- hDJgangsta, on 07/12/2009, -1/+622"The brother and sister, who live in Sacramento, Calif., said that while growing up in California they were told by their mother, who divorced Spencer before he was charged, that they were blocking out the memory of the abuse."
"The Court of Appeals ruled his testimony was not necessary, given his age at the time of the alleged crimes and the fact that his mother had had an affair with Krause's supervisor."
What a gigantic bitch. - z00k, on 07/12/2009, -18/+553They are so grounded.
- iamajfunk, on 07/12/2009, -44/+549***** kids. No pun intended.
- chooochooo, on 07/12/2009, -2/+459very sad story... 20 years of his life was wasted in jail because of doing nothing wrong.
- DavidNiven, on 07/12/2009, -0/+448Someone should lock up that investigator and the ex-wife for 20 years...at hard labor with bread and water.
- opticwind, on 07/12/2009, -11/+405"A 33-year-old son recalled how, at age 9, he was repeatedly questioned, alone, by now-retired Detective Sharon Krause, of the Clark County Sheriff's Office. He said that after months of questioning, he said he had been abused just to get Krause to leave him alone.
A 30-year-old daughter said she doesn't remember what she told Krause at age 5, but recalled Krause bought her ice cream.
The brother and sister, who live in Sacramento, Calif., said that while growing up in California they were told by their mother, who divorced Spencer before he was charged, that they were blocking out the memory of the abuse.
They said they realized as adults the abuse had never happened."
This isn't a flaw in our system, it was a ***** cop. - Ninh, on 07/12/2009, -2/+319If there's a crime that's worse than child molestation .. there you have it.
- thegrantman, on 07/12/2009, -0/+258This is part of the witch hunt mentality surrounding child abuse .Coercing children to testify, repressed memories revealed under hypnosis, etc.,etc. When hype eclipses reason; this is the end result.
- itc518, on 07/12/2009, -2/+257And a ***** mother. Like someone said above, these two bitches should be locked up for 20 yrs now.
- duggtodeath, on 07/12/2009, -1/+242Double-homicide.
- itc518, on 07/12/2009, -2/+232Hell ya there is, and this poor guy lost 20 yrs of his life that he can never get back. *****.
- copypastry, on 07/12/2009, -7/+231"lol jk"
-kids - Leminnes, on 07/12/2009, -4/+219I hate the justice system sometimes. There's a serious issue with "Innocent until proven guilty" at the moment. Just watching these crime shows, which yes I know aren't exactly the shining examples of the justice system but they still bother me, gives me a sick feeling. They get a crime scene. They likely don't know who did it so they find who could've and then do everything in their power to prove that they're guilty. At some point, they might find something contradictory but they'll hide it because they have put so much work into finding this person guilty.
It's really sickening. They're just too afraid to be wrong. Being wrong is more important then sending an innocent person to jail. - kaminariko, on 07/12/2009, -1/+191"the mother had had an affair with Krause's supervisor"
smoking gun - BrownieMix, on 07/12/2009, -0/+175I'm reminded of the South Park episode where all the kids told the cops that their parents molestered them.
- mmurdock77, on 07/12/2009, -12/+174Men are now the vulnerable ones when it comes the justice system. They are completely at the mercy of women/kids/the biased public. Women have the unmoderated ability to ruin mens lives at the drop of a hat. Evidence isn't necessary for a conviction anymore because the overall public still views women and children as "victims".
FEMINISM FTW - bmcnally, on 07/12/2009, -0/+160This is the one of the worst parts of the article:
"In 1985, Spencer entered the no-contest pleas, a type of guilty plea, after learning his court-appointed attorney had not prepared a defense. He felt pleading no contest was his only option, and that he would appeal his convictions." - ChinezePanda, on 07/12/2009, -0/+154The mother should go to prison. That is complete *****.
Not only should this guy sue the ***** out of her... but he should work on sending this bitch to prison. - inactive, on 07/12/2009, -1/+147No, read the article, it should be "***** detectives and mom. Pun intended." The mother convinced the kids they had just forgotten the abuse, and the detectives questioned them for months until they would incriminate their father.
- mhf03, on 07/12/2009, -0/+133Not to mention having to endure 20 years of being labeled a pedophile.
- inactive, on 07/12/2009, -2/+133***** this im going outside and smelling some flowers or something
- funkeepickle, on 07/12/2009, -0/+119People have forgotten about the phrases "Innocent until proven guilty" and "beyond a reasonable doubt". Right now "he might have done it" means "guilty".
