- Nintendesert, on 07/16/2009, -2/+75I don't give a ***** what they're honking for. It's annoying as *****.
- Eadwyn1, on 07/16/2009, -0/+32In the video they stated that the honking was a weekly occurrence. If I lived or worked next to that intersection I would be extremely pissed off.
- wannaBdug, on 07/15/2009, -0/+31Fighting over peace-too funny.
- socivitus, on 07/15/2009, -1/+30Policeman spying on Honk 4 Peace people:
"Those hippies are up to sometin..." - billizm, on 07/16/2009, -0/+27It is unlawful to honk for non-traffic related reasons. The cops are not at fault. What a stupid hippie biased spin on the title. If some jackasses kept honking every week near where I lived or worked, I would welcome the cops to come take them away.
- allyclark, on 07/15/2009, -0/+24I love that the ACLU AND Police were "observing" each other...that made for some hilarious footage!
- DanPlainview, on 07/16/2009, -0/+19Agreed. Not only that, but it's dangerous. Horns are meant to be used for safety reasons and now people use them to get their friend out of their house because they're too ***** lazy to call them or to walk inside. I have to get woken up to that every morning at 7:00AM.
And then all these assclowns on the street honking in protest, I've nearly gotten into accidents because of that. It scares the ***** out of me when I'm driving along and the guy on the side of me or behind me honks really loud. I think that there's about to be an accident, and RIGHTLY ***** SO! Because that's what the goddam horn is made for.
Get a bumper sticker, yell out your window, whatever... Just stop the honking. - akchrs, on 07/16/2009, -2/+18I honk for anarchy.
- inactive, on 07/16/2009, -0/+15What the hell does "honking for peace" do anyway? Beside piss everyone else off? honking for peace is like playing loud music for hunger.
- Elsewhere42, on 07/16/2009, -0/+15Disturbing the Peace for Peace!
- Ajajadude, on 07/16/2009, -0/+10Something tells me you weren't for a revolution until Obama was elected.
- ousthouse, on 07/16/2009, -0/+8*****, and he was 4 honks away from achieving peace too.
- t0x2c, on 07/16/2009, -2/+10Honestly, after watching the video, these officers weren't intruding on the protest at all. This was one of the most reasonable police/protest interactions I've seen.
The "spying" which made the dumb fat bitch uncomfortable, well get used to it you're on public property. - JogaLuce, on 07/16/2009, -3/+10Meh. It is a public nuisance and safety hazard; horns are (supposed to be) used to signify warnings to other drivers, such as "Hey ***** don't back into me!" or "Don't you dare cut me off you dick!" or "IT'S GREEN! GOOO!"
It's really more an issue of who gets to draw the line between reasonable use and excessive. When the same people who are doing the ticketing get to determine, they should have an overseeing authority.
I'd be intrigued to see if he fights the ticket and wins or loses, with out that, it's not really an indictment of the system. That's (part of) what courts are for, to validate the actions of the police. - ictoan, on 07/16/2009, -1/+7Right and who do you have in mind that can fix this '***** mess'? Palin? Limbaugh?
I don't see any more mess this country is now than it was last year when Bush was president. - Travelsonic, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6Honk if your horn is broken!
/georgecarlin - MAGZine, on 07/16/2009, -1/+5And replace them with what, I might ask?
- defeatedtea, on 07/16/2009, -3/+7In Soviet Russia peace signs honk at you!!
- FortyCaliber, on 07/16/2009, -1/+5Surveillance of the protest... chilling? They were taking pictures for posterity and history. They weren't hiding or anything or bugging anyone.
The police are allowed to take pictures and it's not an infringement on anyone's rights. - Spire3660, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4IN California, honking your horn for anything other then a road related emergency is a crime, the notable exception being car alarms, and even then they are strictly limited. Its a noise issue and the police are right to ticket offenders.
- inactive, on 07/16/2009, -1/+5yes, because ignorance of the law is a vaid excuse. EVERYONE knows that.
- t0x2c, on 07/16/2009, -1/+5I honk for anarcho-syndicalism.
- FortyCaliber, on 07/16/2009, -0/+3I can't honk because my horn's broken....
but if I did, it would be for Jeffersonian Republics. - Sherman901, on 07/16/2009, -0/+3Apparently you haven't been to North Korea recently...
- piieerrrree, on 07/16/2009, -2/+5The police should've spoken with the protesters before taking pictures, just to let them know what they were doing. Otherwise, this sounds like a lot of noise over nothing...
- Zomgondo, on 07/16/2009, -1/+4I don't know about other states, but in California the horn is supposed to be used as a warning device only... although the cops seem to understand that honking at the dude in front of you for not going at a green light is a warning that he's about to get his ass kicked.
- BottledViolence, on 07/16/2009, -0/+3They should be glad it was just a ticket. Some jackasses show up every Tuesday in front of my house and they'll change their tune about having the cops there.
- Buckwyld, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3Thank goodness. Some peace and quiet... finally.
- masterstghm, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2There are times when police behave irrationally, this was not one of them. People complained about the noise safety, and so police responded to keep the neighborhood safe. Horns are meant as a warning of danger, not as a half-assed protest.

LOL - inactive, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2Honking is a ticket-able offense, it's as simple as that. I don't care what it was for - if it causes a disruption (and potential road danger), give the guy a ticket.
Good to see that Digg will stop at nothing to demonize police officers. - wackattack, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2Cartman finally joined the police?
- sv650touring, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2"increasing awareness" is an easy substitute for actually doing something about a problem. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go stick this magnetic ribbon to my car.
- FDL1, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2Yes, there are noise ordinances in many cities. Also, lol ACLU.
- inactive, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2ads? what ads?
- georgetds, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1He was speeding for peace. Besides, everyone else speeds like that, and last year they let some speeders off on tickets, so he thought it was okay.
- greenmoonice, on 07/16/2009, -2/+3How about several thousand thermonuclear explosions? That would definatly mean starting over. :)
- Eadwyn1, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1And because his Minnesota's license plate and driver's license wouldn't say otherwise...
- DrMcFondled, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1A ticket is sure for the man who began stepping on the acceleration at the end of the video
- rda1441, on 07/16/2009, -4/+5Wish the police could beat the crap out of these hippies.
- chesstwin, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1If I go put on my police halloween costume and take pictures of them will they freak out again? This could be entertaining.
- deaftly, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2I honk for hooters
- Frostek, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1"Scum! No one honks on an ABC Warrior and gets away with it!" - Hammerstein.
*gets nostalgic about the old days of reading 2000 A.D.* - Nidy1, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2I have a strange urge to go to the Opera.
- alrightwtf, on 07/16/2009, -0/+0*****.. i wish i wouldn't have seen ricky on the sidewalk.
- scarlettletter, on 07/15/2009, -3/+3Jumbo shrimp! Larger half! Original copies..... Honk 4 peace!
- 4AntiStupid, on 07/16/2009, -1/+0Yes, please find a less annoying useless activity if you really need that imaginary ego stroke that you're doing something.
