Yes. I went there. - SMFB, on 01/14/2009, -26/+266In all truth with no negligence or abuse they do not have grounds for removing the children. Yes it's a terrible name but i thought it was a "free" country, now i think the parents are fuc*ed up just as much as the next guy, but it is their children and their decision...... they haven't broken any laws.
- haydukeqc, on 01/14/2009, -32/+207they should probably rescue all these kids too...

Also, if they took away the kids for a bad name then half the kids in Hollywood should be taken away. - haydukeqc, on 01/14/2009, -13/+111I hope they aren't removing the children because their parents exercised the first amendment, that would be embarrassing for the state.
- WNW3, on 01/14/2009, -3/+91Please tell me you didn't take the time to make that list yourself.
- odigity, on 01/14/2009, -5/+72The irony is, if America ever follows in the footsteps of Nazi Germany, CPS will be a big part of making that happen.
***** tyrranical *****, those CPS. "but its for the children!" - that's the most blinding excuse, and hence blinds us to some of the most horrible evils perpetrated by the State. - yocouchdigga, on 01/14/2009, -7/+66Whether or not the parents are playing with a full deck is debatable but as the previous comments have hinted on, this seems wrong. The state shouldn't be able to take a child without explanation, that's ridiculous no matter how you cut it. Should be interesting to see this play out, hopefully they haven't traumatized poor lil Adolf Hitler, the last time that happened it didn't turn out so well....
- ryanhayn, on 01/14/2009, -7/+61Can't get an abortion? Just name your kid Adolf Hitler.
- grungegbunny, on 01/14/2009, -4/+58Agreed.
This is no different than the ACLU protecting the freedoms of speech of pro-nazi or KKK.
"I may not agree with what you say, but i'll defend to the death your right to say it." - wunksta, on 01/14/2009, -5/+57"However, Heath reportedly denies the Holocaust and their home is decorated with swastikas."
reportedly being the key word - AmazingA, on 01/14/2009, -1/+51From USAToday article: A spokeswoman for the state Division of Youth and Family Services, Kate Bernyk, said she would not comment on any specific case, but she said the state would not remove children from a home simply because of their names.
- edrainkona, on 01/14/2009, -0/+50I'm gonna name my kid Broccoli Dip.
- netneutrality, on 01/14/2009, -5/+50Why did they take them away?
- dante88, on 01/15/2009, -24/+68About god-damned time? for what? The denial of that family's civil rights?
- sockpuppets, on 01/14/2009, -3/+44Oy vey!
- qber, on 01/15/2009, -1/+41Don't forget the Palin kids, Track and Trig.
- flashboy131, on 01/14/2009, -7/+45 "Yeah, they (the Nazis) were bad people back then. But my kids are little. They're not going to grow up like that." However, Heath reportedly denies the Holocaust and their home is decorated with swastikas.
Oh sweet mother of god. He think naming his kids Adolph Hitler and Aryan Nation is harmless? Really? Why didn't the parents just change their own names if they wanted to make a statement why do it with children? In fact that should be their punishment. - inactive, on 01/14/2009, -0/+36They wouldn't stop screaming at Denny's.
- McNash, on 01/14/2009, -9/+44Poor kids, some people shouldn't have children.
- wesholing, on 01/14/2009, -4/+38How's that cake taste now?
- captainmo77, on 01/14/2009, -5/+38ZE CAKE IS A LIE!
- Vodd9, on 01/15/2009, -3/+36"No reason was given for why the children were removed, however, and Holland Township police chief David Van Gilson told the site they had not received any reports of abuse or negligence."
This is absolutely outrageous. - BN89, on 01/14/2009, -4/+33Brooklyn is a ***** sweet name.
- Catbert107, on 01/14/2009, -5/+33Does naming your child something awful really merit losing your kids? As long as its a stable household, their beliefs cant legally be condemned
- sockpuppets, on 01/14/2009, -0/+28His girlfriend's name is Nine.
- odigity, on 01/14/2009, -6/+33I think teaching a child that he's evil for being born and is partially responsible for killing the son of god and that if he doesn't do exactly the following nonsensical 400 things he is going to burn in hell for eternity is far, far worse.
