- overtoke, on 07/10/2009, -7/+123I hope the bull is ok.
- sockpuppets, on 07/10/2009, -2/+62This is why I only attend the running of the bunnies.
- Misinformant, on 07/10/2009, -3/+58Darwin won.
- jmiller29, on 07/10/2009, -5/+54Dumbass.
- LexMortis, on 07/10/2009, -4/+53Am I the only one who always roots for the bulls?
- Eddie Temple, on 07/10/2009, -1/+48Wow...Didn't see that coming
- danwallace, on 07/10/2009, -3/+48One of them wanted to be there. The other one didn't.
- chuckDontSurf, on 07/10/2009, -3/+42^^ Correction: an idiot dies voluntarily doing something that was likely to result in injury or death.
- diggdat, on 07/10/2009, -0/+36From another article:
"The surgeon performed a surgical exploration and saw that the man“s injuries were incompatible with life".
So many ways to say a person is messed up...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1198792/Br ... - humanedited, on 07/10/2009, -4/+38Good for him (the bull). Running of the Bulls is one of the dumbest festivals/traditions there is
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -3/+33You play with the bull, you get the horn.
- UnpossibIe, on 07/10/2009, -3/+32Not to sound callous, but I feel more for the bulls than the dead guy. At least the dead guy won't be eaten afterwards.....will he?
- ennuisquared, on 07/10/2009, -1/+28What'd you think was gonna happen?
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -4/+29Good. Anyone stupid enough to run in front of a bunch of panicky, charging bulls down a narrow corridor deserves to be gored. Too bad this doesn't happen more often to remind people that this is not something to be done just to prove to your ***** friends you're macho.
- ivantalboys, on 07/10/2009, -0/+22Untill they release this one.
http://www.samswitzer.org/pics/killer-rabbit-from- ... - inactive, on 07/10/2009, -4/+25The man deserved every bit of pain. Shame they torture and kill the bulls after the exploitation is over.
- duggtodeath, on 07/10/2009, -4/+22Neither did he.
What? Too soon? - paulmwaltz, on 07/10/2009, -1/+19We have a Motivational poster in my office that has a picture of the running of the bulls and reads
"TRADITION
Just because you've always done it that way doesn't mean it's not incredibly stupid." - ultraseamus, on 07/10/2009, -1/+18After reading this article I could not help but try to figure out why anyone would ever do this. I figured it was because of tradition, so I looked for some noble story about how it began. Sure enough, they transported bulls, and dumb kids jumped in the way to show off. Not really sure what I was hoping for. Maybe a story about how 100s of years ago super intelligent bulls would regularly attack towns, and a few brave souls would risk their lives to lead them away from people who could not defend themselves. But no, what started as dumb kids jumping in front of angry bulls to show off, is now a cherished national pastime.
- minnecrapolis, on 07/10/2009, -2/+18A man didn't die because of a bull. The man died because he was stupid enough to partake in a cruel activity. Do you think he was just some random pedestrian out for a stroll?
Here's an idea. Stop the running of the bulls and then ***** like this won't have to be killed by them.
I have no sympathy for this guy or his family.
Good on the bulls when they do this to their tormentors. - 2of8, on 07/10/2009, -2/+17No, I absolutely agree with you. Humans choose to partake in this dangerous game; bulls, on the other hand, are slaughtered regardless.
- Jeebugorn, on 07/10/2009, -0/+12Kate Veatch: That... is a really interesting painting.
White Goodman: Thank you. Yeah, that's me, taking the bull by the horns. It's how I handle business. It's a metaphor.
Kate Veatch: I get it.
White Goodman: But that actually happened, though. - nevaseez, on 07/10/2009, -2/+14even the article picture is AWESOME!
- chuckDontSurf, on 07/10/2009, -1/+13The article will appear after the jump to light speed.
- DankBuddz, on 07/10/2009, -1/+13Why, becuase they're smart enough not to run around in front of pissed off bulls?
- JustinDM, on 07/10/2009, -0/+11I think the bulls are always killed at the end of the running of the bulls
- Nitrodist88, on 07/10/2009, -1/+12This is news? Someone is gored at the running of the bulls? What did you expect, candy?
- twiztidsinz, on 07/10/2009, -1/+11\\n/,
- DaDrake, on 07/10/2009, -0/+10injuries incompatible with life...
I don't know why, but I love how they phrased that. - ElBearde, on 07/10/2009, -2/+11As a beef farmer I can't help but shake my head at such annual stupidity. A neighbor of mine got mauled by a bull last week and it broke 6 of her rib bones like they were sheets of paper. She was lucky to get out alive.
Bulls can kill you very easily. When they haven't been dehorned, they can kill you twice as easily. - thizzlebot, on 07/10/2009, -3/+11You gotta love Karma.
- Daniel591992, on 07/10/2009, -1/+9storys....
- urik88, on 07/10/2009, -1/+9Well, technically, he will.
- Feenix566, on 07/10/2009, -1/+9That's the whole point. If nobody ever died, there wouldn't be any excitement in running in front of a bull. If they had an annual running of the bunnies, no one would bother to show up.
- jezsik, on 07/10/2009, -0/+8Playboy Bunnies?
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -3/+10Shocker
- bigpappapunk, on 07/10/2009, -1/+8Bull *****
- travisg100, on 07/10/2009, -2/+9the horn in that guys leg is far more sick than the guy getting impaled in the next. OMG
- WoWii, on 07/10/2009, -1/+8Don't take a career in comedy.
- TonyTheTerrible, on 07/10/2009, -4/+11we can call him a dumbass and "laugh" at his death but a human life was lost.
- LiquidSpark, on 07/10/2009, -2/+9Exactly.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -1/+7"Pamplona, Spain had the annual Running of the Bulls this week. You see so many runners getting gored. I've been gored in the ass before. I'm still gonna try to Run with the Bulls at least once. " whaaa?
- mnemy, on 07/10/2009, -1/+7Who's the pinata now?
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -1/+7I couldn't see the stabbing in the video.
- KMartSheriff, on 07/10/2009, -1/+7And everyone knows storys are better than stories.
- caniblaze, on 07/10/2009, -1/+7I root for the bulls
- calypsoschnitzl, on 07/10/2009, -1/+7Idiots.
- chicagojack, on 07/10/2009, -5/+11Its sad, but you need storys like this to make the run interesting
- b0bbyw1se, on 07/10/2009, -1/+6One of the many dangers of running with the bulls is, being made to look like a dumb-ass.
- nicademus8, on 07/10/2009, -8/+13I'm not really sure why there is so much hatred towards this runner. I have no sympathy for anyone injured or killed during the running of the bulls, but it doesn't follow that I need to be a prick whenever it does happen. I ran with the bulls in 2006, and I was fully prepared to accept the consequences of it.
The truth is, the odds of getting seriously injured (paralyzed, permanent organ or limb damage, death) in the run are surprisingly low; maybe a tenth of a percent. That may sound like a lot, but people subject ourselves to high levels of risk all of the time. Smoking, a poor diet, and lack of exercise is far more deleterious to health than running with the bulls. Not to mention all of the other extreme sports out there (sky diving, bungee jumping, canyoning).
The only people who deserve such contempt are those who choose to roll the dice, but then are unwilling to accept the consequences. I wouldn't do it a second time, but running was one of the greatest experiences in my life. -
