- NeoNcP, on 06/09/2008, -9/+150bugs me when people do this to their dogs
- tehHardcorez, on 06/09/2008, -18/+127Florida. What a ***** surprise.
- noseeme, on 06/09/2008, -27/+119Babies are more resilient than one would think:

As a responder, I'm glad that medics got there quickly to initiate a rapid cool down, even though the child wasn't seriously hurt - I'd bet money that his core temperature had risen to at least mildly dangerous levels.
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -12/+85McCain will deliver hot bottled water to all dehydrated babies. So don't worry.
Hot water burn baby! - aboyd, on 06/09/2008, -12/+75What. An. Idiot.
Does he sleep inside lit ovens? What kind of lifestyle would make him think this was OK? - BryanG412, on 06/09/2008, -4/+57Good thing the baby hadn't been over clocked. Without a proper cooling system, its core temp would have far exceeded the limit at which stable operation is compromised.
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -3/+55You have to wonder, did he forget his child? Or did he just presume that the kid wouldn't have any fun and instead would enjoy playing survive the oven.
- RedSaber, on 06/09/2008, -20/+62Okay, the guy did a mistake. So, what do you guys say? He should go to jail because of it? Last time I checked, the baby was fine, not even injured.
Americans can be so funny sometimes. You want to charge a guy for leaving his kid in the car for 10 minutes, while you don't give a crap about torture by your government.
Come on, there's like 7-8 millions people in your prisons. Putting more people in jail is not gonna solve any of your problems. It's your culture that needs to change. There's something we call "prevention" that can be used before incarceration. - andrewsp88, on 06/09/2008, -3/+43If i was four and locked in a car out side of Chuck E Cheese i would wish i was dead.
- f4nt0m4s, on 06/09/2008, -7/+42What's worse than 10 dead babies in one car?
1 dead baby in 10 cars. - LexisNexis, on 06/09/2008, -3/+36Thats not at all what he was saying. None of us have probably ever seen something like that in person, whereas I'm sure we've all seen it done to a dog.
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -8/+40dogs > kids
- Surferess, on 06/09/2008, -14/+46Thank goodness the child is OK. Dodged a bullet there, eh?
- Llanowar, on 06/09/2008, -3/+30Why not over 9000?
- BryanG412, on 06/09/2008, -2/+28Do a barrel roll!
- larryjr88, on 06/09/2008, -6/+30You guys want to pay your tax dollars to put a father of several children in overcrowded jails because he left an uninjured child in a car for 10 minutes? GTFO. There are more important things than beating up parents for things that every mother has done at least once.
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 06/09/2008, -0/+24If you throw a plastic bag in there with them, it will distract them from the safety latch.
- studdenfadden, on 06/09/2008, -0/+24One problem with putting kids in the trunk, most new cars have that stupid emergency open handle on the inside of the trunk. I thought about breaking it off, but it says on it that "Tampering with this emergency device is a felony." I don't want to commit a crime. So, does any one have any ideas on how to deal with this so that my kids can be safely locked in the trunk with committing a felony?
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -0/+23I think its the only answer to 50 wild kids in a small area.
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -2/+25Maybe he didnt like that one.
- WallnutBoy, on 06/09/2008, -4/+27Too bad he's already had kids =/
- richalot, on 06/09/2008, -18/+41What if it was an honest mistake? The guy took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese for crying out loud. It wasn't like he left him in the car while going into a sex shop or to shoot up. Yeah it was a stupid thing, but we don't know the circumstances yet we are quick to judge. Guilty until proven innocent - God Bless America.
- shark72, on 06/09/2008, -1/+23Well, it was only 10 minutes because that's when the bystander happened to find the poor kid. If nobody had noticed, it may have been a much sadder story.
- TheMidnight, on 06/09/2008, -1/+22Yeah, just slap a heatsink and some temp glue on the toddler's head!
- Fozefy, on 06/09/2008, -1/+21Thats almost bad enough to be jailed right there! Who denies a child Chuck E Cheese!?!
- LemonPress, on 06/09/2008, -3/+21Human Civilization... what a ***** surprise.
- JoeMerchant, on 06/09/2008, -7/+24All the story says is "hot car" and everyone ASSumes that the thing is in the blazing direct sun with the windows up tight.
Windows could have all been down 1" and the paramedics would have still smashed one to gain entry.
Could have been parked under a tree, could have been cloudy, I don't know and the story's not telling me.
Neither does anyone else know, but they are all sure the guy needs to be flogged and castrated. Things aren't always as sensational as the media makes them out to be.
I'd only give 3/5 odds that the guy's a total idiot and needs to be flogged - there's a better than slight chance he wasn't as much of a cretin as everyone is assuming. - MusicMagi, on 06/09/2008, -1/+16Something about baby overclocking that is funny to me. Thanks for th at
- Thater, on 06/09/2008, -2/+17This happened in Orlando, Florida. That is pretty much a year round sunny climate. According to weather.com it was 91 F there yesterday.
So what the ***** are you talking about? - meruru, on 06/09/2008, -0/+15You do that. Just make sure to submit the news story about it to digg.
- phorty40, on 06/09/2008, -1/+1610 minutes in a locked car , in florida.
stagnant air , increasing temp. try it. 10 mins might as well be an hour. - sockpuppets, on 06/09/2008, -9/+24Yeah all 300 million of us got together and decided torture was ok, ya got us there Einstein.
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -0/+14I truely believe your user name.
- Onyxblaze, on 06/09/2008, -3/+17I'm sorry, are you a toddler?
- DooM, on 06/09/2008, -1/+15A) You shouldn't be leaving a young child alone in even a nice and comfy car - there's just no reason to do it and too many things that can go wrong.
B) He didn't leave the kid in the car for 10 minutes - he left the kid in the car, period. Luckily it only took 10 minutes for someone to see the kid and call the police. - varmit, on 06/09/2008, -0/+14Human combustion happens at 9001 degrees.
- joshblufs, on 06/09/2008, -2/+15Child was being insolent. Next time kid gets dipped in boiling hot magma.
- BobMysterioso, on 06/09/2008, -3/+16Its almost like, its a joke. And the caption is part of that same joke.
What a clever person to come up with such an original idea! - Laminarcissus, on 06/09/2008, -2/+15That's why I think the protocol for this should be:
1. Find the kid
2. Take out the kid
3. Torch the car
If the guy gets back before the police and fire department are able to extract the kid and set fire to the car, then he gets off with misdemeanor. If not, he gets to come out to watch a cool car fire, and realize it's his car.
When he runs up, the police say; "we have your kid, but this should be a dramatic reminder of how hot a car can get if you leave it unattended." - twishart, on 06/09/2008, -1/+13Cosimo Capitanio?
Wasn't that Buzz Lightyear's name in the spanish translation of Toy Story? - WrldsWrstDigger, on 06/09/2008, -1/+12scumbag.
- Zarile3, on 06/09/2008, -1/+12Being a new father myself, this disturbs me very much. With the way the weather has been lately, if my wife and I both need to go somewhere, the car is running for at least 5 minutes with ac full blast before we put our daughter in that car. It's too hot out there.
- HillerMylife, on 07/24/2008, -4/+14It was a fairly stupid thing to do, but I don't think the guy should have been arrested.
- logicalnoise, on 06/09/2008, -1/+11seems like moms who take their daughters to kids beauty pagents are about the same as overclockers.
- Onyxblaze, on 06/09/2008, -1/+11Congratulations, you are stupid.
