- barrimon, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2Mint is cool. But when you listen to Patzer, you realize he's kind of a conceited prick... too cool to be douche bag right now, but it could be in his future.
- Leonffs, on 11/20/2009, -2/+3Why would you put all of your bank, credit card info, and countless other stuff on one website?
- DesertBear, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1As a Quicken user, I can only hope that Patzer finds a way to make it and Mint a great combo. I am using the Quicken 2003 version only because I irreversibly upgraded from the '98 version. It works, but as Patzer figured out, it could be so much better. The only reason I haven't started using Mint is because it doesn't let you upload financial records.
- TimTheSloth, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Mint has pretty poor customer service. The Wamu online banking switched over to Chase.com about a week ago and the change was handled so inelegantly by Mint that the only solution is to set up a new account for chase.com, manually flag a month's worth of duplicate entries so your budgets don't get messed up (so far for me even after taking all that time to flag duplicate entries hasn't even worked), and flag your wamu account as closed (make sure not to press the large "delete" option or your entire statement/budget history will be deleted forever). I imagine they have thousands of users who have been effected by this. The forum is full of people complaining and receiving stock answers about the same problems (lack of manual entries for example) over and over.

- Ballresin, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1I looked at using Mint, but don't want the service linked to my account and it wasn't flexible enough.
That's why I'm developing a Mint competitor. It us currently in closed beta, and looking for testers. If you're interested, hit me up at budgetformylife@gmail.com
Hopefully this time next year I'll be able to take the wraps off of it and blow Mint out of the water. - Rantus, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Keep pinching them pennies Patzer.
- Walker2323, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1I'd love to try Mint, but unfortunately it's not available in Canada. Yet.
Just tried out Quicken's free online service and I've got to say it's pretty phenomenal. But from what I've heard, Mint is much better, so I hope it gets to the Great White North soon. - alantocheri, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1This could be a serious post, but it's hard to tell. No actual domain name for your email?
A canadian version would be nice. - SurlyDuff, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1...

- dusanmal, on 11/06/2009, -1/+1Because people today forgot how to think two steps into the future. I'd bet that quite soon we will have Digg article about millions of people robbed of their monies and identities through this path. Banks and people have vested interest in their own finances. Mint is company with no skin in the game collecting financial info in one convenient spot... think one step further: someone from inside or outside will break in their front end and get all that convenient "secure info", as security of someone with no skin in the game will never be the same as that of someone protecting their own assets. Soon we'll be speaking of Patzer in similar sense as Madoff.
PS Many web-celebrities have recently cooed all over Mint claiming that they use the same secure back-end as all other banking institutions and hence are safe themselves. True for the non-Mint back-end. Pointless regarding Mint front end for which they didn't have any security expertise even compared to the Little Nowhere Bank of South Podunk.

What is Digg?