- rocknog, on 07/12/2009, -1/+114Brainwashing. It can be very effective, especially if you're working with kids who are 5 and 9.
- ferrell, on 07/12/2009, -4/+115The kids were silent for 20 years while their father rotted away in prison?!?
WTF? - FleetAdmiral, on 07/12/2009, -0/+110Gigantic bitch is an understatement. My ex-wife tried this and the case was thrown out because my defense was able to prove that my ex-wife manipulated the kid. In my opinion, if someone manipulates someone testimony then they one who manipulated should serve the sentence that the one on trial was receive if found guilty.
- itc518, on 07/12/2009, -3/+103Innocent until proven guilty does not exist nowadays, it is exactly the opposite, Guilty until proven innocent.
- Tabascork, on 07/12/2009, -1/+98The jury obviously didn't watch The Crucible.
- Vodd9, on 07/12/2009, -4/+97I believe pun was fully intended.
- Rotzooi, on 07/12/2009, -7/+96But wait... there IS something worse: Internet piracy!
http://www.mpaa.org/piracy_internet.asp - crocodilexp, on 07/12/2009, -0/+89The guy served 20 years in prison for marrying the wrong person.
The wife should get sued for false testimony, witness tampering, conspiracy... and last but not least, severe child abuse. Can you imagine having to live with the fact that you put your own father in prison for 20 years? Worse than most sexual abuse in my opinion (if I had the dismal choice, it'd be an easy pick).
Are the kids responsible for the testimony? At ages 5 and 7 probably not, since their mother coached them. However, they could have taken a bit less than 20 years to rectify the situation. On the other hand, if they are clearly not responsible for the false testimony, how could it be sufficient for a conviction without any physical evidence? - Zarokima, on 07/12/2009, -3/+87If I were a juror in that case, I would call it justified.
- jeffiek, on 07/12/2009, -2/+85It's a flaw in the system. The HIRED the ***** cop. They didn't discover he was a ***** cop.
And the prosecutor STILL might want to appeal. - JapTastic, on 07/12/2009, -29/+111The mother should spend the rest of her life in prison. This is exactly why I will not allow my son to get married. Or have children. I will instill this in him daily for the next 30 years. I WILL NOT ALLOW IT!!!! We as men need to put and end to marriage and having children until laws are changed and us men are not all treated like rapists just for being alive.
- TheMAZZTer, on 07/12/2009, -0/+78THINK OF THE CHILDR... oh wait.
- Chompy, on 07/12/2009, -0/+7720 years from now, iamajfunk will admit it.
- JoeHague, on 07/12/2009, -0/+76...in prison/
- Daxx22, on 07/12/2009, -4/+78I've often heard the joke that the ultimate goal of the Feminist Movement is the complete emasculation and utter subjugation of the male gender.
I'm not laughing anymore. - masterkenobi, on 07/12/2009, -13/+85Well that's what he gets for not getting them Game Boys for Christmas.
- inactive, on 07/12/2009, -1/+69For those saying that there isn't a problem with our system - this is it.
Any good attorney would have buried the prosecution in mountains of coincidental and conspiratorial ***** surrounding the personal relationships of this guy's wife and Krause's supervisor, not too mention running them through the reasonable doubt ringer with absolutely ZERO ***** physical evidence.
However, I wouldn't have pleaded no contest. Admitting guilt makes trying to appeal almost pointless. This was a bunch of bad decisions perpetuated by a bunch of stupid, evil, hateful people - and they used young children and an innocent man in the process.
Pathetic. I hope that ex-wife and that piece of ***** Krause get sent up for life. - inactive, on 07/12/2009, -20/+8820 years of taxpayer money flushed because kids are stupid
- Kazbaeden, on 07/12/2009, -5/+66@Takamalak
There are 189 south park episodes. A vague description of the plot probably isn't the best way to find a specific episode.
@Amadeus2490
It's episode 4-16: "The Wacky Molestation Adventure" - rocknog, on 07/12/2009, -9/+67That's ***** *****, it's not the kids' fault, they were coerced into doing it.
- kristy84, on 07/12/2009, -1/+55How freaking sad, poor guy.
- uberduger, on 07/12/2009, -0/+53*Applauds*
That's an officially Totally Awesome idea. - tdogg241, on 07/12/2009, -0/+53"You wouldn't steal a child's innocence!"
- jnuffnuffnomnom, on 07/12/2009, -5/+57best April Fools EVER
- NewBrunswickMan, on 07/12/2009, -1/+53Kids say the darndest things
- saintsfan, on 07/12/2009, -6/+57Killing the wife? I guess he could molest his kids now because of double jeopardy.
