the criminals.
- up2l8, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4Jesus people, this is so fake. HTF does something like this crap get front page?!
- AlwaysDuggDown, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2Because this is Digg. A popularity contest, not to be taken seriously. Everyone knows you don't turn over editorial control to a bunch of pierced libbo teenagers
- FocusPoint, on 10/12/2007, -9/+0We're suckers, every one. I really hate it when people even try to pass this off for a second as real in any degree at all... it's just about 100 percent computer made.
- Methodius, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@DuggDown
You were sort of right, until you started spewing hate there at the end. For the record, I am neither pierced, nor am I liberal, nor am I a teen. But Digg is just what you said: a popularity contest. It measures news that is actually popular amongst its readership, hence the most popular news hits the front page. Instead of showing shock/umbrage that a certain piece hit the front page, you should make a mental note under "topics of interest to Digg users."
And if you'll notice, almost every single poster here stated that they knew it was fake.
- TrevorBradley, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Of course he outran a cop on a bike. Ever play GTA San Andreas? ;)
- sakuraz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2But Dave Chapelle couldn't :O
- Scagli3tti, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Well, it'd be possible if it was a Superbike like in Edward Packard's book XD

- aplusbi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Sam Whittingham has reached 82 mph on a bicycle on flat ground with no wind and no drafting. No need for a "superbike" (although his bike is pretty super...).
- Hellomoto, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3commercial or not, I hate the cops n im glad he got away, it gives hope for all others
- therealduckie, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6if you believe this is real, I have a bridge in New York to sell you--
nah, nevermind...let me just crack you across the mouth for stupidity.- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Exactly. I can't believe some people even remotely think this is real.
- JustAGamer, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1I loved it fake or not it's great!! i just like the cop car smashing into the trucker.
- breakbeat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Reminds me of those powerade commercials.
- NatsuMatto, on 10/12/2007, -9/+7how immature do you have to be to post how you "hate the cops"?
- night141, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Doesn't matter. Cop-hate=insta digg. 95% of Digg users are armchair rebels.
- dhuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how mature do you have to be to speak against institutions like the LAPD?
- yedigg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5This was a REAL pursuit, I saw in the news a while ago. The only difference is that there was no bike, and the first police car was the one trying to outrun the police....and of course it was not painted as a police car.
- harris2004, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1omg..dumb cops..
- cyberghost232, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1It doesnt matter if its fake or not that dude was halling ass.
- tOpvillyn, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Fake as a peg leg on Rocky Balboa.
- Bartboy919, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Rock on biker dude!
- antipower187, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1i was tryin to figure out how he was goin so fast. kept think to myself, "is he goin downhill"?
cool none the less. I liked it :D - green1152, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was just thinking about that the other day. I wonder if a biker has broke the speed limit to the point where they got pulled over. Good times. Road bikes are great.
- moovitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Happened to me actually, I was going too fast in a school zone. (road bikes ftw)
The guy was nice though, ended up just giving me a warning after yapping for a bit.

- capitalfellow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Stratford Road & Silas Creek Parkway both mentioned in the video are in Winston-Salem, NC.
- easy4lif, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the police chase part is real. its from a chase that happened a couple years back here in Los Angeles. I remember because that last part where the "Cop car" gets pinned by the semi. the "cop car" was really the car the police were chasing and it got pinned by the semi truck driver who was listening on his radio and decided to stop him. the guy running from the police hit the fuel tank of semi and gasoline leaked all over the freeway shutting it down for several hours.
needless to say, several motorist on socals freeways were really pissed that day - rootneg2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hell yeha! so what if it's a fake; even in fiction it's nice to see the cops get some payback for mistreating us cyclists.
is he supposed to be skitching off the cop car in the beginning? i've always wanted to do that!- illc0mm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cops mistreating cyclists? I don't know about you, but where I'm from if the "cops" didn't protect the cyclists it would be open season on them from regular drivers. We had one guy plow into about 10 bikes once, pretty nasty. Luckily no one was killed.
There was also this cyclist I noticed every day on the way to work, while it annoyed me to no end I didn't honk or say anything because she had a right to ride her bike, it was just the way she did it. On the busiest road and she took up an entire lane. In any event others would yell at her and throw things. I remember several times where the police responded to her aid.
The next thing I'm going to hear is "George Bush hates Cyclists" Kanye. :) - rootneg2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@illc0mm
Where are you from? I'm moving there!
sadly the few times i've had to interact with a cop on my bike were rather dissapointing. Stupid tickets for "disobeying pedestrian laws" from some officers and "disobeying vehicle laws" from others. "Not being in control of vehicle" while biking at a reasonable speed simply because I had taken my hands off the handlebars for a break on the wrists. etc.
The one time the cops could have helped me, they refused to even file a report. The car pulled out of a driveway before i could stop; bent my from tire out of true and knocked my handlebars out of alignment. But since "nobody required medical attention" and "no monetary property damage" resulted (i fixed it myself) they refused to file a report or even issue a warning to the motorist.
And thank you for letting the cyclist be. Often times we have to take up the lane because biking on the shoulders leads to cars passing dangerously close, and by some state laws can actually lead to a ticket for the cyclist (we are vehicles of the road, just like cars, motorcycles, and mopeds). And bless the cops who came to her aid.

***** stupid. - DiggerT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1he may have got away from the cars but how will he get away from the chooper?
- nepawoods, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why conclude he was going fast? Were the cops trying to overtake him and run him down? Probably not.
- bmarko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lame

lame. - gd007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1who was drunk?
- rtbenson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://cdn.specialized.com/bc/microsite/movies/
- Nerys, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Actually it would not be all that hard for a cyclist to outrun police. all they have to do is go someplace the cops can't and don't get mired up in anything.
The helicopter is easy too they are soo small that "vanishing" in one place and popping out another would not be very hard and would easily fool the ones in the chopper if it was planned out right. Imagine a jogging suit ridding away you vanish under a bridge strip the sweats to reveal a nice buisness suit and you walk away with a bunch of other regular folks. they would never know. even if they stopped your group how would they know "your" the one ?
:-) - kakifry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this should be flagged inaccurate - waste of time
- trev0006, on 03/10/2008, -0/+1That was awesome, fake or not that was funny. http://www.dpccars.com/motorcycle/motorcycle-video ...