Best captured in this amazing podcast:
http://www.freedomainradio.com/Traffic_Jams/how_to ... - teddylj, on 01/15/2009, -4/+31He wasn't making fun of Jews, but I think we can both agree that you do not understand.
- inactive, on 01/14/2009, -26/+51What the ***** ever happened to freedom of speech?
- anexanhume, on 01/15/2009, -1/+25Actually, magnus is an awesome name. The only other magnus I know is magnus samuelson, and he's a world's strongest man.
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -4/+27You can't tell me this isn't some kind of emotional abuse. It's like tying a steak to a kid and throwing it to a pack of starving dogs, and then claiming you're not guilty of anything because it was the dogs who tore the kid apart, not you.
- GovernmentsGun, on 01/14/2009, -1/+23I'm reserving judgement for now because no reason has been given, even though the local police have heard no complaints. However if it's because of their names, and because the parents are likely to raise their kids racists, I'm going to be pissed.
- AtheismFTW, on 01/14/2009, -2/+23A spokeswoman for the state Division of Youth and Family Services, Kate Bernyk, said she would not comment on any specific case, but she said the state would not remove children from a home simply because of their names.
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D95N5G1G3& ... - PGPirate, on 01/15/2009, -2/+23Why are they cleansing that family?
- dreamincode, on 01/14/2009, -9/+29Do any of those names trigger horrific pictures of REAL events in people's heads?
No. - radu79, on 01/15/2009, -18/+38I am not sure in what country you live in, but in the US we have a certain amendment in the constitution (which happens to be the 1st) which ensures freedom of speech.
I hope they sue the government and get a big settlement.
P.S. I think it is a poor decision to name your kids like that, but the government should stay the ***** out of people's lives unless there is some illegal activity. - Xihix, on 01/15/2009, -0/+19... I like Soda better.
- BCPneumatics, on 01/14/2009, -0/+19"yet there is no president for removing them from their home."
Of course not, it's not his job. Even if it were, there's no precedent for it. - punx, on 01/15/2009, -0/+19Um yes, it does.
- catfish182, on 01/15/2009, -11/+29The father and mother are putting the children though undue stress. One of the girls is named Aryan nation. Come on.
That is wrong and that is putting the children at risk. - archer104, on 01/15/2009, -8/+25@radu
Your freedoms end where another's begin. The child has the freedom to have a fair and equal chance at life. You can't name your kid "*****" or "Kick me" because of the unfair stress that you will put him/her through. You cannot abuse your children physically or mentally or the government is responsible for taking the child away and they should be. It's all about where you draw the line and I bet if you ask any mental health expert they will tell you that naming your child Adolf Hitler will be causing unecessary stress and unfairly putting your child through hostile situations in public.
You are free to protest and voice your opinions but you are not free to use your child as a political billboard at their expense. - wunksta, on 01/14/2009, -3/+20what are you talking about? cps was barred from taking the mormon children a while back
- frombeyond, on 01/15/2009, -9/+26These people may have just hit the jackpot. If the names was the reason, they should sue the govt for a couple million. And I hope they win.
And the names very likely was the reason. My guess is this youth services dept read about the names, then made up another reason to take the kids. That will come out in court if they did. - Zarokima, on 01/15/2009, -3/+20Does Joseph trigger any such pictures? Stalin was arguably worse than Hitler.
- sathias, on 01/14/2009, -1/+18Yeah they should rescue Dweezil Zappa from his father... even though Frank Zappa is dead and Dweezil is an adult.
- alais, on 01/14/2009, -6/+23But the state (or any other agency) should never decide who.
- CrazyEddie041, on 01/15/2009, -2/+19Emotionally, that example is going to be dead-on once those kids get to school.
- Cloned, on 01/15/2009, -0/+17I have a friend who used to work in CPS. She left because she was disgusted at how willing they are to ruin a family. She came from a bad home, so she wanted to what she could to help kids who are in a similar situation that she was.
There was one time when one of her coworkers tried to remove children from a home because they thought he was a "dirty redneck." This coworker had the office nickname of "The Terminator" for terminating families. - serif69, on 01/14/2009, -1/+18Pretty sure it's a little late for more than half of that list to call Child Protective Services. I mean, Dweezil Zappa is nearly 40.
