- roastedbagel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26"Up to you to decide whether it's real or not." Digg has some very idiotic people on here. Glad to know theres people out there that I am smarter than.
- tdogg241, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27It's called an illusion. A trick is something a whore does for money.
- domr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20"She was a plant"
No, I'm fairly sure she was human.
(Sorry) - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16If I were a magician doing this trick, I'd set it up to spray blood and fake entrails all over the place when I actually pulled the trick off. Maybe look shocked and run off the stage too.
- scanman20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Obviously it's fake. Has to be bad actors and video cut together to pull it off. Plus if you look at the top half that craws away, she has different facial features than the woman who sits down.
- speedyrev, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Not real AND not a magic trick. If you can't do it if front of a live audience, it is just another video.
- nacixem1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11 The Top Half of the lady is Rosemarie Siggins

2. A woman with no legs
3. Video editing - nilclop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"It's called an illusion. A trick is something a whore does for money."
***Looks over at kids***
"Or candy!" - Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7True, the woman's reaction after she gets "ripped in half" should tell you that she was an actor. She had a big smile on her face, and she started "running" on her hands. For a person who just lost her legs, running on her arms should be the last thing that occurs to her to do. It's obvious that she's a double amputee.
- Jonzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I hate this stuff how the hell did they do that.
- neoform, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7It's not magic, they're all paid actors and they just cut scenes and replaced her with a midget.. :| real maaaagical!
- addrake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Acutally speedyrev...it IS a magic trick. No video manipulation at all..
http://www.snopes.com/photos/people/pullapart.asp - mc7winkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Why on earth would you run away from your body? Also I would like to see him put her back together.
- actionscripted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Agreed. Chris Angel, David Blaine, et al. should really start employing more theatrics. And I don't mean something gay with tigers. I'm talking about something bad-ass, something so shocking that if it were a movie it'd get an "R" rating.
I'm no magician, but I'd imagine that you could suspend disbelief for longer if you gave people a view of something borderline obscene -- so they're thinking more about the obscenity and not so much the trick. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Criss Angel rips a women in half"
The Hulk's magic career was short-lived. - Initech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Hahahaha!! The reactions from the crowd are great!
- joeshlub, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Normally I'd digg this just because it's entertaining, but that caption is just stupid. Wait wait wait... are you implying that it might not be real? Cause I thought he actually had her get pulled in half.
- Mr.Germain, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6I've seen dumber things before, but i can't remember where. I want my five minutes back.
- tdogg241, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What crazy ass parks are you going to where standing costs $1???
- onClipEvent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2just a general comment on magic in general, most TV viewers don't realize that video editing plays a HUGE part in the presentation of a magic trick, this is especially true for street magic, where the placement of cameras and viewing angles can make or break a trick. On David Copperfield's magic shows (for TV), he'll often say that "no camera tricks" are used, (okay, whatever that means), but what he doesn't tell you is that the camera are meticulously placed to give the viewers a limited view. anyway....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, because everybody who has their torso split in two runs away laughing. I don't know about you, but if I saw my legs on the bench while the rest of me is elsewhere, I'd wet myself (once I'm put back together, that is).
- nonhuman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How is she being used? No one forced her to do that (presumably, if they did it's another story entirely).
Is it sick and wrong to put out a casting call for obese people when that's what a script calls for? Or midgets (sorry, little people)?
Good for her for finding making a living for herself fill rather than using her disability as an excuse to be a drain on society. It's a lot more than you can say for a lot of perfectly 'normal' people. - johal55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is a good illusion, but one thing that always has ticked me off is the people who believe Criss Angel religiously and believe in everything he does is real.
/rant - Scriptic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1She's clearly comfortable with herself, you aren't comfortable with her being different.
As for her getting paid for it or not, who cares? I'm taking the big smile on her face to mean;
"Would have done it for free, suckers!"
Really, the crowds’ faces could have made it into a MasterCard commercial;
Walk in the park $0
Standing in the park $1
Getting scared ***** in the park? Priceless. - diafel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice job getting the same video posted to the front page again.
- blankman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2the woman with the dress that he breaks in half is planted. Asking the other girl first, then casually saying she's too short is just to throw you off. The one they used Is a girl with no legs, sitting on a midget hidden by a dress.
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1very cool but really more of a prank than a magic trick. if there was blood everywhere and she didn't run away i may of believed it.
- domr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Editing!
The process is very simple...
1. "Full sized" woman lies down
2. Cut to woman with no legs, plus some fake legs in the same clothes.
3. Actors "pull woman apart"
4. Cut to shot of original woman's legs - she wiggles her toes for added effect.
Remember, everyone you see is in on the "trick". Magicians may say they don't use camera tricks or stooges, but all magicians - like politicians - are nothing more than egotistical performers who make their living from lying to people. - ApolloImBurning, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very interesting read...
- domr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, the whole scene is set up (as with most "street magic" you see on TV). Everyone you see is in on it. Genuine "onlookers" would figure out very quickly it was just a woman with no legs.
- diggmanic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All you need is some friends that pretend to not know you and a midget. And some nice video editing.
- Fraghappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I get the top half (obviously a double amputee) but what about the bottom half? Those are definitely full-length, correctly proportional legs, so it wasn't a midget or dwarf.
- nj10ii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No way man. This is totally real. Chris is a real magician, I just know it.
You people saying that person is just a double amputee are crazy!
Did you see the legs just stand up? That was freaky!
Oh wait a minute, isn't all magic tricks just that? Tricks meant to fool you, amaze you? Who cares how he did it, he gets a paycheck for doing this stuff. I'd go to his Vegas show any day of the week! - kolywater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is from addrake's comment above:
"...it IS a magic trick. No video manipulation at all.."
http://www.snopes.com/photos/people/pullapart.asp - tdogg241, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Or you can just go on reading the Tech section and be happy that this stuff now has its own category rather than cluttering up your beloved Tech.
- MiamiGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh man that gave me goosebumps. So weird.
- Nygma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't believe it's sad at all. If you've read or seen anything about her, then you've missed the point of her lively hood. She's a very inspiring woman who has spent her life making the best of what she has.
- domusvita, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I made your -1 digg a -2. Ohhhh...magic.
- jamesgray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Haha, i think it's pretty clear that there was just a woman with no legs plus someone hiding in that huge skirt. You notice how he says "just put your hands..." and never finishes, yet she somehow knows to put them over her head? Yeah... The reaction of the people there was fantastic. I also liked how she ran away on her hands screaming.
- CaseyUCF, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1yea i noticed that too
- mostWanted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0look, it doesnt in any way assure you that this is a truely random crowd. A possible explanation could be the use of 'blue/green screens' to cover parts of a body, and if done right in video editing software, could definitely result in such a 'miracle'.
Now its just a logical explanation. So dont pounce on me ;) - Archon810, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hilarious how the first one made it as "tech industry news".
- Scriptic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hey, it costs me more on wasted time, I dont know about you though.
- Koldark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That is sweet!
- atommclain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd be interenested in seeing said list.
- DiggidtyDog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1sigh this stuff is the worst thing about the new digg.
There are lots of sites already dedicated to this stuff.I will be glad to supply a list of links if yall need it.
Kevin, please remove this absurdity from digg - olddirtycr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I've seen this done in real life. for you people who are argueing that its fake.. No *****? It's pretty obvious its not real, and if you feel the need state its fake with reasons, you most likely have doubts about thinking its fake.
- Slummock, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1That's a very sad story, it has indeed gotten to me.
